Will ‘Prometheus 2′ See Noomi Rapace Battling God?

by 28 mins ago

There are a lot of questions about Ridley Scott’s “Prometheus 2.” Is it happening? When is it happening? What will it be about?

Actress Noomi Rapace, who plays the lone surviving scientist Elizabeth Shaw in the first “Prometheus,” shares these questions. In fact, in her mind, that’s the whole point of the sequel: Questions, and frustration.

“I feel like I’m sharing her curiosity and also her anger,” Rapace told MTV UK in a recent interview. “She can’t go back to Earth. There’s nothing left for her, really. She wants to go back to where she came from — these giant creatures. In her head, that’s the dark paradise, in a way. So, what’s there? I don’t know. I think she wants answers. She wants to know.”

Those answers will not include the xenomorphs from the original “Alien” series, teased at the very end of “Prometheus.” Ridley Scott made it clear that those aliens won’t appear in the continuing “Prometheus” story.

But to hear Rapace tell it, you might not even miss the xenomorphs — because instead of those acid-bleeding monsters, Shaw could square off against a much higher power. As in, the higher power.

“God, maybe — or the devil,” Rapace said when asked what the villains of the “Prometheus” sequel could be. “I can’t wait to go there. I don’t know what we’re going to discover.”

“Prometheus 2″ is currently rumored for a March 2016 release.

‘Sons Of Anarchy’: Will We See Lea Michele’s Gertie Again?

by 12 mins ago

There’s a whole lot of nastiness brewing in Charming, California. The members of SAMCRO have forged new alliances and business opportunities, while getting their hands around the neck of one of their many Judases. Jax Teller’s mother Gemma, meanwhile, is on the edge of a nervous breakdown over what she did to Jax’s wife so many weeks ago. All the while, new enemies and old friends look ready to take their shot at bringing the Sons to justice.

And then there’s Lea Michele.

With so much up in the air, here’s what we’re wondering about this week’s “Sons of Anarchy,” called “Smoke ‘Em If You Got ‘Em.”

1. Will Juice Die Next Week?

FX

I mean, how does he not die next week? After spending the entire season on the run from the club and the law, Juice is finally in SAMCRO’s clutches. What can he possibly do to save himself? Tell Jax the truth about what Gemma did to Tara? Won’t that just send Jax into overdrive?

Then again, this is “Sons of Anarchy,” a show that’s all about curveballs. And this is Juice we’re talking about, a man who has proven to have at least as many lives as a cat. Perhaps there’s still hope — but there isn’t much.

2. Is Nero About To Learn The Truth About Tara?

Jimmy SmitsFX

Gemma looks ready to spill the beans about killing Tara, now that she knows SAMCRO has Juice. She ends the episode with her face buried ...

by 8 mins ago

In a few months from now, Jurassic Park reopens for business — and we have an invitation to prove it.

And the poster is all about making sure you’re ready for the ride:

Starring “Guardians of the Galaxy” leading man Chris Pratt, alongside the likes of Bryce Dallas Howard and Vincent D’Onofrio, “Jurassic World” is said to focus on the reopening of the Jurassic Park so many years after John Hammond’s first attempt to open the theme park ended in violent failure. Now, the dream has been realized, and it’s about to devolve into a nightmare.

“Jurassic World” hits theaters on June 12, 2015.

‘Sons Of Anarchy’ Smokes Out SAMCRO’s Dirty Rats

by 17 mins ago

WARNING: Spoilers Ahead!

Everyone in Charming has skeletons in their closets, and the stench has become too rotten to ignore.

The latest episode of “Sons of Anarchy,” titled “Smoke ‘Em If You Got ‘Em,” smoked out two of the club’s biggest rats, even if only one of them is readily identifiable. In one corner: Juan Carlos “Juice” Ortiz, back in SAMCRO’s clutches. In the other corner: Gemma Morrow Teller, whose horrible actions are finally too much for her to bear.

Here’s how it all went down:

Business As Usual

FX

Now that Henry Lin is behind bars, Jax and the club need to focus on what’s still in front of them: August Marks, who strongly suspects but cannot prove that SAMCRO was behind the attacks on the Triad, threatening the gun business in the process.

