The ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Cast Cosplayed As ‘Orange Is The New Black’: See The Pic

by 8 mins ago

The folks from Seattle Grace Mercy Hospital just went full Litchfield Correctional Facility, only without the SHU and the Pornstache and the actually losing one’s freedom part of the deal.

In other words, the cast of “Grey’s Anatomy” donned their scrubs to pose as the “Orange is the New Black” cast, and Meredith Grey herself posted it on her Whosay page for the rest of the television-loving universe to enjoy. Ellen Pompeo seems to be cosplaying as the dearly departed Tricia, while Sara Ramirez is clearly Alex, and the guy all the way to the right is Big Boo:

Good News For Justin Bieber: Ban On Sagging Pants Lifted In Florida

by 7 mins ago

Congratulations, Justin Bieber (and anyone else with an inclination toward pulled-down trousers)! Looks like you can finally stop avoiding that trip to Ocala, Florida. This week, the city overturned a law it had passed in July banning “sagging” or “low-riding” pants.

Justin BeiberSplash News

The ordinance prohibited anyone on city property from wearing their pants “two inches below their natural waist in a way that exposes underwear or bare buttocks.” Violators caught sagging were subject to fines up to $500 and possible jail time.

The predominant champion of the ban was councilwoman Mary Rich, a retired probation senior supervisor for the Florida Department of Corrections, who went on record stating that she believes that the law’s passage would “make [individuals who wear sagging pants] respect themselves.” Unsurprisingly, Rich and the ordinance came under fire by the NAACP for racial profiling. Spokesperson Dale Landry, of the Florida chapter, points out the obvious: “I’m sorry, it’s going to be black males that are the subject of this.”

Kent Guinn, Ocala’s mayor, changed his stance after the criticism from the NAACP, but the law was only repealed after the organization threatened legal action. “I think you get into really dangerous territory when you start legislating what type of clothes people wear or how they put together their ensemble,” Guinn told WKMG.

When Bill Clinton Was President, Laptops Were Basically Unrecognizable

by 16 mins ago

While people around the country are already in line for the latest in Apple product shininess, former U.S. President Bill Clinton shared a photo this Throwback Thursday (September 18) reminding us that computers didn’t always fit in our pockets. Oh! And that they weren’t always oh-so sleek ‘n’ lovely.

“I sent my first (ever!) email to John Glenn… while he was in space with @NASA. #TBT,” Clinton wrote on Twitter, thereby shaming all of us whose first email was sent to our first-grade penpal in Greenland (not naming names here).

A former U.S. Senator and astronaut, Glenn was the first American to orbit the earth in 1962 and later traveled on the space shuttle Discovery in 1998. We’re guessing that Clinton shot off that email on Glenn’s second trip, on which the then-77-year-old planned to serve as a guinea pig for geriatric studies.

Something something joke about geriatric studies and that ancient laptop. Something something.

21 Facts About Sexual Assault That Will Open Your Eyes

by 2 mins ago

As college campuses around the country come buzzing to life, many students are preparing to take future-changing classes and make friends that will last forever. Some students, however, may have their lives altered in much less positive ways — students like Columbia senior Emma Sulkowicz, who has vowed to carry a mattress around her university until her alleged rapist is removed from campus.

It’s for students such as these that MTV has partnered with President Obama and Vice President Biden to help support the launch of their new campaign called “It’s On Us,” which focuses on preventing sexual assaults before they happen — with an emphasis on men stepping forward and intervening.

Obama previously spoke about sexual assault this year, saying, “We can do more to make sure that every young man out there — whether they’re in junior high or high school or college or beyond — understands what’s expected of them and what it means to be a man, and to intervene if they see somebody else acting inappropriately.”

‘The Princess Bride’ Star: Andre The Giant Wanted Booze (Not Anesthesia) Before Surgery

by 11 mins ago

Standing at 7-foot-4 and weighing in at more than 500 pounds, professional wrestler-turned-actor Andre the Giant had one hefty appetite. But even more impressive was his seemingly unquenchable thirst, which is the stuff of legend.

Earlier this week, Cary Elwes — Andre’s costar in the classic flick “The Princess Bride” — opened up with the Daily Beast about the giant’s excessive (for most humans) drinking and just how much he could stomach. According to Elwes, when it came time for him to undergo surgery, Andre even opted for alcohol instead of anesthesia.

“He was due to have an operation right after the shoot, and his doctor didn’t know what kind of pain medication to give him because of his size, so the only way that he could deal with the pain was to drink alcohol,” Elwes told The Daily Beast. “It didn’t affect him at all. He didn’t flub a line or miss a day. The guy could handle his liquor, let me tell ya.”

Elwes (who has a new book out about the making of “The Princess Bride”) starred as the hero Westley in the beloved 1987 film, which costarred Andre as “Fezzik,” the hulking behemoth with a heart of gold. According to Elwes, it was damn near impossible to keep up with Andre’s imbibing, which was a staple of his image until his death in 1993.

Here’s How Sadie Saxton Can Extend Her ‘Awkward’ Kindness Streak

by 18 mins ago

After four seasons of dashing dreams, crushing hopes and making even her most optimistic peers cry, Sadie Saxton did the unthinkable on last season’s “Awkward” finale: She provided a shoulder for Jenna Hamilton to lean on.

