Suge Knight, the onetime Death Row Records CEO, was reportedly shot twice early Sunday morning (August 24) at a West Hollywood nightspot. The imposing former label boss apparently walked out of a 1 OAK pre-VMA party hosted by Chris Brown on his own but was led to an ambulance by police, according to TMZ.

Details are few but the site broke the news, reporting shots were fired around 1:30 a.m. PT at 1 OAK’s Los Angeles outpost on the Sunset Strip. In a 61-second video obtained by the website, a man resembling the exec (born Marion Knight Jr.) is seen being wheeled out on a stretcher by emergency workers; a number of police vehicles are on the scene. Knight’s family and sources close to TMZ seem to confirm his injuries were not fatal and that he was undergoing surgery in the pre-dawn hours.

At 9 p.m. PT on Saturday, Brown — an MTV VMA nominee at tonight’s show — posted a promo for the 1 OAK bash on his Instagram, adding the anticipatory caption, “We bout to turn the [fu-k] up!!!!”

There were other celebs spotted at the bash, including Black Eyed Peas star apl.de.ap and model Tyson Beckford, who seemed to confirm the news when he retweeted a TMZ staffer’s post about the incident that mentioned him by name.

You can give up — Chase Simonds’ ALS challenge is better than yours. And he didn’t even have to throw a bucket of water over his head.

A few days before the Video Music Awards, the MTV producer was joking around doing dance moves in front of coworkers when VMAs co-executive producer Lee Lodge walked in. After Simonds’ humiliation wore off, Lodge made an offer: if Simonds learned and performed a dance routine on the VMA stage, he’d donate $500 to charity.

Since he’d recently found out his friend Clayton’s father has ALS, he had to accept the challenge — and went all out to craft a routine fit for a queen. A friend connected him to James Alsop, a choreographer who’s worked with Beyonce, who over the next couple nights helped him perfect his dance moves.

Maybe Bey will recruit him for Sunday’s VMA performance?

Ashton, Luke, Michael and Calem rehearsed “Amnesia” at the Forum in Inglewood, California, on Saturday (August 23), a day before the big show. The guys wore their signature band tees as they worked out harmonies and perfected lighting.

Nicki Minaj already has a few rap rivals, but now the curvy rap queen can add a booty rival to the list of women that want to come for her throne.

Comedian Kathy Griffin threw down the gauntlet and issued a challenge to Minaj during a recent interview. “Of course, everyone’s talking about that ‘Anaconda’ video, and it’s fantastic,” Griffin told the Associated Press on Friday. “It’s a lot of boo-tay, and I would like to challenge Nicki to a boo-tay-off.”

Judging from Nicki’s just-released “Anaconda” video, this isn’t going to be an easy challenge for Griffin.
