50 Cent And G-Unit Already Have A Beastly Title For Their Next EP

by 12 mins ago

Now that G-Unit is back together and making music again, don’t expect them to stop any time soon. 50 Cent and his crew just dropped their comeback EP The Beauty of Independence and already have another EP on deck.

“It’s broken up into two pieces so The Beauty of Independence is the first half and then The Beast is G-Unit [is] the second half,” 50 revealed during a recent interview with the LA Leakers on their Shade 45 satellite radio show.

“Right now we got like over 50 records recorded and the process for picking this EP was six records,” Lloyd Banks told MTV News of The Beauty of Independence during an interview last month.

“It reminds me of when we first started, because we didn’t have a lot of time to fall in love with a record like, Yo that’s my joint. Because by the time you lay that one down, we’re in the booth again. And then four or five records in one day. So they can expect the first six songs and then another EP following that and solo projects as well.”

Young Buck told us that now that the Unit is back together, there will be no splitting up. “If you looking over here at G-Unit and looking for the downfall, then it’s hard on yourself, you’re making it hard on yourself,” Buck said. “But if you’re looking over here at ...

Worst Criminal Ever Stops Running From Cops To Play With Cats

by 13 mins ago

Yes, this happened in Florida.

While leading police on a wild chase through Boca Raton, 21-year-old Daniel Pinedo Velapatino decided he was thirsty. He had spent the morning allegedly taking drugs, stealing money, crashing cars and fleeing police, so naturally, he needed to rehydrate.

So Velapatino knocked on a stranger’s door and asked for a glass of water. “He said, ‘Oh, I’m so sorry. Next door, I’m mowing the lawn. Do you mind if I have a glass of water?’” said Candace Noonan, the owner of the home. Noonon went to get him a bottle of water, and when she came back, Velapatino was lying on her living room floor, playing with her cats. “It was odd, very odd,” Noonan said. “He was stroking my cat. It almost looked like he either was on drugs or he was mentally handicapped.” Or maybe he knew his last few moments as a free man would be best spent nuzzling kitten?

After Noonan started questioning Velapatino, he fled out the back door and a fleet of cop cars drove up around the house. Police continued chasing Velapatino, who desperately jumped into a canal and tried to swim away. But a police boat snatched him up and took him into custody.

According to investigators, Velapatino had been up all night taking drugs with a couple friends. Now, he’s accused of stealing thousands of dollars from a friend’s wallet, as well as crashing a stolen Lexus into a police cruiser ...

DiCaprio, De Niro, Pitt, And Scorsese Finally Team Up… Kind Of

by 22 mins ago

The dreams of film buffs everywhere are finally coming true… kind of.

Martin Scorsese is directing a casino-themed film starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, and Brad Pitt, and written by “Boardwalk Empire” showrunner and “Wolf of Wall Street” writer Terence Winter. It’s an incredible cast and sounds like Scorsese’s answer to “Ocean’s Eleven,” or a long-awaited sequel to his own “Casino.”

The only problem for the casual moviegoer? It’s not exactly a “movie” in the traditional sense.

Yup, turns out it’s actually a short film for a new movie-themed casino in Macau, Deadline reports, and is essentially just a long advertisement for Melco-Crown Entertainment (MCE), the company that’s opening the casino.

De Niro and DiCaprio are Scorsese’s two favorite actors, and they were originally slated to finally work together in “The Departed,” until De Niro had to drop out of his role as Captain Queenan and was replaced by Martin Sheen.

So no, unfortunately, you’ll have to wait a little longer to actually see the whole gang together on the big screen, though we’re sure the Internet will find a way to show you what we’re calling The Greatest Short Film Ever Made on your computer screen.

We can only hope working together now makes them even hungrier to work on a feature-length film in the future, cause we gotta see that, guys.

The Weirdest Employee Conduct Policies At Major Companies

by 8 mins ago

No matter where you get a job, you’ll be expected to act in a certain way. Maybe you’ll have to wear a uniform (sorry, fast food employees), or have to use certain words with customers (looking at you, telemarketers). That’s to be expected. Some companies, though, have way more intense rules. Here are the oddest guidelines that employees are reportedly mandated or “encouraged” to follow…

American Apparel: Executives judge your photo

LA Fashion Awards - ArrivalsGetty Images

That’s former American Apparel CEO Dov Charney (who’s still a high-level consultant), an extremely controversial guy for myriad reasons, including several sexual harassment lawsuits. Leaked documents indicate that all job applicants must have “head to toe” pictures taken, and a former store manager alleges that “anyone [Charney personally] deems not good-looking enough to work there is encouraged to be fired. … Dov wants to weed out the ‘ugly people.’”

This policy allegedly stays in place after you’re hired as well. The company claims that it’s just making sure employees don’t look “off-brand.”

