If Saturday’s 1D Day was a humungous “thank you” to One Direction fans, then Tuesday morning’s (November 26) “Good Morning America” invasion was the Directioners’ “you’re welcome.”
Fans waited in Central Park all night as temperatures dipped into the 20s. With scarves wrapped around their heads, they huddled together until the guys came onstage around 8 a.m. for an interview.
And boy, was it a revealing one. Niall announced that their Where We Are Tour will be extended to North America. Their first stop will be Toronto on August 1. Tickets go on sale December 7.
Then, it turned to the juicy side. When asked who was single, Harry and Niall raised their hands to excited squeals from the packed crowd. Despite talking about dating Kendall Jenner during 1D Day, it seems as though something with Styles has changed in just three days.
Before taking the stage, the guys talked about writing Midnight Memories, which came out Monday and has already topped charts in 96 countries, according to “GMA.”
“If you ask anyone… that adds more pressure,” Harry said about writing on the album. “We were kind of nervous about it.”
“It’s a testament to our fans who got us this far,” Liam added. “We’re able to sit down and enjoy our music.”
Zayn, Liam, Louis, Niall and Harry then got their jam on in big, warm coats. They had insisted on a free concert in NYC, and dressed for the occasion. They sang “Best Song Ever” and “Story of My Life,” taking turns with verses and then busting into a harmonious chorus.
