This 10-Year-Old Feminist Met Hillary Clinton, And Her Reaction Is Everything

by 17 mins ago

By Farah Zermane

A fifth grader from Boulder, Colorado, met Hillary Clinton earlier this week, and a photo of her heartfelt reaction immediately went viral.

Just check out that look of utter joy and wonder washing over Macy Rodman’s face. Do you remember the first time you met one of your role models (if you were ever so lucky)? It probably looked something like that.

The photo, which sparked national coverage, was taken at a campaign event for Colorado senator, Mark Udall. Clinton actually picked Friday and family out of the crowd, as if this moment weren’t magical enough.

Although she won’t be old enough to vote for the former U.S. Secretary of State, should she decide to run for President again in 2016, Macy told 9News that she hopes to one day see a female Commander in Chief.

“I want people to know that your gender doesn’t determine what kind of power you have,” Macy said. “Like how great you can be… I just want people to know girls are awesome, too.”

We couldn’t have said it any better ourselves.

This Guy Beat Cancer And Got Insanely Ripped In The Process

by 35 mins ago

In case you didn’t feel lazy enough already, the story of cancer survivor Zach Zeiler will definitely make you feel like a professional couch potato. In 2010, Zeiler — who hails from Ida, Michigan — was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at 15 years old.

He dropped to 100 pounds following his diagnosis and treatment, but it didn’t damage Zeiler’s spirit. He began working out and building muscle, which led to a dramatic transformation.

“I started lifting after my radiation treatments because I knew it would help me gain weight and look less sickly,” Zeiler told MailOnline. “It was a great way to channel a lot of the anger I felt — and I got addicted to it, it became my passion.”

Zeiler, now 20 and cancer-free, works out for two hours every day. He posts videos of his intense routines to YouTube and shirtless selfies galore on his Instagram. Given his inspiring story and — let’s face it — ripped bod, it’s no surprise he’s an viral internet star with thousands of followers.

(That’s him with his girlfriend, Tara, who has “been by my side through everything,” Zeiler said.)

Here’s a couple more photos and a video from his Instagram because, don’t lie, you know you wanna see them.

Zeiler plans to develop a personal training website in the future, so that he can help people achieve their fitness goals. So, are you motivated to get off ...

Pink Gets Real In You+Me’s Emotional New Video

by 55 mins ago

This past Tuesday saw the release of rose ave., the debut from Pink’s folk-pop project with Dallas Green from City & Colour, You+Me. On Thursday (October 16), they returned with a new video for one of the album tracks, “Open Door.”

Related: Everything You Need To Know About You+Me

The clip was filmed live during a performance in Santa Monica, California. (Not that long ago, I’d guess, considering Pink’s wearing the same dress and hairstyle from her recent appearance on “Ellen.” #iseeyou) It’s simple, understated and arresting — the perfect complement to the song.

“Dear mother/ I know I have been away for far too long,” they softly harmonize as one. “I hope you understand it when you hear this song/ That you taught me how to be right in a world gone wrong.” Later, they follow that up with a nearly identical set of lyrics directed at their fathers.

Longtime fans of Alecia Moore might interpret the song as a bookend of sorts to the singer’s “Family Portrait.”

In that 2001 Missundaztood single, she narrates her parents’ crumbling marriage and the impact it had on her family as a kid. And now, 13 years later, she’s addressing those same relationships through the eyes of an adult.

Bad at filling out bios seeks same.

7 Intense Shows Set In Alaska That Came Before MTV’s ‘Slednecks’

by 3 mins ago

Can you really see Russia from Sarah Palin’s house? We haven’t made the trip and can’t say for sure, but down the street in Wasilla, Alaska, you’re guaranteed to spot at least a few “Slednecks.”

MTV’s newest reality show, which premieres Thursday, October 30 at 10/9c, will follow a group of cold-blooded friends who are just like you and your crew — except they’ll enjoy caribou stew before a slice of pizza and would party on a glacier before even considering a spring-break blowout in Cancun. Different? Yes. Newfangled? Not necessarily.

