This Tourist Asked Beyonce And Jay Z Who They Are — And Lived!

by 1 hour ago

Free life lesson: if you’re going to film Jay Z and Beyoncé taking daughter Blue Ivy on a private tour of The Louvre in Paris, you should at least know who they are.

A tourist-turned-wannabe paparazzo made a major faux pas when he tried to get footage of the On The Run Tour headliners making their way into the historic French museum.

“Who is he?” the cameraman asked about the world-renowned rapper from Brooklyn.

The Magna Carta… Holy Grail MC then gave the best response ever as he walked by with his daughter in his arms and his super-famous wife — who was busy taking photos of her own — trailing behind.

“Who are you?” he retorted with the steeliest gaze this side of Marcy Projects.

The uninformed videographer tried to laugh it off, but come on. Has this guy literally never seen or heard about hip-hop’s royal family? Has he even heard of the Internet?

Mary J. Blige And Disclosure Up Their Bond To Bestie Status In ‘Right Now’

by 1 hour ago

Mary J. Blige hits the studio in London Town for her new music video, “Right Now.”

The black and white clip finds the “Whole Damn Year” singer writing and recording song for her upcoming LP, The London Sessions, with her new best buds Disclosure, the British electronic music duo that produced the track.

The bond MJB shares with her collaborators really shows, from the hugs they share to the cohesive fusing of their respective R&B and pop-meets-house sounds.

Previously, the blond-coifed chanteuse worked with Disclosure on their song, “F For You.”

The London Sessions, the multiple Grammy winner’s thirteenth studio album that features songs co-written by the likes of Naughty Boy and Sam Smith, is scheduled to drop on December 2.

Why Are Kristen Stewart And Jimmy Fallon Wearing Elephant Masks?

by 8 mins ago

Hours before Kristen Stewart’s appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” aired on Tuesday (October 7), some, um, interesting photos were released online. In them, the “Camp X-Ray” actress looks casually stunning, or at least as casually stunning as you can be in a fuzzy, lime-green sweater and leather skirt.

And then came the elephant masks.

While Just Jared says that the two played a game of “Ring Around The Nosy,” wherein they both try to pick up rings with their brightly colored, super-phallic trunks, I’m still filled with so many questions. Like, do they know that they look like they’ve got wangs for noses? Or, are they just trolling the censors? But most of all, WHY.

Oh hey, Kristen Stewart.

jimmy fallon, kristen stewartNBC/Getty Images

You gonna talk to Jimmy Fallon about your new movie, “Camp X-Ray”?

jimmy fallon, kristen stewartNBC/Getty Images

Wait, what are you doing with those vaguely phallic elephant masks, Jimmy?

jimmy fallon, kristen stewartNBC/Getty Images

No, don’t put them on your faces! Don’t you know what this looks like?!

jimmy fallon, kristen stewartNBC/Getty Images

OH MY GOD, KRISTEN, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE.

jimmy fallon, kristen stewartNBC/Getty Images

Oh, and I suppose you’re gonna try to pick those rings up with your trunks.

Play a little game, just like that? Like you don’t have ...

Leighton Meester Hates ‘Everyone But You’ In The New ‘Life Partners’ Trailer

by 52 mins ago

By the looks of the new trailer for “Life Partners,” this Leighton Meester vehicle might just be the accessibly esoteric, gay-straight, all-female, buddy-buddy comedy you’ve always wanted to see — even if you never knew that exactly, because how.

The “Gossip Girl” alum stars as Sasha, a lesbian with pretty DGAF tendencies who is best friends with Gillian Jacobs’ more straight-laced straight lady character, Paige. The two have made a pact that Paige won’t marry until Sasha legally can (how Jack Antonoff/Lena Dunham of them), but that was before Tim (played by Meester’s IRL husband, Adam Brody) proposed to Paige. A whacky, yet touching, romp presumably ensues.

“Life Partners” also features Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe as Jen, and it is slated to hit On Demand and iTunes on November 6, with a December 5 theatrical release to follow according to the film’s website. Susanna Fogel directs, and she and Joni Lefkowitz wrote the screenplay.

Bad at filling out bios seeks same.

Rome Fortune’s Small VVorld Album Cover Is So Good, You Just Have To Listen

by 1 hour ago

Rome Fortune continues to champion Atlanta’s avant-gardist movement with his new free LP, Small VVorld.

Besides possibly having the best album cover art of the year, the 11-track project, which features experimental, trippy trap beats by Four Tet, Bassnectar and Blood Diamonds, is a cohesive look inside the rapper’s rather eclectic experiences in the ATL.

“Maybe I just live with a clip, never empty, maybe I just live in the past, broke and friendly/ I just broke into your mind, don’t forget me, I just think I’m on my grind heaven sent me,” he raps on the standout track, “One Time For.”

Other notable songs include the ILoveMakonnen-assisted “FriendsMaybe,” the Pat Lukens-produced “Why” and “4 Seasons,” which features another artist pushing the boundaries of hip-hop, OG Maco.

“Makonnen and Maco were more so late additions to the project,” Rome told Billboard. “I wanted to have a clear representation of what a lot of the new artists from Atlanta are. That’s different. It’s a few people genuinely doing their own thing so I wanted to embrace and showcase that.”

Small VVorld is now available for download here.

