August Alsina Postpones Date After Stage Fall

by 27 mins ago

August Alsina fans found out on Tuesday night that the singer would not be performing that night as scheduled at Bogart’s nightclub in Cincinnati, Ohio, less than 24 hours after the singer took a scary fall from the Irving Plaza stage in New York.

The show was still listed as active on Tuesday morning, but during the day its status was changed to postponed as Alsina, 22, reportedly continued receiving treatment at a New York hospital. A spokesperson for the “No Love” singer had not returned requests for comment on his condition at press time, but according to TMZ, Alsina experienced “multiple” seizures after his collapse.

An unnamed rep for Alsina told the site that August is still in the ICU at a New York hospital receiving treatment for seizures, which doctors suspect might have been brought on by exhaustion and dehydration.

At press time, a Friday date at the Old National Centre in Indianapolis is still listed as active.

Often guilty, never convicted. Serving 15 years to life at MTV News.

‘Sons Of Anarchy’: 7 Questions About ‘Toil And Till’

by 31 mins ago

WARNING: Spoilers Ahead!

The Jury’s out on Jackson Teller.

On the latest episode of “Sons of Anarchy,” Jax’s vengeance quest against the Lin Triad exploded in an unexpected way. In killing and framing two seemingly arbitrary thugs for an assault on the Triad’s business, it appears that Jax actually killed the loved one of a very close ally. There are few things more dangerous than a friend turned enemy, especially one who knows everything about your elaborate plan to avenge your deceased wife.

Here are some of the biggest questions that emerged from “Toil and Till.”

1. Is Jax Taking This Vengeance Thing Too Far?

Short answer: YUP. In “Toil and Till,” Jax tells SOA’s Indian Hills chapter President Jury that he intends to weaken Henry Lin’s alliances, become his only friend, then reveal himself as Lin’s betrayer, before killing everyone Lin holds dear, then finally Lin himself.

It’s an elaborate plan, motivated by little more than vengeance — wrongfully placed vengeance, at that. Lin did not kill Tara; Gemma did. Jax has no idea who his true enemy really is, and his misguided, visionless vengeance quest will drag the whole club to Hell with him.

2. What Do We Think Of August Marks’ Advice?

The newly anointed King of Guns tells Jax that if there’s one lesson he learned from Damon Pope, it’s that patience solves all problems, both in business and on the streets. “Clarity settles all scores,” he ...

‘New Girl’: All The Reasons Coach Didn’t Call

by 28 mins ago

In last night’s fourth season premiere of “New Girl,” “The Last Wedding,” the gang tried (mostly in vain) to hook up at the nuptials of some unnamed couple.

Most in vain, in more ways than one, were the attempts of Coach (Damon Wayans Jr.), who, as it turned out, had already charmed several of the woman present at the celebrations, never to be heard from again. Coach got an earful last night from his spurned conquests, and audiences got the pleasure of hearing the women’s critiques.

Presented, for your consideration, all the reasons Coach didn’t call back or measure up (according to the women he didn’t call).

1. So scared of intimacy

2. Hasn’t forgiven her

3. Arrogant

4. Sexist

5. Stole your phone charger

6. Conceited

7. Liar

8. Not in “The Best Man Holiday”

“New Girl” airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on Fox.

‘Sons Of Anarchy’ Recap: All The Shocking Moments From ‘Toil And Till’

by 9 mins ago

WARNING: Spoilers Ahead!

Hell hath no fury like a Charming prince scorned.

On the latest episode of “Sons of Anarchy,” Jackson “Jax” Teller finally revealed exactly what he’s aiming for in his vendetta against the Lin Triad — the group he believes responsible for the death of his wife Tara, even though he’s dead wrong. In fact, it’s his mother, Gemma, that plunged a carving fork in the back of Tara’s head. But who needs the truth when there are rival gangsters to blame?

After executing Tara’s “murderer” to the tune of “Bohemian Rhapsody” last week, Jax’s vengeance quest got even bloodier and more complicated this week. Here’s what you need to know about the latest episode, “Toil and Till.”

RELATED: Seven Questions About the “Sons of Anarchy” Season Premiere

What’s the Plan of Action, Jackson?

If he didn’t make it clear by murdering a member of the Triad in the season premiere, Jax Teller blames the Lin Triad for Tara’s death. As such, he’s going to dedicate every resource at his disposal to making Henry Lin’s life a living hell.

Here’s Jax’s plan, as outlined to SOA Indian Hills leader Jury: Jax plans to weaken Lin’s organization, wait until he’s all out of allies, and then extend a helping hand. Once Jax has Lin’s total trust, he’ll reveal himself as Lin’s tormentor. Then, he’ll ask Lin to point to the one person he wants spared from Jax’s wrath. Jax will then kill that person, followed by everyone else Lin cares about.

“I’ll ...

What Is Lori’s Plan Now That She’s Kidnapped ‘Carter’ Again?

by 39 mins ago

Discovering a child has been kidnapped is a hell no parent should ever have to endure, but on tonight’s “Finding Carter” episode, Elizabeth Wilson was forced to live through the horror for a second time.

On the show’s season finale, Lori, who’d seemingly fallen to the wayside after Carter chose to live with her biological family, cold-called the Wilsons while posing as a youth counselor who wanted to arrange a conference with Carter. As the sight of Max being shot had understandably shaken Carter, Elizabeth was completely receptive to the idea of getting her daughter some help, and arranged a meeting between “Claire Gregory” and Carter.

