Mariah Stripped Down To Lingerie, But Will She Bare All For Her New Album?

by 04/30/14

Is Mariah Carey getting ready to turn up the heat with her new album? Mimi is prepping her 14th LP for a sort of surprise release later this year, but this week she appears on the cover of Wonderland’s summer 2014 issue, in quite the racy outfit. Terry Richardson shot Mimi for the UK magazine, which finds her in black lingerie and pearls, toasting with a glass of champagne next to the tagline, “Why are you so obsessed with me?”

Mariah isn’t usually one to shy away from showing skin, but recently those images have been reserved for her Instagram account. Does a cover like this mean that she’s getting ready to go all Rihanna on us, as she gets into full album promo mode?

The-Dream Goes ‘Black’ After Donald Sterling’s NBA Ban

by 04/30/14

On Tuesday afternoon, Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling received a lifetime ban from the NBA, after admitting that it was his voice in a leaked conversation with his ex-girlfriend, making outwardly racist statements. Rappers like Plies and Cassidy have already dropped dis tracks, and The-Dream follows up with the song and visuals for “Black,” addressing racism, classism and other forms of human rights violations.

The clip features images of Sterling and the Clippers players in protest, in addition to glimpses of the civil rights movement, Occupy Wall Street and more. The-Dream’s lyrics flash across the screen, emphasizing the chorus “I feel real black right now.”

The singer-songwriter and producer ends the video for “Black” with a special note.

“Black isn’t just a color. Black isn’t just a race anymore,” he writes. “It’s a feeling and a place from which one feels isolated by the world of the governing elite. Classism is the new racism. This is what black feels like.”

Rihanna And Her Nipples Are Having A Shirtless Moment … Again

by 04/29/14

At this point in Rihanna’s career, there’s a good chance that your mom, dentist, high school physics teacher and, hell, probably even your pet fish have already seen the pop star in various states of sexy undress (thanks to Instagram and many, many magazine covers), but Rih Rih really took it all off for her new Lui cover spread. Rihanna appears topless ‒ actually topless, unless you count a nipple ring as cover up ‒ on the cover of the French magazine’s new issue.

The image was so racy that she was forced to remove it from Instagram, but that didn’t stop her from heading over to Twitter and sharing all of the uncensored photos again. So, in honor of Rihanna completely shedding clothes on the top half, we’re taking a look back at some of her best boob-baring moments of 2014.

Vogue Brasil
Rih was clearly thrilled about landing her Vogue cover feature, sharing multiple shots on Instagram when she finally got the greenlight. The “hands over boobs” shot was our favorite, though.

Courtside At The Barclays Center
Rih and her BFF Melissa Forde were courtside at the Barclays Center to catch the Brooklyn Nets vs. the Toronto Raptors earlier this week. In addition to judging whoever was in her direct line of vision at the moment, Rih also put her nipple ring on display with a sheer white shirt and no bra.

4/20 Celebration
Rihanna celebrated one of her favorite holidays on April 20 ‒ no, not Easter ‒ ...

Bas Doubles Up With Last Winter And ‘Building Blocks’ Premiere

by 04/29/14

Dreamville rapper, Bas, officially debuted his Last Winter EP via Interscope Records on Tuesday (April 29), along with the short clip for his interlude “Building Blocks.”

Features on Last Winter include J.Cole (who appears on the tracks “Lit” and “My N—a Just Made Bail”), Mack Wilds, K-Quick and Irvin Washington.

“Ced Brown and I would be recording in my basement and it’s cold and we’re broke,” Bas explained of the project’s title. “When we would make a hot record, we would look at each other and say ‘last winter,’ like ‘this is our last winter. We are not going to be living like this anymore. We’re going to elevate our situation.’ It became a self-fulfilling prophecy.”

Big K.R.I.T. Gets The Final Word On Kendrick’s ‘Control’ With ‘Mt. Olympus’

by 04/29/14

Big K.R.I.T. hit the 500,000 follower mark on Twitter Monday night, prompting him to debut “Mt. Olympus,” the first single from his upcoming sophomore album Cadillactica.

