Amanda Bynes Leaves Rehab — Where Is She Headed Next?

Fourth months after being involuntarily committed to a psychiatric ward
following an incident in which she set a fire in a stranger’s driveway, actress Amanda Bynes has completed inpatient treatment at a Malibu, California, facility.

According to People magazine, Bynes, 27, is now continuing her recovery at her parents’ Los Angeles home.

“Amanda and her entire family would like to thank everyone who’s contacted them with good thoughts and wishes for Amanda’s recovery,” read a statement from family lawyer Tamar Arminak. “Amanda has completed her inpatient rehabilitation and she’s feeling better every day.”

Bynes moved from a hospital to a private facility
in Malibu in October after making progress in her fight against mental illness.

“Amanda is making great strides towards recovery. The entire Bynes family would like to ask that they be given some measure of privacy so they can focus on Amanda’s health and well-being,” parents Lynn and Rick Bynes said in a statement in October.

Lynn Bynes was granted a temporary conservatorship
over Amanda following the hospitalization, allowing her to take control of the actresses’ personal and financial decisions. To date, no definitive diagnosis has been revealed for what ails the former Nickelodeon star who retired from the business in 2010. But in Wednesday’s statement from attorney Arminak it was noted that Bynes is working on her next career move.

“She’s now looking at various colleges with the intention of majoring in fashion design,” said Arminak. “She’s mentioned before she’s interested in creating a clothing line. Despite the fact Amanda is no longer in a facility, her outpatient treatment is continuing. She’s very happy to reestablish the loving relationship with her family that she once shared.”

Lynn Bynes will reportedly continue her conservatorship in the meantime.