Dressed in a brand-new wig, it was Lori who arrived at the Wilson home for the appointment, though, and Carter, who was stunned by the sight of her, reflexively let her inside. In an otherwise empty house, Carter and the woman she once believed was her mother sorted through the conflicting stories of why Carter was taken. And though Lori pleaded her case and assured Carter there was more to the story than just a vendetta against Elizabeth and David, Carter gave her the cold shoulder and sent her on her way.

Determined to get a follow-up meeting with Elizabeth, “Claire” called back to schedule a sit-down, but Carter clued Elizabeth in to Lori’s scheme. Elizabeth, who’d sworn to Carter that her days of tracking down her daughter’s captor were behind her, was suddenly back on ...

Watch Nasim Pedrad’s Spot-On Aziz Ansari Impression In This Lost ‘SNL’ Sketch

by 4 mins ago

During her run on “Saturday Night Live,” Nasim Pedrad mastered impressions of people like Kim Kardashian, Bruno Mars and Ariana Huffington, but there was one impersonation we didn’t get to see: Aziz Ansari.

On “Conan,” Pedrad — who is now starring in Fox’s “Mulaney” — gave us a peek at her Aziz impression in an unaired sketch. “It’s kind of disturbing. He’s like a very handsome guy, but me as Aziz is a real boner eraser,” she joked with Conan O’Brien.

Watch as the “SNL” alum does a spot-on impression of the “Parks and Recreation” actor at 2:42, and tell us what you think in the comments!

French Montana Gets Somber On ‘Suicide’: Listen

by 13 mins ago

French Montana is in a contemplative mood on his latest track, “Suicide,” which dropped on Tuesday (September 16).

“Sometimes I look at my son, then I picture my father/ When he looked at his son and understood his story,” he raps to open the track, which has a somber tone throughout.

There are other moments that are a bit more classically Montana, with French delivering his seasoned street talk: “I’m talkin’ 500 murders, about 100 I knew/ I’m talkin’ 500 cases, ’bout 400 that blew.”

It’s not yet clear if this is off the rapper’s upcoming sophomore album, Mac & Cheese 4, which is due in November. French told MTV News over the summer that he had already recorded five tracks with Kanye West for the project.

Plus, he’s got Yeezy, Lil Wayne and Rick Ross on his next single, which we’re guessing will be a little more upbeat than this.

We Talked To The Comedian Behind The Ray Rice Inspired Makeup Tutorial

by 32 mins ago

When I saw the words “Ray Rice Inspired Makeup Tutorial,” my stomach twisted into knots. The subject of domestic violence and abuse—thrown into the spotlight in the past several days due to the horrific actions of the NFL superstar—is so fraught, so intense, and so deeply important that I had a visceral, gut-kicking reaction. I was prepared to watch the video and be deeply offended.

Instead, I watched the video, and the unexpected happened: I laughed. And then immediately emailed the creator, Megan MacKay, to see if she’d be willing to do an interview with me. Her three-minute video is both bitingly funny and bitterly angry, qualities that are incredibly difficult to blend effectively. She does it beautifully and with style.

If you or someone you know is experiencing relationship abuse, please head to Love Is Respect.

MTV STYLE: Hi, Megan! We’d love to know a bit more about you.

MEGAN MACKAY: Hi! I’m 22 and I’m from Toronto, Canada. I studied Radio and Television at Ryerson University with a focus on comedy screenwriting. My most brag-worthy training would be the semester I spent in Chicago completing the Comedy Studies program which—no big deal—is the same program Aidy Bryant did. It makes it real easy to pretend we’re best friends.

I see that the Ray Rice video isn’t the first of your makeup tutorial videos. When did you start making them? What made you decide that the idea of the ‘makeup tutorial’ was ready ...

Sam Smith Reveals What Made Lady Gaga Call Him ‘My Baby’

by 22 mins ago

After receiving an email from Sam Smith, Lady Gaga sent a mysterious — but heartfelt — message to him last week, calling him “my baby” and complimenting his “voice of an angel.” We already know that the British singer has a way with words, but what prompted such a public display of affection?

Well, when Smith talked with the people over at 103.3 AMP Radio in Boston, he revealed just what he said.

“Someone had mentioned to me that Gaga knew of my stuff,” the singer said. “I was just completely overwhelmed by that. I wrote her an email basically just saying, ‘I remember being a 17-year-old, queuing up for your concert, dreaming up doing this, and being in the music industry.’

“And the thing I admire most about Lady Gaga was the hustle and what she did to get into the industry. And I just ran with it saying, ‘Thank you so much for inspiring me to do this because the reason why I’m here now is partly because of you.’ And she seemed touched.”

Listen To Jamie Foxx ‘Turn Up’ On His First New Single In 4 Years, ‘Party Ain’t A Party’

by 5 mins ago

Jamie Foxx makes his musical return after a four-year hiatus with the new 2 Chainz-assisted single, “Party Ain’t A Party.”

The DJ Mustard-produced track begins with an opening salvo from Tity Two Necklaces.

“Do not disturb sign on the door, need to record so I got a camcorder/I’m playing Pandora I might break her aorta,” he raps.

In keeping with the song’s title, the Oscar-winning sings about all the accoutrements associated with the proper turn-up: models, bottles and diamond-encrusted jewels.

“VIP wherever we at, tomorrow night we might relapse, so back that ass up like Juve, cause you already know I need that,” he sings with just the right amount of bravado.

During his promo run for “The Amazing Spider-Man 2″ earlier this year, the triple threat entertainer told MTV News that he was already working on his new album.

“I’m working on some music now,” Foxx said. “I just did a song with Pharrell called ‘Tease.’”
