50 Cent Sends A Heartfelt Message To His ‘Angel’ And Late-Grandmother

by 34 mins ago

50 Cent has never held back his feelings when it came to his late-grandmother Beulah Jackson, always praising her in song and in interviews. On Tuesday (September 23), the tough-as-nails rapper posted a heartfelt message on Instagram for the woman that raised him.

“My angel (Beulah Jackson) God has blessed me with letting her see me win. She was proud of me, now how i see my self is all that matters,” he wrote to caption the photo collage, which placed his grandmother alongside two white doves.

MTV News confirmed Mrs. Jackson’s passing through a source last week, but the exact time and cause of her death is unknown. Back in June, Fif revealed to New York radio host Angie Martinez, during her former show on Hot 97, that his grandmother was recently sick.

“If I had one person in the world that I could give everything that I have to and I’d be comfortable with it, it’ll be my grandmother,” he said then.

Mentally been many places, but I'm Brooklyn's own. Hip-hop gives me life!

Watch A Supercut Of Every Single Time Batman’s Parents Have Died On Screen

by 34 mins ago

Batman just wouldn’t be Batman without his unquenchable thirst for vengeance. Yeah, sure, it’s too bad that he had the most traumatic childhood ever, but Gotham City would be left without a protector if Bruce had grown up not brooding and trembling with rage all the time.

With Monday’s (September 22) premiere of “Gotham” on Fox, viewers were treated yet again (maybe “treated” isn’t quite the right word for it?) to the Dark Knight’s origin story — the very beginning of it, anyway — just like in the original 1989 “Batman” film, “Batman Begins,” “Batman: Arkham Origins” and many, many more. Even the squeaky-clean 1970s “Super Friends” cartoon has young Master Bruce losing his parents.

Well, New York Magazine’s Vulture blog has collected (and overlapped!) all of these scenes in one super, super f–ked-up supercut. It’s a Thomas and Martha Wayne massacre, and is basically the opposite of Prozac:

You think there’s a chance Zack Snyder will leave this out of “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice“? Note to the Wayne family of future Batman timelines and universes: Maybe you should stay the hell out of a place called “Crime Alley,” even though you probably won’t?

Hilary Duff May Be Dancing In ‘All About You,’ But Don’t Expect The Video To Be ‘Super Sexy Time’

by 39 mins ago

Ever since I watched the teaser for Hilary Duff’s “All About You” video, I’ve literally been counting the minutes until the clip premieres — and trying to learn some of those dance moves.

Luckily for me, the wait is almost over as the video is set to drop on Wednesday (September 24), and we’ll finally get to see Hilary bring her folky pop track to life.

In the teaser, Hilary busts a move, waving around shirts and line-dancing with a group of ladies. But don’t expect this dance to turn super-scandalous, as Duff made sure the choreography was “more me.”

“The choreography was actually pretty easy, but it was a lot of rehearsals and I wanted to be so particular because I’m not, like, a dancer and I didn’t want to be, like, super-sexy time dancing,” Hilary told MTV News at the iHeartRadio Music Festival.

“I wanted something different about it that was more me. The choreographers were amazing and came up with a cool line dance.”

For the video, directed by “Chasing The Sun” mastermind Declan Whitebloom, Hilary decided to take on a “simple,” “cool” and “different” vibe, while still giving us a little bit of romance.

“The concept is, like, I meet a guy at a coffee shop, he drops a record and I pick up the record, and I kind of find him throughout the day. So, there is a little bit of a love story going on there,” Hilary ...

How Well Do You Know Your Movie Aliens? Take Our Quiz

by 45 mins ago

While watching “Edge of Tomorrow” earlier this summer, we thought many things — like, you know, “this is a really fun movie,” and “Emily Blunt should really be in everything.” But we also thought that the aliens in the film, the Mimics, looked extremely similar to a plethora of other movie aliens, what with their spider-like tentacles and exoskeletons and all.

Telling one movie alien apart from another is no easy task, especially when blockbusters tend to borrow so heavily from the ghosts of Ridley Scott and J.J. Abrams’ past. So, with that said, let’s see how you do!

MTV Taste Test: We Ain’t Afraid Of No Ghostbusters Donuts

by 48 mins ago

This year is the 30th anniversary of “Ghostbusters,” and the 25th anniversary of “Ghostbusters II.” So how best to celebrate? With two themed donuts from Krispy Kreme, of course!

The limited edition Ghostbusters and Stay Puft Marshmallow confections are available at stores, but the good (delicious) folks at Krispy Kreme were nice enough to drop a dozen or two over at the MTV offices. So what did we think of these desserts? Did bustin’ our tummies make us feel good? Or were they something strange in the neighborhood? Watch the video above to find out!

The “Ghostbusters 30th” and “Ghostbusters II 25th” Anniversary editions are now available on Blu-ray at Ghostbusters.com.

7 Jennifer Lawrence Roles You Totally Forgot Happened

by 5 mins ago

Sure, we all know Jennifer Lawrence: She’s the girl on fire, Katniss, our dream BFF. She’s the one who, when she murmured “thank God for me” in “American Hustle,” we were like yes, totally, thank God for you! She’s mystical as Mystique in the “X-Men” franchise, and strikes a bullseye in “The Hunger Games” movies. Who could forget her in anything?