The ‘Star Wars’ Team Ranks The Best Lightsaber Battles Of All Time

by 22 mins ago

The intrepid defenders of the galaxy far, far away at StarWars.com have released their list of the top ten lightsaber battles in “Star Wars” history — and its number one choice is a bit of a surprise.

Here’s the video countdown:

And here’s the bombshell: The Duel of the Fates at the end of “The Phantom Menace” stands tall as the best “Star Wars” fight of them all.

Granted, this isn’t an “officially official” list, as noted by the StarWars.com crew themselves. And their rationale for what makes Duel of the Fates the best in the series is fairly solid:

“This duel captures what makes every other entry on this list special. It’s exciting, there’s real danger, and it packs an emotional punch. Darth Maul is quick and deadly like no other ‘Star Wars’ villain before him, making the Sith Lord a new kind of threat. As the fight progresses, Qui-Gon is mortally wounded, leaving Obi-Wan to face Maul alone. Throughout, it simultaneously echoes and establishes themes core to the saga, and the climax is a defining moment for one of the galaxy’s greatest Jedi.”

All of that is true. Hate “Phantom Menace” all you want, but the climactic final battle is incredible. But is it better than the second-place finisher: the “Empire Strikes Back” battle between Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader? The StarWars.com team thinks so. Here’s their description of the “Empire” fight:

“The slow pacing, the haunting aesthetic, and the harsh reality of Luke’s first duel with Darth Vader makes for one ...

‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Season Two Trailer Plunges Into Darkness

by 4 mins ago

The make-or-break moment has arrived for “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” and Coulson’s team is ready for the challenge.

An all-new trailer for the ABC and Marvel Studios show’s upcoming second season is now online, featuring a monologue from newly minted S.H.I.E.L.D. director Phil Coulson — the resurrected hero who now lords over a group of shadow operatives, what with the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division officially kaput as far as the public knows.

“The enemy has the advantage,” says Coulson. “We have to fight on for those we lost, so the sacrifices they made were not made in vain. And then, we’ll disappear — become ghosts. That’s how we have to live now: In the shadows. To protect the innocent, to save lives. Even when they don’t know it.”

As Coulson describes the new “S.H.I.E.L.D.” status quo, we see some familiar imagery from the first season (including Victoria Hand’s bloody hand; possible foreshadowing?), as well as some glimpses at what’s to come — such as Skye, sporting new bangs, kicking butt and taking names, Melinda May style. We also get our first look at an imprisoned Grant Ward, bearded and alone, but apparently not forgotten.

The new season of “S.H.I.E.L.D.” launches on September 23.

Beyonce Chopped Off All Her Locks

by 4 mins ago

Just when we thought Beyonce would be taking it easy over Labor Day weekend (um, hi, did you see the #BeyMAs?), our girl still managed to find a way to keep us on our toes while taking some time off—by debuting a dramatic new haircut. *gasp*

BeyonceGetty Images

At the Made In America festival this weekend, Bey sported a super blunt, just-below-the-chin wavy bob while hangin’ with the hubs in Los Angeles. Her new ’do feels super fresh for the end of summer, just like the platinum, asymmetrical bob she debuted right around this time last year.

In signature Beyonce style, she posted a few snaps of her new look on Instagram paired with a killer all-black crop top and wrap skirt accented with gold jewelry (are those Flash Tattoos?!) and stiletto sandals. But what do you think: do you like Bey’s new, no-nonsense bob or her longer, wind-blown locks? Let us know in the comments below!

Listen To A Preview Of Kanye West’s ‘Awesome’ Ode To Kim Kardashian

by 10 mins ago

Remember last year when Kanye West took a pregnant Kim Kardashian to the Met Gala, then proceeded to tell her how “Awesome” she was, during his performance, over and over again? Well, it looks like that song might actually be released sometime in the near future.

During Sunday night’s episode of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians,” a snippet of the song played in the background while Kim and company explained the first time they’d heard it.

When Kanye first played the song live, model Coco Rocha captured a Vine from the performance, teasing the vocals, “Don’t let nobody bring you down, you’re so awesome, you’re so awesome!”

Emma Watson Had The Perfect Response To The Celeb Nude Photo Hack

by 33 mins ago

Although she wasn’t among the celebrities whose private photos were stolen and disseminated by hackers this weekend, Emma Watson is still lending her voice to the conversation about the leak — and what she had to say was typically smart and incisive:

The actress spoke out on Twitter in the wake of a massive leak that included private photos of Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and others, which were obtained by hackers who posted them online in an effort to earn bitcoins. The situation is now under investigation by the FBI.

It’s no surprise to see this message coming from Watson, who’s just as famous for being thoughtful and intelligent as she is for making movies, but it’s still nice to see her calling out some of the seriously gross responses seen on the Internet in the wake of the scandal. Here’s hoping the Internet pays attention.
