‘Anchorman 2’ Trailer Had Us At ‘Hello’: Watch Now!

Will Ferrell’s latest “Legend” doesn’t arrive until December, but he’s keepin’ it classy until then. In a brand-new trailer for that arrived Saturday (May 18), your favorite San Diego news team picks up right where they left off.

The trailer starts with a dramatic voice-over name-dropping some of the greatest men of our time — “Jesus, MacArthur, Jay-Z” — insisting that “the great ones always return. And when they do, one thing’s for sure: Their hair will be perfect.”

The lights go up on Ron Burgundy (Ferrell), Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd), Champ Kind (David Koechner) and everyone’s favorite dim-witted meteorologist, Brick Tamland (Steve Carell).

“We haven’t seen you in a while, America,” Ferrell says with his trademark smirk. “You haven’t changed a bit.”

“I’ve got liquor breath, and I wanna be your friend,” Koechner chimes in, followed by Rudd revealing his favorite new scent: “I got a new cologne; it’s called Venom. It’s pretty much 100 percent snake venom.”

“Happy Easter!” Carell exclaims.

“No, Brick,” Ferrell instructs. “You have to say something fun about the movie. We’re all saying a little individual thought, almost like a little fun catchphrase.”

“Always make sure the parents are around if you hug a child!” Carell offers.

“Just say ‘hello,’ ” Ferrell instructs, followed by Carell’s compliance: “Hello!”

Every Week Is Shark Week On The ‘Anchorman 2’ Set!

But we couldn’t end this reintroduction without Ferrell’s most famous line from the 2004 original, “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.” “Hey! Fat face! You! You stay classy.”

Back in March of last year, Ferrell appeared in character on “Conan” to officially announce the sequel that had been rumored for years. Shooting started in Atlanta a little over two months ago, and photos from the set have been hitting the Web since. Just last week, Kanye West was photographed filming a cameo for the sequel, clad in a wolf T-shirt and black leather pants and jacket.

“Anchorman: The Legend Continues” opens in theaters December 20.
