47 One Direction Fans Treated For Injuries After Peru Concert

by 04/30/14

Forty-seven One Direction fans were treated for asphyxia after fans stormed the Estadio Nacional stadium in Lima, Peru, during their stop on their worldwide Where We Are Tour. No serious injuries or fatalities were reported.

Asphyxia is a lack of oxygen or excess of carbon monoxide that can cause unconsciousness and, at times, death.

According to the U.K.’s The Daily Mirror, as soon as the doors to the 40,000-capacity venue were opened on Sunday, fans rushed through to try to get as close to the stage as possible.

In a video posted online, Niall Horan is heard telling the crowd, “If you don’t want anyone to take us off the stage, make sure you stay back.” Liam Payne added, “Or we’ll have to go, and we don’t want to go.”

It seems the show did, however go on, and according to Mario Cassareto, the head of Peru’s fire service, the situation was “under control,” as the ministry of health set up tents to treat the children, who he says were all between the ages of 12 and 15.

In a statement to The Mirror, One Direction’s rep said “audience safety is always the #1 priority.”

“The planning for this starts with the configuration of the audience on a stadium or arena plan, and where the tickets are sold in that plan. There is always an individual crowd control and security strategy for every One Direction concert,” their rep wrote. “The band’s management employ, in their touring party, the very best crowd control and advance ...

Lil Za Sentenced In Felony Drug Possession Case

by 04/30/14

Lil Za was sentenced on Wednesday (April 30) after pleading no contest to a felony drug possession stemming from a raid of Justin Bieber’s home in January.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office confirmed on Wednesday (April 30) that the 20-year-old rapper, born Xavier Domonique Smith, pleaded no contest to one felony count, of possession of a controlled substance, and one misdemeanor, for damaging a prison phone. He faces three years felony probation, 20 days of community service and ordered to enter a drug program.

Lil Za was arrested on January 14 after police found the substance “in plain view” in Bieber’s Calabasas home. They had obtained a search warrant after Bieber’s neighbor said he and his friends caused close to $20,000 in damage by egging his home.

Shortly after being released, he took to Twitter to address misconceptions in the media, including original reports that cocaine was the substance found in Bieber’s home.

“Honestly , the media is making me someone I’m not,” he tweeted. “But only those in my shoes can relate. … These ppl get paid to make you look bad.”

Against Me!’s Laura Jane Grace Getting Her Own Reality Series

by 04/30/14

As a woman battling gender dysphoria, Laura Jane Grace spent the better part of 31 years completely alone and, in her words, “pretending to be someone else.” But after laying it all out on the table and coming out as a transgender woman in a 2012 interview with Rolling Stone, the lead singer of Florida-bred punk rock group Against Me! finally feels at home.

Such is the premise behind “So Much More,” Laura Jane’s new AOL reality series that not only documents Laura Jane’s adjustment to her new life, but also tells the stories of other gender-variant people she’s met along the way. The series will follow Against Me! on their monthlong tour in support of Transgender Dysphoria Blues.

“I’ve met gender-variant people from all walks of life all at various points in their journey,” she said in a trailer for the series. “Hearing their stories and then being able to relate myself to it is what I need right now.”

It’s all an effort, she says, to make people “feel like they’re not alone in the world” and that “it’s gonna be OK.”

“Life’s a transition, everyone’s in transition. I’m not who I was yesterday and I’m not the person I’m going to be tomorrow. I’m just figuring out as I go along, just as everyone else is doing,” she said.

Back in June of 2012, Laura Jane sat down with MTV News for her first on-camera interview since her RS interview and talked about how talking to other ...

Miley Cyrus Still Sick, Pushes Back Two More Tour Dates

by 04/30/14

Miley Cyrus is still too sick to perform.

After symptoms from her allergic reaction returned, Miley was forced to push back two more Bangerz tour dates, one in Amsterdam on Friday and another in Antwerp on Sunday. She will now perform in Antwerp on June 20 and Amsterdam on June 22.

“After a period of improvement, Cyrus’ symptoms have returned and doctors will not permit her to travel,” read a statement on Miley’s website. “This type of extreme reaction can last up to 27 days and Cyrus must remain under Doctor’s care at this time.”

Miley Cyrus' Tweet

Miley was initially hospitalized on April 15 after experiencing a “severe allergic reaction” to the antibiotic Cephalexin, which she took after getting a sinus infection on the road. It was severe enough for the “Wrecking Ball” singer to push back the remainder of her Bangerz U.S. tour dates to August and leave her “crying” in the hospital.

Amsterdam was supposed to be the kickoff of the European leg of her highly anticipated trek, but it will now start in London. According to the statement, Cyrus is still planning to perform at the city’s O2 Arena on May 6.

Justin Bieber’s Egg Raid: More Details Emerge

Nearly four months after Justin Bieber was accused of egging his neighbor’s home in Calabasas, California, on January 9 to the tune of $20,000 in damages, more details have emerged about the incident.

In a police affidavit obtained by E! News, Detective Ginni Alvarez describes in detail what she saw in surveillance footage from Bieber’s home on the day of the incident. The affidavit was used to justify the police’s search of Bieber’s home days later.

“Upon my review, I observed a male white, who resembled and who I will refer to as Suspect Bieber, run from the direction of Victim Schwartz’ residence and up the driveway at Suspect Bieber’s residence and out of view,” she wrote. “Several other males emerged from Suspect Bieber’s garage door and a black SUV which backed into Suspect Bieber’s driveway.”

She continued that she saw “Suspect Bieber” and his friends run back toward Schwartz’s home. His friends later returned to Bieber’s driveway, where they hid behind cars in the driveway while they looked on. Bieber returned shortly after, and according to Alvarez, they were rather jovial.

“He was approached by the group of males, some of whom Suspect Bieber is observed ‘high fiving,’” she wrote. “Suspect Bieber and the other males appeared to be laughing and celebrating.”

There is, of course, no way to know for sure if the suspect in the video is Justin Bieber. But after reviewing the footage, Alvarez called Schwartz to ask what Biber was wearing during the alleged egging. (Schwartz and his daughter, Jessica, were home on the ...
