‘Catching Fire’ Trailer At Comic-Con: A Wish List

San Diego Comic-Con is off to a blazing start, with a number of the hottest, most-anticipated YA properties (we see you, “Divergent”!) firing up exclusive first looks, and the next few days promise more of the same.

To wit, on Saturday (July 20), Lionsgate will march out its box-office victor “The Hunger Games” to debut a brand-new trailer from the series sequel “Catching Fire”, during a Hall H panel with the cast.

The first look, which premiered during this year’s MTV Movie Awards, was heavy on pre-Quarter Quell action, following Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) on the Victory Tour trail, while hinting at the unrest growing throughout Panem and the dastardly solution being hatched by ruling President Snow (Donald Sutherland).

Now, if the “Catching Fire” roll-out follows the same model as “The Hunger Games,” we shouldn’t expect too much arena-centric footage in this new look, as that’s usually reserved for the film’s debut. But it’s not out of the question to expect this second trailer to be much more tribute-centric. With that in mind, here are five things we hope to see among the new “Catching Fire” clips:

The Yellow Envelope
“I volunteer as Tribute!” will no doubt be one of the most indelible movie lines for years to come, and though Katniss’ selection for the 75th annual Hunger Games is much less melodramatic — she finds out through a televised announcement — it’s just as chilling, not to mention a necessary moment to set up a Games-focused trailer.

Finnick, Finnick, Finnick
We Odair you (heh) to find someone who doesn’t have the trident-wielding tease high on their list of literary crushes. Anticipation’s been at a fever pitch for this fan-favorite character from the start, and a few measly stills of his fine form simply aren’t enough. And, seriously guys, we’ll take him however we can get him! Sugar-cube-eating Finnick. Knot-tying Finnick. Walking-around-in-nothing-but-a-fish-net Finnick. Oh yes.

White Wedding
Thanks to a recently released image of Katniss’ pre-Games interview with Caesar Flickerman (Stanley Tucci), we’ve glimpsed the frothy white confection of a gown designer Cinna (Lenny Kravitz) dreamt up for the District 12 victor. But we have yet to see what happens when Katniss takes a twirl — and goes up in flames.

Training Day
Sure, there are 21 other tributes besides Finnick whom Katniss and Peeta must contend with, and we’d like to meet them too — and see their unique skills put to use. Much like in “The Hunger Games” trailer, how about you throw in a training montage, Francis Lawrence?

Waterworks
“This is no place for a girl on fire,” Katniss muses when she first glimpses the new and improved arena. We too are curious to see the revamped starting line, which instead of a forest-hemmed cornucopia boasts a multi-spoked island adrift in a sea of lapping waves. Let the Games begin.

“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” hits theaters November 22.
