Tiny Aluminum Batman Will Save Us All

by 28 mins ago

We’ve all asked ourselves this question at least once in our lives: Why would you ever possibly recycle your cans when you could make tiny, intricately detailed pop culture sculptures out of them instead?

Or, at least, you will have asked yourself that question at least once after you see these pics of Japanese artist Makaon’s work.

Props to Laughing Squid for highlighting the artist’s supercool creations, such as Tin Can Batman (we know he’s made of aluminum, we just like the way it sounds, ooookay):

I’mma Let You Finish But Weren’t These Technically Blue Ivy’s Second VMAs?

by 9 mins ago

Since Beyonce flawlessly closed out the 2014 VMAs and received the prestigious Michael Jackson Vanguard award and was surprised by her husband Jay Z and daughter Blue Ivy onstage, a lot of our attention has been focused on her and her family. But when all three of the Carters are onstage, it becomes apparent who the real star is: Blue Ivy. And yes, MTV along with everyone else was so happy to celebrate Blue’s first-ever VMAs!

But it simply couldn’t go without mentioning that technically — it’s actually her second!

Yes, little Blue was famously the star of another Video Music Awards show back in 2011, when her superstar mom-to-be Bey revealed that she was preggers while onstage mid-performance! So let’s compare the littlest Carter’s two VMA appearances, shall we? Bear with us as we channel some embryonic energies to get a feel for Blue’s in utero moments.

What Blue Wore To The VMAs In 2011…

Sure, for her first VMAs, Blue had to make do with the white button-down shirt and pair of high-waisted black pants that her mom, Beyonce, chose to perform in — but have you ever seen a baby bump look more stylish?

And In 2014!

Blue’s Bonpoint spun gold dress looked great even from the back as she gave her mom a congratulatory pat. And the gold of Blue’s dress and Bey’s ...

Joe Budden Insists That He Isn’t On The Run From Police

by 18 mins ago

Joe Budden has a message for the NYPD and anyone else that believes he’s a wanted man: Guys with pink shirts can’t be on the run.

Despite this weekend’s tweet from New York City’s finest marking Budden as a wanted man, NBC’s Channel 4 News had no problems catching up to the Slaughterhouse MC in front of his New Jersey home.

“You guys found me rather easily,” Joey told the reporter on the scene. “And I’m wearing pink! Who runs wearing pink? I’m not on the run.”

Budden says he turned himself into New Jersey authorities for the domestic violence allegations brought against him last week and was released. He offered to do the same in New York, where he’s wanted on a charge of robbery for allegedly forcibly taking his girlfriend’s cellphone and twisting her arm.

“I’m fully cooperative with everything that’s happening in New Jersey,” Budden said. “I’ve turned myself in, I’ve been released, my lawyers are handling everything else. Whatever needs to be done to rectify the situation, I’m more than willing to comply with.”

Winter Soldier Will Play A Key Role In ‘Captain America 3′

by 19 mins ago

Captain America: The Winter Soldier” — as great as it was — ends with one of its major storylines unresolved. What becomes of Bucky Barnes, now the Winter Soldier, after Cap shakes something loose from his brainwashed head?

Anthony and Joe Russo, who directed “Winter Soldier,” are picking the story back up with Captain America’s third solo movie, set for release in 2016, and they talked with me about why that storyline is what’s really interested them about the further adventures of Steve Rogers.

While the specifics of the plot are not public knowledge yet — Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely just turned in their first draft last week — there are a set of questions that the Russos hope will drive the story forward.

“Is the Winter Soldier the world’s most dangerous assassin that’s ever lived or the world’s longest serving P.O.W.?” Anthony Russo asked. “Is he responsible for his actions since he was turned into the Winter Soldier, or is he innocent by reason of insanity? Where does this character live now? Is he ever going to be acceptable again to Cap in the way he once was, before he was the Winter Soldier? Those are the really complicated relationship questions and philosophical questions and emotional questions that intrigued us moving forward.”

These questions might not reveal who the villain will be or whether the Winter Soldier will become Captain America, but it gives a sense of where the emotional heart of the movie will lie, an element ...

Kim Kardashian Will Be On ’2 Broke Girls’

by 20 mins ago

Kim Kardashian certainly wouldn’t be described as “broke,” but soon she’ll be spending some time with two girls who are.

TVLine reported that Kardashian will appear as a guest star in the season four premier episode of CBS’s “2 Broke Girls.”

Michael Patrick King, who is the executive producer for the show, said that Kardashian will play herself, showing up at the cupcake shop owned by Max (Kat Dennings) and Caroline (Beth Behrs). Knowing what kind of a boost she could give their small business, the girls are desperate for a visit from the celeb.

Don’t worry, though, the show’s usual snark was not sacrificed to please Kardashian.

“There are the typical ’2 Broke Girls’ jokes all about [the Kardashians] in the episode,” King told TVLine. “So it’s fun to see someone have a great sense of humor about herself. She read the script, she thought it was funny and she came. We could’ve [shot] the exact same [episode] without her — but she was the cherry on top.”

Kardashian has already filmed her scenes.

The episode will air Monday, October 27.

‘Star Wars’ Invades France In These Amazing LEGO Photos

by 37 mins ago

France has been invaded… by Star Wars LEGOs

But you don’t have to love LEGOs or “Star Wars” to appreciate these incredible pictures, by photographer Benoit Lapray as part of a project by LEGO France.

RELATED: LEGOs Recreating ‘Star Wars’ Are Better Than The Real Thing

The photographs are part of a series called “Toy Invasion,” where Lapray shows the Empire taking over a district in Lyon, France.

