Birdman, Mack Maine And Tech N9ne To Boss Up On ‘RapFix Live’

Birdman is a pretty persuasive guy. Not only did the Cash Money CEO sign Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj and Drake, but he was also able to corral non-YMCMB stars like Chris Brown, Rick Ross, R. Kelly, Kendrick Lamar, Meek Mill and Flo Rida for his new July 23 Rich Gang compilation.

The #1 Stunna and Mack Maine will be swinging by “RapFix Live” to talk about the new project on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV Jams and RapFix.MTV.com. Kansas City, Missouri rap star Tech N9ne will also sit down with show host Sway Calloway to discuss his upcoming LP Something Else.

We caught up with Birdman, in the lead up to his “RapFix” appearance to ask him how he was able to get so many stars to appear on his new record. “First the music and knowing that it’s gonna be a great project,” he said before noting that all of his collaborators are attracted to the camaraderie within YMCMB. “All these people on these records are really team related, they’re family to me. For me it’s just the motivation of putting together a great project for our fans and people that support us.”

On Wednesday you can look forward to Baby and Mack Maine telling us how specific collaborations came about, like “Bigger Than Life” with Chris Brown and “We Been On” with R. Kelly.

Tech N9ne also has a connection to the Cash Money camp. In 2011, Lil Wayne reached out to the Strange Music CEO to feature on his The Carter IV LP. On July 30, Tech will drop a big release of his own. Something Else boasts contributions from B.o.B, Wiz Khalifa, Kendrick Lamar, T-Pain, Game and Strange Music artists like Krizz Kaliko, Big Scoob and Mayday. In his first-ever “RapFix Live” appearance, you can expect Tech to break down his new project and his history as one of the top independent rappers in the game.

Catch Birdman, Mack Maine and Tech N9ne on “RapFix Live” Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV Jams and on RapFix.MTV.com. Be sure to join the Twitter conversation using the hashtag #RapFixLive. Send your questions for the artists to @MTVRapFix!
