Mahomies, get ready because Monday is a big day for Austin Mahone. He will be with MTV for a 30-minute “Live From MTV” stream on MTV.com at 4 p.m. ET.
Sitting down with some of his biggest fans, Mahone will take questions from the live studio audience, talk about life on the road with Taylor Swift and discuss his catchy new pop single, “What About Love, ” which premiered Friday (June 7). Before stopping by MTV, Mahone will perform “What About Love” for the first time live on the “Today” show, and later, he’ll be premiering the video for the new track, the first off his fall debut album.
Last week, the MTV Artist to Watch teased fans with a snippet of the video, which had the 17-year-old pop star in his signature beanie hat, showing off his dance moves on the up-tempo RedOne-produced single.
And for the past several weeks, Mahone has joined Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran on the Red tour until August.
“I was speechless. My manager called me. They are like, ‘We originally wanted to get a song with you and Taylor,’ but Taylor’s manager was like, ‘Forget the song, let’s go on tour,’ ” Mahone told MTV News earlier this year about the moment he found out he was joining Swift on tour. “And I was like, ‘Why not?’ I’d rather go on tour than do a song. You know, a song might come out of that.”
