Wale And Rihanna Make Good On ‘Bad’ Remix

These days, most rap remixes usually consists of a loose collection of MCs collaborating over pre-existing instrumentals, but for the remix to his hit single “Bad,” Wale had the good sense to do something different.

Instead of rounding a predictable cast of rap characters, Floarin retooled the beat and then added to Rihanna to the remix of his The Gifted lead single, which he dropped off on Monday (June 3). The tune starts with moody synth keys before the familiar bed springs squeak, which appeared in the original track, lead to the infidelity-laced hook. In a surprising move, Wale and Rihanna trade actual rap bars. “Bad girls ain’t no good and the good girls ain’t no fun,” he spits before she answers: “And the bad girls want a real n—a.”

Still, Rih Rih saves her best performance for the chorus, where she tweaks Tiara Thomas’ original section into her own, adding a touch of her seductive island accent. “Easy baby, I never love. I never did, but I sure know how to f—,” she sings tragically.

The same day, it was announced that Thomas (who appeared on the original “Bad”) signed with Rico Love’s Interscope-backed Division 1 label, instead of Wale’s The Board Administration, but the signing hasn’t stopped her and the “Lotus Flower Bomb” MC from working together. “Me and @Tiara_Thomas got some new music droppin too. She got a song called ‘blow’. Smh. Just favorite this tweet,” he wrote on Twitter earlier. “My bubby @Tiara_Thomas genius for that . Wait till y’all hear “do it to u” my goodness!!”
