Watch Tinashe Take Out Her Lover In The New ‘Pretend’ Video

by 7 mins ago

Picturesque landscapes serve as the backdrop forTinashe’s beautiful, though kind of emo, new music video for “Pretend.”

The JODEB-directed clip finds the “Bet” singer going through the motions with her boyfriend, all the while obviously longing for her collaborator, A$AP Rocky.

“Let’s pretend I ain’t your friend, so we can get it on again/ Let’s pretend we never met, a good excuse to play forget, Let’s pretend you never lied, so I can give it up all night,” she sings as library books rain down in cinematic fashion.

Pretty Flacko, of course, puts in some quality time at the strip club, where he finds his co-star’s bae acting less than gentlemanly.

“To never fool around with you was my best deed/ Stand up, got a heart up on my left sleeve/ When I could find another lover by the next week,” he raps after confronting her cheating lover.

For the closer, the “Fashion Killa” MC pulls out the classic Lincoln Continental with the suicide doors to “rescue” the 21-year old chanteuse from her pretend relationship.

The follow-up single to “2 On,” “Pretend” is set for Tinashe’s debut album, Aquarius, due out October 7.

Chris Brown Calls TMZ’s Harvey Levin A ‘Devil’ Out To ‘Destroy’ Him

by 36 mins ago

Chris Brown is not pleased with TMZ, and he’s particularly upset with the site’s founder, Harvey Levin.

“What the devil looks like in person. Lol,” Breezy captioned an Instagram post on Monday afternoon (September 29), with a picture of Levin. “You sad little man. You’ve been trying for years to destroy me. It won’t work. Your efforts are flattering.”

The post, which he quickly took down, was likely a response to a story that appeared on the gossip site earlier today with the headline, “CHRIS BROWN SHOVES WOMAN Blocks Her Attempted Kiss.”

The story includes two videos — each of the same moment, but from different angles — that show CB walking through a crowded, loud nightclub while holding hands with his girlfriend, Karrueche Tran. A woman grabs the X singer’s face, appearing as if she’s trying to kiss him, and he attempts to make his way past her.

“When you look back on your life when it’s that time for you to depart, what can u actually say you’ve accomplished in life?” Brown continued in his photo caption. “Bringing people down and being the number one source for negativity. Life’s too short homie. Find some sort of happiness. You are a grown ass man. God bless you bruh.”

Nas Hears Your Old Droog Rumors For The First Time And His Reaction Is Priceless

by 20 mins ago

Throughout his illustrious 20 year career, Nas has surely heard a ton of rumors about himself, but the latest tidbit surrounding him has God’s Son truly baffled.

Back in June, a Brooklyn-based rapper by the name of Your Old Droog dropped his debut self-titled EP on his Soundcloud without much of a visual presence. He wasn’t pictured on his album cover and there were no accompanying music videos, a rarity for a new MC in 2014.

What Droog did have was a 10-track project with vintage New York beats, and a vocal tone and flow which reminded many of Nas.

Initially comments on various blog sites and reddit went from: “Hey, Droog sounds like Nas” to “Nas put out a secret EP under the name Your Old Droog.” Things get even more strange when you’re the one who has to explain this hip-hop conspiracy theory to Nas for the first time.

“What do you mean a secret Nas album,” he questioned during an interview with MTV News on Monday (September 29).

The focus of the interview was Nas’ new documentary “Time is Illmatic,” which is set to open in select theaters on October 1 and then become available On Demand on October 3. We spoke about the doc and then took a bit of a turn.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” Nas said with a puzzled look on his face.

Droog, has since released a freestyle video and preformed at a sold-out show ...

Aretha Franklin’s ‘Rolling In The Deep’ Cover Demands Your R-E-S-P-E-C-T

by 27 mins ago

Stop what you’re doing. No matter what it is, it pales in comparison to Aretha Franklin’s cover of Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep.” Why? Because Aretha Franklin. Also, Adele. End of reasons.

The legendary Queen of Soul unleashed her version of the 21 single on Monday (September 29), and it truly must be heard to be believed. If the sliding switch from chest to head voice on “rolling in the deeeeeeep” doesn’t give you your entire life, then the totally unexpected interpolation of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell’s “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” toward the end will. Check it out, below.

The track comes to us from the “Respect” singer’s upcoming covers album, Aretha Franklin Sings The Great Diva Classics. Out October 21, the LP will also include Franklin’s take on Etta James’ “At Last,” Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive,” The Supremes’ “You Keep Me Hangin’ On” and Prince’s “Nothing Compares 2 U,” later made famous by Sinéad O’Connor.

Wait, so I guess that means that Aretha has dubbed “Rolling In The Deep” a “Great Diva Classic”? I never thought Adele would ever top her Oscar and her M.B.E. honors, but here we are.

The Rich Gang Mixtape Is Finally Here And All Is Right With the Rap World

by 32 mins ago

Birdman has guided the careers of a few rap greats. His resume includes the Hot Boys, Lil Wayne, Drake and Nicki Minaj, so when Baby told us he has a vision for Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan, we couldn’t help but be excited.

On Monday (September 29) the duo (with Birdman in tow) released their first joint project, Rich Gang: The Tour, Part 1.

“I met Thug, flew him to L.A. to come see me and we connected from there, then Quan came to the table. I always believed in unity, that’s always been my thing,” Birdman told MTV News on September 11, when we traveled to Atlanta to cover a video shoot for “Flava.”

