You didn’t think Shakira and Usher were gone from “The Voice” for good, did you?
Although Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green had recently signed on to take over season five after taking brief hiatuses, the season-four judges are still on for some more head-to-head singing action. According to Entertainment Weekly, NBC has the next two rounds of judges held down. The show will reunite the original judges for the next season, but Shak and Ursher are locked in for season six.
So, if fans were just getting used to Usher’s gleaming-white smile and Shakira’s adorable positivity, don’t fret. They’ll be back.
After Carson Daly had confirmed Aguilera’s return, Shakira told Us Weekly about her departure, but left her statement open for future judging opportunities. “I’m not going to be able to do next season because I have to get back to my motherhood and also get back to the studio, the recording studio, to finish my album, the one that I started working on before I had to deliver a baby and before I took this gig with The Voice,” she said. “So yeah, I have to take a little break. But you never know, I might come back!”

With viewers tuning in multiple days a week, “The Voice” is currently killing the ratings, beating out “American Idol” in March. The show continues next week with its live performances.
