Reunited G-Unit Jump Around In The Video For ‘Watch Me’

by 1 hour ago

There’s nothing like watching G-Unit finally back together and enjoying each other’s company: they totally missed each other and seem visibly happy to reunited again.

“I always felt like we would be back together and doing music. That was the most important part to me,” Lloyd Banks told MTV last week.

Yesterday (September 5), the crew released the visual for “Watch Me,” which features 50 Cent, Tony Yayo, Young Buck, Lloyd Banks and new member Kidd Kidd bouncing around a sterile white hallway and an empty warehouse, all smiles and gun fingers.

The video is full of things you’d expect G-Unit to want: a drummer, Ciroc, a big leather chair. Obviously, there’s an all-over print dollar bill shirt, obviously there’s plenty of booty. But there’s also a weird sword that 50 is holding for no discernible reason. And there’s there’s guitar-smashing!

What there is the most of, though, is friendship. The dudes have their arms around each other’s shoulders in every group shot.

“Watch Me” is the kind of song that G-Unit have always made and will continue to make. It’s a grimy ode to pleasure and pain, by dudes who know their crew always has their. Beef may come and go, but crew love is forever.

At the fourth annual Stand Up To Cancer fundraising event last night, a slew of celebrities turned up to help support the organization’s fight. And one familiar fictional face was back to—Will Ferrell‘s Ron Burgundy. In four brief snippets, Ron helped boost awareness about the event held yesterday (September 5) and threw in a few of his own signature Burgundy gems

Burgundy brought some much needed humor to the emotional event, with artists like Ariana Grande, who performed in honor of her grandfather who recently passed from cancer.

First, Canada gets a special shout-out:

Then, Ron reveals the shocking truth: he’s no fan of the disease.

And he wouldn’t be a beloved newscaster if he wasn’t easily confused…

Then, there’s Ron’s insufferable ego.

We missed you Ron, thanks for coming back to support a great cause.

Listen To Meek Mill And Mac Miller Join Forces On ‘I Like It’

by 29 mins ago

Meek Mill ft. Mac Miller: try saying that ten times fast. Or better yet, listen to their latest collaboration “I Like It” and stunt around your block ten times while shouting along.

Last week Meek released four leftover tracks from the sessions from his upcoming “Dreams Worth More Than Money” project, and “I Like It” is more of the same. Meek never fails to get the blood flowing with his famously energetic voice, and this is no exception. The #MeekMillRapLike effect is in full effect: he sounds like he’s opening Christmas presents.

Mac Miller takes over halfway through, and does his best to match Meek’s energy with a colorful string of boasts about sheikhs, Animal Crackers and Child Protective Services.

This is Mac in full free-associative rapping-about-rapping mode: “I might rip your hands off, slap you in the face with ‘em/Spit straight venom, give you bars like it’s a state prison.” He sounds like a goofy stoned kid making larger-than-life threats, because that’s what he is.

Meek Mill is currently incarcerated after violating his probation, which will probably delay the planned September release schedule for “Dreams Worth More Than Money.”

If he can leak music this good while he’s behind bars we can’t wait to see what he comes up with when he’s out. Until then, #FreeMeekMill.

Gisele Bündchen Sends A Powerful Message In This New Under Armour Commercial

by 7 mins ago

When Under Armour announced that supermodel Gisele Bündchen would be one of the faces for their new ad campaign, some people didn’t think she was up to the job. Detractors took to social media posting comments about how she was just a model and modeling isn’t a sport and on and on—haters gonna hate, right?

Well, after this backlash, Gisele and Under Armour decided to respond to the negativity by turning it into powerful motivation.

“This incredibly inspirational initiative serves as a powerful reminder of all the amazing things women can do despite the pressures and criticisms we may encounter,” Bündchen said in a statement. “Having the strength to tune out negativity and remain focused on what I want gives me the will and confidence to achieve my goals.”

So in the clip, we see the model kick boxing and hitting a punching bag with force while the insults and derogatory words, along with encouragement flash behind her.

The ad’s final message appears on the screen at the end: “I Will What I Want.” It’s a statement that encourages women to choose for themselves, and one that sums up an even bigger reality of judgement that women constantly face from the media and from society. Plus it’s great to watch the generally cool, calm and collected Gisele kick some serious ass.

You may remember the first entry into this series—the incredible ballerina Misty Copeland, who we spoke to for part of our “Look Different” series.

It’s great to see Under Armour ...

Blake Lively Celebrated Beyonce’s Birthday With ‘Beyhive’ Cake

by 21 mins ago

September 4 was a special day for all of us who look up to Queen Bey, but Blake Lively has probably secured her spot as Beyoncé‘s number one fan by making an insane ‘Beyhive’ cake.

Lively posted a video of her ambitious dessert on her lifestyle blog Preserve‘s Instagram account, writing a special note for her friend and collaborator: “In honor of the Queen of all Bs…I had to make this Meyer Lemon Honey cake. Happy Birthday Beyoncé!!! Xxo Blake.”