The Definitive Style Ranking Of ‘Hocus Pocus’ Characters

by 1 hour ago

Smell that? That odor of candy corn wafting through the air means Halloween is upon us. And if you’re anything like me, that probably means you’re coordinating your annual Hocus Pocus viewing party right about now. It’s just one of those feel-good seasonal movies about women coming back from the dead to eat children’s souls that you can’t not watch year after year after year, you know?

It’s also a timeless classic that boasts some of film’s most fashionable fictional characters. In honor and support of that FACT, here’s the definitive style ranking of the biggest Hocus Pocus characters, according to me. (If you have re-ranking suggestions, you can try taking them up with me in the comments or on Twitter, but … *achem*)

21. Emily Binx

emily-binx-hocus-pocusDisney

She doesn’t get much air time (SPOILER ALERT: she dies pretty early), but that’s not why she’s ranked so low. There’s just not a whole lot to this look. And sure, Chanel Paris-Dallas is sort of bringing back Puritan chic, but I’m just not buying it. BYE EMILY!

20. Book

book-hocus-pocusDisney

Buhhhh, OK, for starters Book is made of HUMAN SKIN, so goodbye. But also, Celtic accessories (or are these considered tattoos??? IDK) are soooo early aughts. I guess given that this movie premiered in the early ’90s, that makes Book ahead of the trend, but this is 2014 and I’m saying no to you, Book.

19. Fake Cop

Tinashe’s New Album Aquarius: 3 Must-Hear Tracks

by 38 mins ago

The stereotypical Aquarius would probably see a lot of themselves in Tinashe’s debut studio album — out Tuesday (October 7) — even if they don’t want to talk about it right now, OK? The 17-track release stays cool and collected from start to finish, but a closer listen reveals a whole lot of chaos boiling just beneath its icy surface.

For every time 21-year-old Tinashe Kachingwe detachedly brags about how much she loves getting “2 On” or making a “Thug Cry” on Aquarius, she follows it up with some tender introspection. The last remnants of a crumbling relationship come crashing down with a whisper on “Pretend,” and “How Many Times” sees our lady getting unabashedly vulnerable behind closed doors — and sampling Janet Jackson’s Control-era classic, “Funny How Time Flies (When You’re Having Fun),” while she does it.

In placing her Water Bearer status front and center, Tinashe creates yet another reason to invite the inevitable comparison to Beyoncé — hallowed be her name. Lest we forget, the reigning queen of mainstream R&B has fully owned her inner Virgo ever since her Dangerously In Love days, debuting with not one but two songs (“Signs” and “Gift From Virgo”) dedicated to her perfectionist-leaning sun sign.

But Tinashe’s style traces its lineage through a different, less dazzling crop of R&B singers (think Aaliyah), and her appeal often lies in how far from “Flawless” she can fall: She seethes in lieu of confrontation, she doubts ...

‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ Promo Introduces World’s Smallest Woman

by 24 mins ago

The cast of “American Horror Story: Freak Show” (which returns on October 8) is full of remarkable performers, but few have stories as inspirational as Jyoti Kisange Amge’s.

The actress stands only 23 inches tall and weighs only 11 pounds, and she’s fulfilling a dream by joining the cast of “American Horror Story” as Ma Petit.

You can watch a featurette about Amge above and learn more about her incredible story.

Writer/editor for MTV. If it involves cowboys, spies, or hitmen, I'm there. All three would be ideal.

J.K. Rowling’s Mystery Tweet Has Been Solved: Here’s What It Means

by 27 mins ago

You’re crazy for this one, J.K.!

After two days, the screaming can finally end, because someone solved the “Harry Potter” author’s Twitter riddle at long last.

Rowling, who yesterday mentioned that oh ho-hum she’s working on a new book nbd, dropped an anagram as well: “Cry, foe! Run amok! Fa awry! My wand won’t tolerate this nonsense.”

After several hints from the author on Twitter and oh-how-we-wish-it-were-true guesses (“Harry returns. Won’t say any details now. A week off. No comment!” SCREAMING SCREAMING SCREAMING), Rowling declared a winner:

“Newt only meant to stay in New York for a few hours,” the decoded anagram reads. This is, according to Rowling’s non-anagram tweets, part of the treatment for “Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.”

“The solution is the first sentence of a synopsis of Newt’s story. It isn’t part of the script, but sets the scene,” Rowling tweeted this morning.

Well, even if it’s not more of the Boy Who Lived himself, we’re always happy to get a little more Potter in our lives. It’s safe to say, after clinging to Rowling’s every tweet for the past few days, that we’re (wait for it….wait for it…) under her spell. [Editor note: Booo.]

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” opens in theaters on November 18, 2016.

What Ban? Richard Sherman Wears Beats By Dre Headphones During Monday Night Football

by 2 mins ago

It recently announced that, the NFL announced that it was banning players from wearing Beats by Dre headphones during televised warm-ups, games and post-game interviews. Richard Sherman didn’t seem too concerned with the rule change on Monday night, though.

The Seattle Seahawks cornerback was spotted rocking his Beats on camera a couple of times during the pre-game telecast on ESPN, including walking in the tunnel and while on the field. The shots were captured by BroBible and The Big Lead, respectively.

The Compton native is endorsed Beats — and even had a commercial earlier this year, which you can watch below, and created a playlist for Beats Music — but the NFL’s ban overrides any individual deals, according to Mashable.

Observing Sherm’s attitude and the way that he carries, himself, though, something tells me he may eat whatever fine comes along rather than switching things up.