To that end, Jax needs to bolster alliances with the Niners and the Aryan Brotherhood, as well as make things right with the Mayans, who were linked up with the Lin Triad. He solves the problems by cutting the Mayans in on the heroin trade in Stockton, with the Aryans serving as suppliers; to get the Aryans over their problems working with “brown,” Jax serves up a van filled with Marks’ dead soldiers, appealing to their 1956 sensibilities.

Jax’s work remains cut out for him, with Lin still alive and looking to cut a deal with the DEA against SAMCRO, and with Marks still alive and after the Sons as well. But for now, Jax has friends in ...

How Did ‘Walking Dead’ Pull Off That Cabin Scene?

by 6 mins ago

With Reporting by Alex Zalben

“It was claustrophobic and incredibly intense — like, tight-wire intense.”

That’s how Chad L. Coleman describes how his big scene at the cabin from the “Walking Deadseason five premiere came together. In the scene, Coleman’s Tyreese squares off against a gum-chewing goon named Martin (played by Chris Coy), a resident of Terminus with a penchant for trash talk. Martin eventually gets his hands around baby Judith’s neck and uses her as a bargaining chip to get Tyreese out of the cabin, and toward a pack of walkers.

The gambit pays off, but what Martin doesn’t count on is Tyreese’s ability to clear out multiple zombies with nothing more than his hands. When Tyreese finishes the walkers, he bursts back into the cabin and punches Martin’s face repeatedly; Tyreese later tells Carol that he killed Martin, though we never see the body.

As it plays out on screen, it’s exactly as Coleman describes: incredibly intense. And the shoot was no different, what with an actual baby on set. Speaking with MTV News, Coleman explained that the baby Judith actress’ parents were on set during the shoot, and a fake double was used as much as possible.

“Chris was on pins and needles about it,” Coleman said of his co-star having to put his hands on the baby’s neck. “The physical act of having to put his hands around her neck, that was only done once. We got her crying, we got his reaction, we got him moving towards ...

Here’s How ‘The Walking Dead’ Baseball Bat Scene Played Out In The Comics

by 16 mins ago

The opening scene of “The Walking Dead” season five premiere was one of the show’s tensest moments yet: Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, Glenn Rhee and Bob Stookey were placed in front of a trough, helpless to watch as four other unfortunate souls were clubbed in the back of their heads with baseball bats, and their throats slashed open with knives.

The baseball bat scene was one of the most sickening sequences of the entire night, and quite possibly the entire series. Thankfully, all four of the main characters involved in the scene survived with their heads and throats intact — but it could have played out very differently, based on a similar scene in the “Walking Dead” comics.

WARNING: Spoilers from “The Walking Dead” comics are ahead!

Unlike HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” which faithfully adapts George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” novels almost to the letter, AMC’s “Walking Dead” often and deliberately deviates from writer Robert Kirkman’s source material, completely skipping scenes from the comics, or adding entirely new ones when inspiration strikes. Daryl Dixon does not exist in the “Walking Dead” comics, for example. Lori Grimes’ death on the show is much different than her death on the paneled page.

Likewise, Terminus is a wildcard, because it’s not in the comics. But there is a memorable baseball bat scene in “The Walking Dead” #100, and the writers were very much calling upon it during the season premiere.

‘Mortal Instruments’ Will Live Again … As A TV Series

by 21 mins ago

Even though the “City of Bones” crumbled at the box office, the world has not seen the last of the “Mortal Instruments” franchise.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, production house Constantin Film has decided to continue the “Mortal Instruments” series … on television!

Written by fantasy author Cassandra Clare, “The Mortal Instruments” follows a young woman named Clary Fray who learns that she’s a Shadowhunter — a human with angelic blood. Six novels exist in Clare’s series, the first of which, “City of Bones,” was the basis of a 2013 feature film that earned a mere $31.1 million at the domestic box office. Based on the lackluster returns, Constantin’s plans for further “Mortal Instruments” movies were shelved, though the production company insisted that the franchise would live on. With the announcement of a TV show, they’re living up to their word.

“It actually makes sense to do [the novels] as a TV series,” Constantin’s Martin Moszkowicz says of the decision to continue “Mortal Instruments” on the small-screen. “There was so much from the book that we had to leave out of the ‘Mortal Instruments’ film. In the series we’ll be able to go deeper and explore this world in greater detail and depth.”