You can see stormtroopers with speeder bikes hovering over the water, stormtroopers shopping in a mall (with Boba Fett, of course), the Emperor commanding his forces from the roof of a building, and coolest of all, a shot-down Millennium Falcon in the water while Luke, Han and Leia try to escape.

You can check out the full photo set here, and you’ll probably be just a bit upset the Empire hasn’t actually invaded earth yet.

Rustie Goes Back To The Future With Green Language

by 38 mins ago

By Andrew Maclean

Can lightning strike twice? Or for that matter, 13 times — on one record? When it comes to his sophomore album, Green Language, Russell “Rustie” Whyte definitely thinks so. The follow-up LP to 2011′s Glass Swords showcases the Glasgow, Scotland-bred dance music producer’s firm grasp on the balance between the futuristic tracks his fans love and a shift away from a sound he believes “a lot of people have been jumping on.”

“I tried to go into this album trying to make it more cohesive, take it a bit more serious, more deeper sounds then from Glass Swords,” Rustie told MTV News.

And though different, Green Language , out Tuesday (August 26), is in every way a continuation of Glass Swords. Rustie launches the record with “Workship” and “Glimpse,” two songs that can tell you everything you need to know about the eclectic Scottish producer. Large shining soundscapes with the textures of prog-rock, hip-hop, and video games are wrapped together to create the world of the new LP.

The album cover for Green Language

RustieGL

For most of the album, Rustie navigates between moments of explosive energy like the Danny Brown-featured “Attak” and “Up Down,” featuring U.K. MC D Double E, to the comforts of luscious ballads like “Lost,” which features Numbers labelmate Redinho, and “Dream On” with Washington D.C.’s Muhsinah.

This balancing act helps Rustie deliver an album thick with emotion and raw “shotgun-blast-to-the-face” instrumentals. That sonic approach, initiated on Rustie’s instrumental-heavy debut ...

Lil’ Kim Gets Explicit With Bananas On Her ‘No Flex Zone’ Remix

by 9 mins ago

Last time we heard from Lil’ Kim, she was dissing Nicki Minaj on a song Nicki had just remixed. On Tuesday (August 26), Kim was back with more new music — again remixing a song Nicki just remixed. No clear disses this time, though.

But there is plenty of boasting and bragging on the “No Flex Zone” remix, whether it’s about her skills on the mic (“Killing these hoes, it’s a genocide”) or her innovation (“I set trends/ Pull up in the 2020 Benz”).

And like in the past, Kim isn’t shy when it comes to sexually explicit lyrics: “I be on that new sh–, bananas in my asshole/ My man be on that zoo sh–, wanna f–k me ’til my eyes roll.”

So, yeah. That’s the new sh–, FYI.

Her new mixtape, Hardcore 2k14, is due out September 11.

‘The Flash’: Every Easter Egg In The New Poster

by 19 mins ago

As anticipation for The CW’s latest comic book adaptation series, “The Flash,” continues to ramp itself up, the network has decided to release a new teaser poster to throw those DC Universe geeks into hyperdrive and über-speculation.

Because — hoo boy — are there a heck of a lot of easter eggs in this thing.

Being that we are the servicey sort, we’ve decided to break ‘em all down for you, because what’s more fun than pointing out tiny, minute details that potentially speak to a fascinating (and interconnected!) new series and season ahead? Nothing. Absolutely nothing at all.

First up, let’s take a look at the poster all together now, shall we?

The CW Network

Now here’s where the fun begins.

First off, the Queen Consolidated building which we’ve already seen before (on “Arrow,” duh), with Star Labs — the not-blown-up iteration — diagonally below it.

As you continue to move down the poster there’s a wee Big Belly Burger, which has tons of meaning and significance to the universe. And perhaps most menacing of all is the graffiti on the next corner: GRODD LIVES, perhaps? Oh my gorilla goodness.

On the left side there’s a bit of graffiti on the wall we cannot make out (please send your suggestions and ideas straight to the comments, please!).

Another exciting Big Bad tease? That Amertek building sign. Could we perhaps see a John Henry Irons/Steel reboot in the works with that? And would that then mean we’d see a tie to ...

This U.K. Rapper Is The Prime Suspect In The Beheading Of Journalist James Foley

by 9 mins ago

On August 19, a gruesome video uploaded to YouTube captured the beginning of James Foley’s decapitation and ultimate death, with the Islamic State of Iraq, or ISIS, claiming responsibility. The 40-year-old American freelance journalist was kidnapped in late 2012 while covering the civil war in Syria, and his death drew international rebuke. Now, the prime suspect in Foley’s beheading is said to be a former rapper from the U.K., according to according to The Sunday Times of London.

The British counter-intelligence and security agency MI5 suspects that Abdel-Majed Abdel Bary, who released rap videos under the name L. Jinny, was the masked man depicted in that video. The 23-year-old (or 24-year-old — reports vary) reportedly posted a picture of himself holding a severed head on his now-suspended Twitter account, and MI5 used voice recognition technology to make the match.

An aspiring rapper, Abdel Bary had uploaded some videos to YouTube, and even had his songs played on BBC radio a few times, before relocating to Syria in 2013.

The lone video on his “LJinnyVEVO” page is for a song called “Overdose.” “I’m still the same Jinny,” he raps, “with a bit of rage in me.”

The visuals flash between a couple of angles, all shot on the same location, as the MC delivers cliches familiar to an aspiring rapper: tales of no one believing in him, and his eagerness to prove them wrong.

In another video, he’s critical of other rappers and their content, and talks about growing ...
