Selenators, break out your party hats, because it’s Selena Gomez‘s birthday!
The “Come & Get It” singer celebrates her 21st birthday Monday (July 22), and like many 21-year-olds, she’s planning a big celebration to ring in the milestone year.
“I’m going to have a huge party, so I’m excited,” Gomez told MTV News back in May of her birthday plans. “I’ll have all of my friends. I don’t really celebrate my birthday; I go out to dinner with my friends.”
Gomez continued, “I think my friends are more excited than I am because they are older than me and they are like, ‘We can finally take you places!’ “
No word yet if on-again-off-again boyfriend Justin Bieber will be in attendance, but he does not have any “Believe” tour dates scheduled on Gomez’s birthday. The two were last seen together getting up close and personal at a Fourth of July party held at a Hollywood Hills home.
Yet, the celebration doesn’t stop once Gomez’s birthday ends, because the following day is the release of her much anticipated new album, Stars Dance.
“I want it to be a mixture of everything I’m obsessed with,” Gomez said. “I love to dance and I love to make people dance. It’s the best feeling. Doing ‘Spring Breakers’ was really fun, because Skrillex and Cliff Martinez did the soundtrack, and [Skrillex] kind of inspired me with a baby dubstep, because I have a few songs that have that.”