Um, us, as it turns out. See, before she was Oscar Winner Jennifer Lawrence, she was a young actress trying to make a name for herself through TV guest spots, commercials and indies. Even after “Winter’s Bone,” Lawrence still had a few less-seen flicks.

Ahead, seven Jennifer Lawrence roles in TV and movies we totally forgot about.

1. “My Super Sweet 16″ (2007)

JLaw turned heads as a spoiled rich kid in a promo for MTV’s “My Super Sweet 16,” the role that earned her her SAG card.

2. “Monk”

Don’t bother looking for her on the court — gf is inside the mascot suit. Yeah, keep watching. Oh, there she is. Future Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence, everyone!

3. “Cold Case”

Lawrence has the schoolgirl thing down pat in this guest spot on “Cold Case.” Check out her dramatic interview as the daughter of a murder victim in the clip above.

4. “The Poker House”

In this 2008 film, years before she’d pick up Katniss’ bow, Lawrence played Agnes, a teen with her mind on justice.

5. “Medium”

There she is, all covered in blood. To be real, JLaw sometimes pops up in our dreams ...

‘True Detective’ Season 2 Officially Announces Its Stars AND Its Plot

by 23 mins ago

After months of speculation and way too many hashtag jokes, the second season of HBO’s “True Detective” is officially shaping up.

Vince Vaughn is officially joining Colin Farrell, who recently confirmed reports that he would take on one of the lead roles for creator Nic Pizzolatto’s next yarn.

HBO also revealed a vague logline (via The Hollywood Reporter), which lines up with the details we’ve previously heard. “Three police officers and a career criminal must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder.”

On top of that, character details for Farrell and Vaughn’s roles further clarify the story. Farrell will apparently play a cop named Ray Velcoro, who’s described as “a compromised detective whose allegiances are torn between his masters in a corrupt police department and the mobster who owns him.”

The description for Vaughn’s character may connect some dots. Frank Semyon is “a career criminal in danger of losing his empire when his move into legitimate enterprise is upended by the murder of a business partner.”

There are two more detective roles that have yet to be confirmed. One appears to be locked down by “Friday Night Lights” alum Taylor Kitsch, but there has yet to be an official word about his involvement. The other is reportedly a female role, which has attracted actresses like Elisabeth Moss, Rosario Dawson and Rachel McAdams.

As previously reported, “Fast & Furious 6″ director Justin Lin will direct the first two episodes of season two.

The second season of “True ...

These Little Monsters Are Crying, Going Broke And Cheering Over Lady Gaga’s Cheek To Cheek

by 26 mins ago

“That Lady Gaga — she’s really talented,” my dad said over the phone Monday after hearing selections from her and Tony Bennett‘s Cheek To Cheek on NPR. “She has a wonderful voice,” Dad Ehrlich — a.k.a. the newest of all Little Monsters — added, and I could tell he was smiling.

Well, Dad wasn’t the only one raving Tuesday (September 23) when Gaga’s latest release — after 2013′s ARTPOP — dropped. A selection of jazz standards as reimagined by Gaga and the 88-year-old icon, the record seems to have reached Little Monsters of all ages, their paws poised above keyboards and ready with the praise.

Check out our favorite reactions — aside from my dad’s because he doesn’t have Twitter — below:

1. Some are into her art (pop).

Preach.

2. Some are using this opp to bond with grandma…

…and go to Belgium. Not sure what that last part has to do with anything, but, cool! Bring us back a waffle?

3. Some think it’s the perfect music with which to fall into fall.

Can we tempt you with a Pumpkin Spice Four Loko?

4. Others are really into jazz now.

Somewhere, Cole Porter is smiling…

5. Some see the record as a release from the mundanities of life…

… or at least three-hour lectures.

6. Others see it at proof of Mother Monster’s undeniable superiority.

Paws up!

7. Others are using the album as incentive.

We hope you nab that part!

8. Still others are just kind of crying.

Someone get this Monster a tissue.

9. While others ...

11 People Whose Epic Walk-Outs Rival The ‘F–k It’ Weed Newscaster

by 1 min ago

We’ve still got a pretty serious buzz from Charlo Greene’s amazing “f–k it” quitting video, in which the KTVA broadcast reporter resigned in the middle of a broadcast after revealing her secret identity as leader of the Alaska Cannabis Club.

It was gangster to the max and it made us think about the grand, storied history of quitting videos that have made taking that job and shoving it a shared experience. And so, we give you our 11 favorite “you can’t fire me because I quit” clips:

1. Gone, Gone Gone
Marina Shifrin is magic. Doubt it? Check her out dancing to Yeezy’s “Gone” as she records with multiple angles in her former workplace at 4 a.m. before dropping the mic forever.

2. The Big Reveal
The boom box, the dramatic music, the chair over the head. And, of course, the tearing open of the shirt. Bravo.

3. Kiss My Brass
Dude was so sick of being treated like s— by his bosses at a hotel that he hired his buddies in a marching band to help play him off.

4. Picture Perfect
Although this was a hoax, she sent all the employees at her job a series of photos that wished them well. Except Spencer, because he’s a jerk with bad breath, who called her a HOPA.

5. Later, Losers!
This guy really, really hated his warehouse job.

6. He’s On A Roll And It’s Time To Go Solo
A dope soundtrack novelty T-shirts and flashmob spectacles are always appreciated.

7. Extra Quitarroni
Seems like a put-on, but man does it look ...