The 27-year-old actress worked with Beyoncé earlier this year, appearing in her video entitled “Run”—a fake trailer for a movie that features the Beyonce and Jay Z collaboration “Part II (On The Run)” playing in the background. And they must’ve bonded on set, because in June the two B’s were photographed hanging out together at Gucci’s Chime for Change charity event.

On Thursday, Jay Z honored his wife’s 33rd birthday by posting a 33-second YouTube video on his Life+Times website. His video production might be on point, but apparently his baking skills are a little lacking compared to Lively’s.

Check out footage of Lively’s ‘Beyhive’ cake—complete with bees!!—below.

#ExplainAFilmPlotBadly Shows Us How Ridiculous Our Favorite Movies Are

by 7 mins ago

By Sasha Geffen

Late last night, movie geeks from all over Twitter took to their feeds to start a new movement in cinema humor: #ExplainAFilmPlotBadly. The hashtag, which is now trending, attempts to summarize popular movies in hilariously blunt terms—like describing Lord of the Rings as “Racially diverse group journeys to a volcano to destroy jewelry.”

Apparently inspired in part by a newspaper blurb that summarized The Wizard of Oz as “Transported to a surreal landscape, a young girl kills the first person she meets and then teams up with three strangers to kill again,” #ExplainAFilmPlotBadly exposes the alarmingly simple stories that make up some of our favorite flicks. Take away all the movie magic, distill a story to its most basic parts, and everything from “Lord of the Rings” to “Mrs. Doubtfire” starts to sound pretty ridiculous.

Check out some of the best tweets that have emerged since the hashtag started taking off.

Using Facebook At The Wrong Time Ended With A Homicide Charge For One Negligent Driver

by 17 mins ago

This past May, 20-year-old Abby Sletten’s life was turned upside down. She she rear-ended another car while going 85 miles an hour on a North Dakota highway in her Ford Escape, killing one passenger and injuring the two others.

89-year-old Phyllis Gordon died at the scene, while Gordon’s granddaughter Jennifer Meyers and great granddaughter Paige were taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries incurred in the crash.

What was the cause of this accident? Abby was using her phone at the time.

Court documents obtained by CNN note that Sletten didn’t leave any skid marks, implying that she didn’t see the car in front of her.

After police obtained a warrant to check her mobile activity, she’s now facing a count of negligent homicide, and stands accused of using Facebook on her cellphone while driving. She was using her mobile Facebook app to look at photos at the time of the collision. There were also records of her sending text messages while driving.

The accident occurred back in May, but after police discovered that Sletten was using her phone at the time of the accident, they arrested her last week, on August 27, and set bail at $5,000. She will appear in court on October 8th.

A 2011 North Dakota law forbids texting and driving with a $100 fine, but Traill County Sheriff Mike Crocker told CNN that there needs to be a stronger consequence.

“Texting and driving to me.. is becoming a very serious problem,” he said. “We gotta have a reason for them ...

‘Doctor Who’: How The ‘Robot Of Sherwood’ Got His Hilarious Laugh

by 14 mins ago

This week on “Doctor Who,” The Doctor (Peter Capaldi) teams up with Robin Hood (Tom Riley) for what might be the funniest episode of “Who” ever – or at least in a good long while. In advance of the episodes airing on BBC America on September 6, MTV News talked to Riley, as well as writer Mark Gatiss about developing the idea, getting cast, and how they created Robin’s hilarious, infectious laugh.

We’ll have more spoiler-filled talk with the duo after the episode airs, so tune back in then. Oh, and very mild spoilers for the episode, though nothing you couldn’t figure out from the promos.

MTV News: What was the general idea when you were starting? How did you come to the idea of the Doctor and Robin Hood teaming up?

Mark Gatiss: It was Steven [Moffat]‘s suggestion. It’s different every year. Last year, I always wanted to bring back the Ice Warriors, and I always wanted to do a submarine story, so I combined the two. This year, Steven said, “What about Robin Hood, I’ve always wanted to do Robin Hood.” I always loved the Errol Flynn film in particular, so I thought it could be great fun. The whole of idea of presenting it as too good to be true, as a ’30s matinee idol version of a character who wasn’t real anyway, was irresistible.

That, in combination with a Doctor that I knew was going to be less human, and a bit edgier… I can imagine that ...

Samuel L. Jackson Plays A President On The Run In ‘Big Game’—Watch The Clip

by 23 mins ago

He’s played an “Avengers” leader, a Jedi Master, a bible-speaking gangster, and a protector against snakes on planes, but Samuel L. Jackson’s next role might be his biggest ever: The President of the United States of America.

In the upcoming action comedy flick “Big Game,” Jackson tackles the part of the Commander-in-Chief with a twist: he is on the run from terrorists.

In this first clip of the film, which premiered at this week’s Toronto International Film Festival last night (September 5), Jackson rendezvous with a young boy, who finds him locked in a refrigerator-like box.

“Where are my soldiers? I’m the commander of the biggest, bad-ass, ass-kicking armed forces on the planet,” Jackson’s President screams, before all hell breaks loose.

Take a look at the clip below, and let us know what you think of it in the comments!