It’s early days yet, which means there are plenty of questions. Who will star in the “Mortal Instruments” series? Will casting carry over from “City of Bones” to the TV show, or will Constantin find new actors to take on Clary, Jace and the others? Will the show ...

‘The Walking Dead’: 7 Burning Questions About The Season 5 Premiere

by 20 mins ago

WARNING: Spoilers Ahead!

The Walking Dead” season five premiered last night, and it was, in a word, intense. The AMC zombie series returned after several months away with one of its most pulse-pounding installments yet — less of an episode, and more of an action movie.

Lives were threatened, lives were lost, lives were saved — and all three of those categories owed some thanks to a woman who just might be the biggest (and most unlikely) badass on the show.

The premiere, called “No Sanctuary,” provided some answers (“How will they get out of the train car?” “How will our heroes survive Terminus?” The answer to both is the same: Violently!), and it left us with some questions, too…

1. Is Carol The Show’s Best Character?

AMC

She’s certainly way up there. Carol started the series as a victim, and now, she’s a victimizer — and a hero. She lost her abusive husband and her beloved daughter. She lost some of her humanity, when she killed Tyreese’s girlfriend Karen to stop the spread of a lethal infection. She lost more of it when she chose to kill little Lizzie, growing deadlier and darker with each passing minute.

But along the way, Carol gained things: The will to survive, and ability to back it up with action. A veritable one-woman army, Carol did her best Sarah Connor and Ellen Ripley impression as she tore through Terminus, providing her allies with ...

‘Walking Dead’ Season Five Premiere: What Will Happen In Terminus?

by 8 mins ago

All aboard the “Walking Dead” train! AMC’s hugely successful (and hugely disgusting) zombie series returns tonight with its first all-new episode since Rick Grimes and his fellow survivors were locked away inside a train car, presumably to be eaten by cannibals masquerading as saviors.

It was a dark ending for a show that knows a thing or two about dark endings. How long until we see some light shining through the world of “The Walking Dead” again? Probably a very long time.

Here’s some of what we’re expecting to see in tonight’s season five premiere:

Lots of Sitting Around Inside of the Train Car

AMC

After all, almost every single series regular is currently trapped in that “A” train. We’re going to spend a meaningful amount of time inside that car, if not quite an entire episode. That’s just how it is.

Lots of Running Around Outside of the Train Car

AMC

This is “The Walking Dead” we’re talking about. We’re dealing with Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, and Michonne, among others. These are not the types of people who take captivity lightly. As Rick warned at the end of season four: “They’re f—ing with the wrong people.” Indeed they are. Expect Rick’s backlash against Terminus to begin tonight, almost immediately.

The Few People Outside of Terminus

Thankfully, the Termites didn’t capture Rick’s entire group. Reluctant allies Tyreese and Carol are still wandering around in the ...

‘Sons Of Anarchy’: What’s Next For Jax, Gemma And Juice?

by 52 mins ago

WARNING: Spoilers Ahead!

“We did this!”

For the first time all season, Juice finally talked some sense, blaming himself and Gemma for the Diosa massacre, and all of the other horrors currently happening on “Sons of Anarchy.” Of course, his lucid comments come mere minutes after murdering an innocent motel employee for no good reason, but that’s “Sons” for you.

The wild final season took some even wilder turns on last night’s episode, “Some Strange Eruption.” Juice and Gemma’s alliance finally fractured, once Juice realized that Gemma was plotting to kill him. Now, the tables are turned, and Juice is the one with the gun on Gemma. But can he pull the trigger?

That’s far from the only source of drama: Jax Teller’s vendetta against Henry Lin became a public affair, as the SAMCRO president confronted Lin for ordering the death of Jax’s wife, Tara. (Little does Jax know, Lin had nothing to do with that murder, but that’s just a minor detail.) Now, Jax needs to plot his next moves against Lin, while also looking into who snitched on the club’s plans in the first place.

So many questions, so few answers. Let’s look at the biggest question marks up in the air right now:

Will Juice Kill Gemma?

No chance. Gemma could easily die this season, but not at Juice’s hand — not right now, at least. There’s still so much tension in the Jax-Gemma relationship; she won’t die until that vein opens up. Juice might physically harm ...