Yup, it was one for the books. After Jenna got dumped for investing too much into exposing Eva as a liar, Sadie offered her enemy an uncharacteristically sincere “I’m sorry,” and we were suddenly thrust into the Twilight Zone. But now that she’s proven she’s got at least a decent heart, why should she stop there?

So that Palos Hills High School can start appreciating — and quit fearing — the queen bee, here are five ways Sadie can keep her kindness streak alive. Check ‘em out, and be sure to tune in to the “Awkward” season premiere Tuesday night at 10/9c!

1. Cut Tamara and Jenna a break on the cheer squad.

SadieFinal

As long as J-Town and T put in the work and genuinely want to help out, who is Sadie to say that they don’t belong? We didn’t want to mention this, but she’s no longer captain, and as long as Lissa thinks the BFFs make a contribution, the pom poms should remain in their hands.

2. Treat Lissa as an equal.

Sadie3

Friendship is very much a two-way street, and there are entirely too many times when Sadie dictates the lane and route Lissa should take. Things go smoothly when Sadie gets her way, but ...

Dylan O’Brien And The ‘Maze Runner’ Cast Break Down Glader Slang — Watch

by 20 mins ago

When watching “The Maze Runner,” the sci-fi dystopian flick based on the hit book by James Dashner, one might be struck by the fact that they have no clue what those slang terms are that Dylan O’Brien and co. are hurling at each other.

From “shank” to “klunk” and back again, many of the words that the trapped-in-a-box Gladers use in their strange little world are foreign to our ears, but not anymore: MTV News sat down with O’Brien, Ki Hong Lee, and Thomas Brodie-Sangster for a little vocab test, and the boys passed with flying colors.

“It’s really slang, like, ‘Hey, man. Hey, shank, what’s going on?’” Lee explains of their first word. “But it could be derogatory as well.”

That clears it up… I think. Luckily, O’Brien was on hand to make things even more clear by using the word in a sentence: “Man, this shank’s always taking my pencil.”

“The Maze Runner” is in theaters this Friday, September 19.

You’ve Never Heard Chief Keef Like This: Listen To ‘Wait’

by 22 mins ago

When you think of a Chief Keef song, you think of a certain sound. There’s usually hard, percussive beats, with booming bass. There’s usually some sort of chant-like chorus that’s frustratingly catchy. And there’s always the Chicago native’s brooding voice guiding the track.

Keef’s latest song, “Wait,” has some of that — but there’s one major difference: His voice is higher-pitched and faster than anything we’ve heard before.

That’s because the song, which the “Don’t Like” rapper released on YouTube and produced himself, is sped-up, giving it a rare sonic quality (in the YouTube post, Keef wrote that the song was “speeded”).

There’s still no date on his new album, Bang 3, so for now, we’ll have to wait. And listen to “Wait.”

8 Essential ‘Mystery Science Theater 3000′ Episodes To Watch On Vimeo

by 12 mins ago

After years of limited availability, 80 episodes of the cult TV series “Mystery Science Theater 3000″ have launched on Vimeo. Now you can get the joy of watching Joel and/or Mike, Crow and Tom Servo on a super convenient format.

You can rent each episode for $2.99 or buy them for $9.99, but before you put your dollars down, check out my list of essential episodes of “MST3K.”

1. “Gamera”

“Toy boat. Toy boat. Toy boat.” The first of the previously hard-to-find “Gamera” series is a must-watch.

2. “I Accuse My Parents”

With this melodramatic teen crisis movie, you also get one of MST3K’s best shorts ever, “The Truck Farmer.”

3. “Mitchell”

“Joe Don Baker is Mittens.”

4. “Santa Claus”

The story of Santa Claus’ fight against Satan has to be one of the stranger movies to ever screen for Joel, Crow and Tom.

5. “The Pumaman”

“Pumaman” stands as a classic of the genre, since no superhero since then has worn slacks as a part of his uniform.

6. “Devil Fish”

You haven’t seen a true “Jaws” rip-off until you’ve seen “Devil Fish.”

7. “The Final Sacrifice”

“The Final Sacrifice” is what you get when you soak Gilligan, Darth Vader and a bloated Jean-Claude Van Damme in pure Canadian maple syrup.

8. “Future War”

No other movie points out the lack of dinosaurs in “Terminator” quite like “Future War.”

Writer/editor for MTV. If it involves cowboys, spies, or hitmen, I'm there. All three would be ideal.

This Woman Will Poop On Your Doorstep If You Don’t Clean Up After Your Dog

by 18 mins ago

Attention dog owners of Los Angeles: If you don’t clean up after your pooch, then you’ll have to clean up after Beverly Grove resident Annie Preece. Or at least that’s what she threatens, if she finds another doggie present on her lawn:

Poop signImgur

Preece’s not-so-neighborly note first appeared on Reddit earlier this month and has since gone viral. You’ve got to admire her dedication to the cause. The message is so elegantly written — the straightforward topic sentence draws attention to her thoughtful persuasive arguments, which smoothly transition into a vividly detailed conclusion.

“I would never really do this, but it got the point across,” Preece — who, in addition to being a superstar note-writer, is also a street artist and muralist — told KTLA TV.

Still, clean up after your pets, folks. The only kind of poop it’s acceptable to leave for anyone is the poop emoji.
