Though Mac Miller is currently out promoting his new album Watching Movies With the Sound Off, we strongly recommend that you watch this week’s episode of “RapFix Live” with the volume on high.
Mac will be stopping to kick it on the “RFL” couch on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV Jams and RapFix.MTV.com. It won’t be Miller’s first time on the show, but he and show host Sway Calloway have a lot to catch up on. He’ll break down his June 18 sophomore album and weigh in on the sales battle between himself, Kanye West and J. Cole, though his pick may surprise you.
For Watching Movies, Miller linked up with Pharrell, Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, Tyler, the Creator, Action Bronson and the elusive Jay Electronica. Mac even went as far as handling a chunk of the production under the name Larry Fisherman. “I’ve always kind of produced but not really, so I was like, it’s time that I trust myself and do this. So at the album’s heart, I just depended on myself for this one,” he told us back in May.
Mac isn’t the only big-time rap guests we have lined up. Prodigy and producer Alchemist will also sit down with Sway to talk about their new Albert Einstein LP, which hit stores on Tuesday (June 11). Statik Selektah will also join the show and talk about his upcoming June 18 album Extended Play. To top it all off Rochester, New York, MC Emilio Rojas will close out with a freestyle that you won’t want to miss.