Turns out, TV’s been tackling shows set in Alaska for quite some time, and the Slednecks have some pretty cool (YUP) company. Check out the list of real-life, televised snowmen, watch the “Slednecks” trailer and stay tuned for the show’s premiere!

Alaska State Troopers

The National Geographic docu-series, which recently wrapped up its sixth season, follows officers from small stations around the state. The 5-0 have done everything from pull drivers over at routine stops to set up moose decoys to catch poachers, and they have no intentions of letting their homeland submit to its crooks and bad guys.

Sarah Palin’s Alaska

Between 2010 and 2011, the former nominee for the office of United States Vice President took over TLC and, with her family by her side, pridefully endorsed her favorite state. The clan fished, hunted caribou and even took a camping trip with Kate Gosselin throughout the series, and Palin made us feel like we were ...

Damien Rice Returns To Break Your Heart On ‘I Don’t Want To Change You’

by 21 mins ago

Damien Rice was put on this earth solely to break our hearts, and after eight years without his gut-wrenching songwriting, he has finally returned. Just in time for the lonely, nostalgia-inducing months of winter that will undoubtedly have you feeling things again, Rice has announced his first new album since 2006.

Out on November 10, My Favourite Faded Fantasy was produced by Rick Rubin, and based on the release of today’s video for “I Don’t Want To Change You,” it will evoke the same kind of unstoppable sadness that his last two albums contained.

For those who are unfamiliar, the Irish singer’s solo debut O snagged international attention back in 2002, and the follow-up, 9, in 2006 was received with similar enthusiasm. Practically the whole world used “The Blower’s Daughter” or “Cannonball” to recover from whatever sadness they were facing at the time, and his new water-soaked video will help a whole new generation cope.

Shot in Iceland and directed by the enigmatic duo Arni & Kinski, Damien stands at the end of a dock, attempting to accept the finality of someone else’s decision. As the lyrics detail his struggle to let go of love, the visuals mimic his battle by rewinding and replaying his plunges into the water. There’s no better imagery to simulate how hard it is to disengage from a failing relationship than jumping in and out of an idyllic, isolated lake in Iceland.

Watch below for yourself, but prepare to tear ...

Will.i.am Is Bringing The World A Whole Collection Of Wearable Tech

by 31 mins ago

Former Black Eyed Peas rapper Will.i.am (a.k.a. William Adams) has been rocking a futuristic look for a while now, boldly incorporating fashion and technology with technicolor plastic hair and jackets that light up Iron Man-style. He may not have always landed on the Best Dressed lists, but no one could say he wasn’t innovative. Yesterday he introduced his latest venture in marrying the worlds of style and technology at Dreamforce 2014 in San Francisco: a smartband collaboration with AT&T called the “i.am.PULS.”

Right now you’re probably all, “Um, Will.i.am, haven’t we seen a hundred of these smart watches? What’s so great about yours?” to which he’d probably respond, “Um, relax anonymous hater, this is cool and new,” and if you take a closer look, you might actually agree. The smartband looks more like a sleek cuff than a clunky smart watch, and in an interview with Fashionista, Will.i.am mentioned how it was specifically designed with fashion in mind, telling the site, “We’re not coming at this from Silicon Road.”

The smartband isn’t all his doing, either. His partnership with AT&T extends to an entire wardrobe of technology-supported clothing and accessories, including backpacks with speakers in them, jackets with chargers to juice your phone up on the go, glasses that ...

Here’s Every T.I. Album Ranked In Order Of Greatness

by 23 mins ago

When T.I. dropped his debut LP, I’m Serious, way back in 2001, a 14-year, nine album career wasn’t promised for the fresh-faced trap star. Though most of that first project went unnoticed by casual rap fans, Tip captivated audiences the second time out on Trap Muzik.

Since then, the King of the South has been on quite the run. He’s amassed 9 albums in almost 15 years — and that’s not counting his mixtapes and P.$.C. group album.