“They were already working on a project, them two, and I said, ‘Let’s do it together. Let me take it to the next level for y’all, ’cause I see y’all got the potential and the talent’,” he continued.

Mentally been many places, but I'm Brooklyn's own. Hip-hop gives me life!

Nicki Minaj’s New Hair Is Shorter Than Ever

by 12 mins ago

We’re just gonna cut to the chase, people: Nicki Minaj’s long hair is gone. Well, at least for now. Sunday night (Sept. 28), she posted a pic of herself trying out a cheek-length blunt bob, and we have to admit—even though we can only see, like, 50% of the new look, we’re 100% into it.

Related: Here’s Proof That Nicki Minaj Is Such A Tease

She repped a long bob back in 2010, but this time around, she went super short, officially joining the ever-growing list of baby-banged ladies like Lady Gaga and Audrey Hepburn. Along with the photo of her new look, she wrote, “Thx 4 my makeup Uzo short bob by oscar bra by my crazy “mother” Rushka #ItsASecret.” (Oscar refers to her hair stylist Oscar James, whose pic we decided to steal instead since it’s less *achem* NSFW.)

But dudes, we gotta know what’s up with the #ItsASecret hashtag. Just now, Nicki revealed that she’s “making an announcement” at midnight PST, so that leaves y’all *does math quickly in head* 9 hours to cancel any plans you thought you had tonight.

Ben Affleck On ‘Batman V Superman’ Inspiration: ‘You Steal From The Best’

by 14 mins ago

Reporting by Josh Horowitz

Frank Miller’s “The Dark Knight Returns” forever changed the character of Batman, and that impact has been felt in nearly every film featuring the Caped Crusader. “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” just happens to pull more directly from the iconic run than others.

When we spoke with the newest Bruce Wayne, Ben Affleck, during the press day for “Gone Girl,” he explained the simple reason that director Zack Snyder is pulling some of his film’s imagery directly from Miller.

“I think if you’re smart, you steal from the best,” he said.

Back at San Diego Comic-Con, where the first footage from “Dawn of Justice” premiered, we all found out just how close the superhero meet-up would come to “The Dark Knight Rises,” and Affleck isn’t shy about admitting the source of inspiration.

“I do think Zack was heavily influenced by ['Dark Knight Returns'],” he said. “Everyone’s influenced by that. It’s the seminal work. I don’t think there’s any [Batman movies] that have been made without drawing from that book because it’s so good.”

“Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” opens in theaters on March 25, 2016.

Writer/editor for MTV. If it involves cowboys, spies, or hitmen, I'm there. All three would be ideal.

We Love This Sesame Street ‘Twilight’ Parody Like Edward Loves Bella

by 15 mins ago

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” may have dawned two years ago, but that doesn’t mean we’re done learning from it. We learned about love! We learned about loss! We learned about just how sparkly vampires can get in the sun.

And today, we’re using it to learn about executive function.

Yes, that’s right, Sesame Street has worked its magic on a “Breaking Dawn” parody, “Twilight: Breaking Cookie,” starring Cookie Monster as cookie-loving yumpire Shortbredward. Shortbredward loves Belly, and Belly loves Shortbredward, but will Shortbredward’s cookie-lust get in the way of his relationship? Jealous Bacob the Wolf does, and he never misses an opportunity to show up with his alluring chocolate chip cookies, hoping to tempt Shortbredward away, and Belly into his cookie-making arms.

Look, it’s supposed to teach kids about controlling their impulses, but there’s one impulse that we can’t control: watching this clip over and over. Start the slow clap now, because we’d watch a whole movie of this concept.

Check out the clip below.

Holland Roden Slays In BCBGeneration’s Fall Campaign

by 3 mins ago

Life is hard when Teen Wolf is on hiatus, y’know? You miss your wolf pack pals, you long to hear a joke from Stiles, and you try (and most likely fail) to pair patterns like Lydia. Well Lydia IRL—a.k.a. Holland Roden—has eased the pain of missing our faves a little by starring in a campaign for BCBGeneration’s fall collection. Not only starring, but slaying, TBH.

Holland RodenBCBGeneration

Holland is fully ready for fall in a slew of sweaters, skirts, and jackets that have us ready for colder weather. A houndstooth skirt with a turtleneck? Yes, please.

Holland RodenBCBGeneration

Even offscreen, Holland reps Lydia’s love of florals. She pairs a flow-y, flower-y skirt and a similarly printed clutch with a waffle-stitch pullover. Hi, perfect Sunday outfit.

Even better than the images, though, is the accompanying video, which features Holland walking through the streets of New York in a bunch of different looks from the collection.

My hair is never gently tossed around like that when I’m outside, just sayin’.

Why Is 50 Cent’s Son Taking Pictures With Floyd Mayweather?

by 9 mins ago

50 Cent and his son aren’t on the best of terms, but it looks like Marquise Jackson is really trying to rub that in his father’s face.

The teen has been popping up in photos with Slowbucks over the past few months — despite his father’s very public falling out with the streetwear entrepreneur after Summer Jam, and last week he shared a photo of himself hanging with Floyd Mayweather, on Facebook.

The timing is notable since Fif has spent about a solid month throwing shots at the boxer, even accusing him of being illiterate.

So what does 50′s son have to gain from these photos ops? If his goal is to piss off pops, he’s probably succeeded, but hopefully Mayweather is happy to give him a weekly allowance when he needs it.