Just when it seemed like we’d heard the very last word about Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” verse, K.R.I.T slipped in one more line on his ferocious, self-produced track.

“That ‘Control’ beat is like an ugly bitch that everybody done f—ed raw/ Maybe you hit it,” he spits. Guess K.R.I.T never had any intentions of taking a turn on that beat. Listen to “Olympus” below.

Is Jay Z Calling Drake ‘Soft’ With That Lacrosse Line?

There’s absolutely no limit on Jay Z’s creative potential when it comes to throwing subliminal shots at Drake. The two rappers have been lobbing back and forth at each other on their last couple of releases, and it sure seems like Hov took another shot at Drizzy on DJ Khaled’s new single, “They Dont’ Love You No More.” Using “lacrosse” as the dagger, nonetheless.

“Haters wanna ball, let me tighten up my draw string/ Wrong sport, boy, you know you’re as soft as a Lacrosse team,” Hov spits over the Mike Zombie beat.

Draft last took shots on his “Draft Day” freestyle, so Hov took the opportunity to fire back with another sports reference, and particularly a sport that’s pretty popular in Canada. Oh, and it must sting a little bit extra since Mike Zombie, who produced Drake’s smash “Started From the Bottom,” is also a part of the YMCMB rapper’s OVO Sound crew.

The Twitter reactions to Hov’s jab might’ve been even more entertaining than the line itself. Apparently those who’ve actually played lacrosse don’t think it’s such a “soft” sport after all.

Nicki Minaj Locks In Another #1 With ‘The Other Woman’—See Her List Of Wins

Nicki Minaj is hard at work on her upcoming third album, but she already has a great reason to celebrate, even before that project drops. This weekend, Minaj made her big screen debut in the Fox comedy “The Other Woman,” which beat out “Captain American” to land at #1 with big box office sales. Let’s just add that to Nicki’s ever-growing list of #1 achievements. See a few more milestones below.

Pink Friday Climbed To #1
Nicki’s debut Pink Friday couldn’t clinch the #1 spot during its first week on the charts, thanks to some stiff competition from Kanye’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album, but better late than never, right? Pink Friday remained in the top 10 consistently for weeks, finally securing #1 as the record hit the one million sales mark. And that was just the beginning.

Roman Reloaded Debuted At #1
There was no waiting period with Nicki’s second album. Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded debuted at #1 on the charts, with 253, 000 copies sold in week one–surpassing the original sales projections.

“Ice Age” Crushed The Box Office At #1
“The Other Woman” gave us a first glimpse of Nicki Minaj on the big screen, but it wasn’t actually her first film to hit #1. In 2012, Nicki (and fellow YMCMB rapper, Drake) were both featured as animated characters in “Ice Age: Continental Drift.” The family-friendly flick made a big showing during its first weekend at the box office, with $46 million in sales.

What Are Lil Wayne And Mannie Fresh Working On?

Lil Wayne and Mannie Fresh finally back together again? It’s been 10 years since the New Orleans natives last worked together on a project (Weezy’s 2004 album Tha Carter) but it looks like fans might be able to hear some new music from them soon.

Over the weekend producer Charles Pettaway tweeted a photo of himself in the studio with Wayne and Mannie Fresh, leaving us to wonder what exactly they recorded during that session. Wayne is currently prepping Tha Carter V, the final installation in his Carter series, so it would be fitting for Mannie Fresh to finish what he started by adding production to this latest LP.

On the other hand, there’s also been much talk about a Big Tymers reunion. Fans were up in arms when Birdman revealed that Mannie Fresh, one of the original Big Tymers, would not be involved in the reunion, but since then the former collaborators have been patching up their relationship.

“I’ve been talking to Fresh a lot. We talk every other day, we been talking about doing music, so matter of fact we gonna get in,” Birdman told MTV News last year. “Me and Fresh ain’t got no problem, we never had no problem. It’s been a minute and we plan on working again.”

In February, Mannie Fresh told MTV News that he and Birdman were in the process of “negotiating,” before recording any music, and it looks like they’ve gotten past the money talks.