On October 21, Tip will return with Paperwork, and while the LP is a gem on it’s own, we couldn’t help but think about how it stacked against the rest of his dope boy discography.

So here’s all of T.I.’s albums ranked in order of greatness, from I’m Serious to Paperwork.

9. No Mercy

2010 was a rough year for T.I., but the King of the South looked to reclaim his spot after his prison bid. There were some dope moments on No Mercy (“Welcome to the World”), but it was clear he was still trying to find his footing with songs like “Get Back Up.”

8. T.I. vs T.I.P.

The conceptual T.I. vs T.I.P. sounded like a good idea at first, but ended up a schizophrenic effort. The Wyclef-produced “You Know What It Is” and “My Swag” just didn’t fit, but we have to thank the rap Gods for “Hurt” — that track still bangs.

7. I’m Serious

T.I.’s 2001 debut didn’t showcase his full potential. The LP’s single and title track “I’m Serious” found T.I. rapping ...

Justin Bieber’s New Hairstyle Is Really Speaking To Me

by 23 mins ago

Some artists are defined by their iconic outfits. Take Michael Jackson and his band jackets for example. Or Madonna and that inimitable Jean Paul Gaultier cone bra. Others have signature hairstyles they will always be known for. Lady Gaga has her hair bow, and no matter how much older he gets or how his mane changes, the “Justin Bieber haircut” will always look like this:

Those swoopy banged days are over (and have been for a few years now, TBH), but that doesn’t keep me from paying attention to his every snip and split end to this day. What’s the latest in breaking Bieber hair news? This Adidas headbanded style. It’s a whole lotta look:

justinbiebershotsJustin Bieber's Shots

This isn’t the first time Biebsy has dabbled in headbands. There have been skinny elastic ones and paisley 2Pac-channelling bandana ones, but this sweatband he wore for a quick trip to the mall and also posed in for a Shots selfie is reeeeeeally speaking to me. What’s it saying? Oh, y’know, a bunch of stuff!

Here’s a sampling:

How To Pick Up A Girl At A Party, According To Hoodie Allen

by 25 mins ago

Hoodie Allen released his debut studio album, People Keep Talking, this week, which would probably be a good conversation starter if he wanted to pick up a girl at a party.

What else would the 26-year-old say? Or, more importantly, what should you say when you go out this weekend?

That’s what we asked him when he stopped by MTV News this week. And he had some pretty hilarious advice. From making sure they follow you on Twitter to telling them to check out your mixtape, a lot of it was particularly applicable for music stars. And for those who don’t have lots of fans?

“If none of those things apply to you, just be yourself, because most people just want to have a genuine conversation,” he said. “And don’t make yourself look creepy or hit on them. Just be normal.”

Sounds like advice anyone can follow.

43 College Students Went Missing In Mexico Last Month And Nobody Can Find Them

by 2 mins ago

It’s been more than three weeks since 43 Mexican college students mysteriously disappeared after their bus was raided by police. Ever since, their parents and supporters have been marching in the streets and demanding answers amid reports that the students may have been killed by officers after an altercation in the Mexican countryside on September 26.

So, where are they? Nobody knows, but the twisted tale is bizarre — with reports of mass graves, execution-style killings and alleged police collusion with drug cartels. And it’s all the more terrifying in a country that has seen more than its fair share of drug gang-fueled violence over the past decade.

Student Kidnap protestersAnadolu Agency

Tension Had Been Building
The students from the radical, all-male teacher training college Raúl Isidro Burgos Rural Teachers College of Ayotzinapa were headed to the town of Iguala last month to raise money for protests against what they said were discriminatory hiring practices of teachers that favor urban students over rural ones. While trying to hitchhike back to their college — known for its strident, leftist leanings — police claim the students hijacked three buses from a downtown bus terminal.

Municipal police trailing the bus convoy reportedly shot at the buses during the chase and when they stopped the vehicles, a number of students got out and walked away, but at least 20 were reportedly taken away in patrol cars. Three hours later, some of the students returned to the site of the attack ...
