Sisqo Has A New Single, And No, This Isn’t 1999

by 9 mins ago

Reminder: It is 2014.

And Sisqo just released a new song.

And don’t worry, on “A-List” — his first solo song in 13 years — he’s updated his sound since “Thong Song.” He’s got a trap sounding record, so he got one of the trap’s own, Waka Flocka Flame, to spit a verse.

“Whoa, I get the best of everything/ Cribs, cars, clothes ’cause money ain’t a thang/ Whoa, I been on top of my game/ Way past rich/ ‘Cause I’m A-list in this bitch,” he sings with an assist from Auto-Tune. The Brick Squad MC, meanwhile, opts out of Auto-Tune as he spits, “Spent a hundred racks to put three letters in my damn chain/Just do it big like Ving Rhames.”

“A-List” is slated to land on Sisqo’s upcoming LP, The Last Dragon, out September 9.

See What 15-Year-Old Miley Cyrus Wore To Her First VMAs

by 31 mins ago

After last year, it is truly hard to picture the Video Music Awards without Miley Cyrus. Like, there was a time when foam fingers only existed as accessories for sporting events, and to be honest, we can’t even remember what that life was like. There was, of course, a VMA world before 2013, and Miley Cyrus existed within that world. She’ll continue to exist in that world because–YUUUS–she’s attending the 2014 VMAs on Sunday. To fully prepare for her appearance, let’s take a closer look at Miley’s past VMA moments.

2008

Miley Cyrus, VMAsGetty Images

Aw, li’l bb Miley in a sparkly Zac Posen dress on the 2008 VMA Red Carpet. Miley nabbed a Best New Artist nomination that year (alongside Katy Perry and Taylor Swift, LOL) and introduced Pink. Maybe her 2012 Pink-esque haircut was inspired by that time she introduced her at the VMAs? We can dream.

Despite the fact that they were up against one another, Miley posed with Katy on the red carpet. She also practiced her tongue-wagging skills, which would come in handy five years later.

2011

Miley Cyrus, VMAsGetty Images

Miley didn’t attend the show in 2009 or 2010, but came back in 2011 in a full-length Roberto Cavalli gown. She wore her hair up–maybe foreshadowing that the following year she’d barely have any hair at all?

14 Maroon 5 Songs That’ll Have You Covered In Any Makeout Situation

by 7 mins ago

While there’s no way of knowing what exactly will go down when Maroon 5 perform live at the 2014 VMAs this Sunday, August 24, one thing is certain: Their music will compel somebody, somewhere, to spontaneously start making out with the nearest human mouth.

From the smoothed-out retro Bee Gees vibes of “Makes Me Wonder” to the gentle dance-pop thump of “Love Somebody,” every entry in Maroon 5‘s extensive discography is probably responsible for about a million makeout babies apiece. Speaking of which, it’s a good thing that’s not how babies work — at least where Adam Levine and company’s bank accounts are concerned.

In fact, if we really sat down and analyzed all five of Maroon 5′s studio albums — including V, which drops September 2 — we’d probably discover that the group is perhaps the most versatile rock band around, at least when it comes to soundtracking your makeout sessions.

Oh wait, we have sat down and analyzed that data, and it turns out that Maroon 5 literally have a song ready for any and every makeout situation imaginable. For example…

1.) “Harder To Breathe,” for when you’re macking on a total makeout n00b who’s blocking your passageways with their gargantuan tongue, and OH MY GOD GIVE ME AIR.

2.) Or how about “This Love,” when you are that makeout n00b. Why do they keep pulling away?!

3.) Are you making out with your fist after gluing googly eyes onto it? ...

That Amazing Dancer From Sia’s ‘Chandelier’ Video Visited The VMA Set And Danced All Over It

And, shocker, she danced all over the joint: from the parking lot to the make-up room, the VIP section and the red carpet. Check it out, and then deal with the fact that an 11-year-old pretty much stole all of the talent. All of it.

Sia agrees.

It's up to you to decide the winners of the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards! Vote now and tune in Sunday, August 24, at 9/8c ET to see who wins at the Forum in Inglewood, California. Plus, get the latest updates from all your favorite VMA artists on the MTV Artists App.

Watch The First Five Minutes Of Lifetime’s ‘Saved By The Bell’ Movie

by 1 min ago

For all the “Saved by the Bell” fans who been chomping at the bit to see Lifetime’s highly anticipated “The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story,” it’s your lucky day: The network has released the first five minutes.

The teaser clip begins with cast members discussing their collective angst about the show’s future in the back of a limo in Cincinnati circa 1990.

Worried that the show’s going to be canceled, the six dopplegangers for the real Lisa Turtle, Kelly Kapowski, Jessie Spano, Screech, A.C. Slater and Zach Morris, are relieved when they pull up on a mob of shrieking teenagers holding placards with their names on them.

Right away, though, it’s apparent that this isn’t your normal behind-the-scenes at Bayside High movie after the Screech interrupts Zach’s fourth-wall montage to give his first hand account.

“This time, it’s not about you,” he tells Zach. “This is my story…what really happened behind the scenes of America’s favorite Saturday morning show.”

In this installment of House Of Style, Special Correspondent Rita Ora makes two stops to visit two of our faves: Zendaya and Sarah Hyland.

Rita makes a house call to raid Zendaya’s closet, which is full of an eclectic mix of girly, edgy, sporty, and sophisticated pieces. (Can you spot the Rita x Adidas Originals collab?) R rifles through Z’s place, pulling out her favorite shoes, trendy shirts, and that Madonna-inspired custom Material Girl dress she wore to the Teen Choice Awards.

Later, the British beauty meets up with Sarah Hyland, who shows Rita around her favorite store to shop in L.A.: Planet Blue. The two thumb through the racks of the Cali girl dreamland, talking about boho style staples like white lace, braids, and body chains. Peep it all for yourself in this episode of House Of Style!

13 Reasons NOT To Watch The VMAs

by 7 mins ago

The VMAs are this Sunday, which you probably know because you were born knowing and ready. You’re well aware that Beyonce, Ariana Grande, 5SOS, Taylor Swift, Her Minajesty, Sam Smith (ready your feels!), Maroon 5 and Usher are performing live, and you’d sooner knowingly drink a thumbtack smoothie than miss a VMA lineup like that.

Yet surprisingly, there does seem to be a small, perplexing subset of the population that may choose not to watch the VMAs. Their reasons aren’t fully clear or realized, but I have a few anti-VMA theories, which I’ll share in a moment. Also, if you or someone you love find yourself strongly relating to the criteria below, maybe the VMAs just aren’t for you. That’s fine, I guess. There are lots of boring alternatives for you to enjoy. Like forced solitude or hateration.

Not gonna watch the VMAs? Maybe that’s because…

1. You’ve accepted a dreary life of boredom.

emma

2. You somehow hate fun. Rude.

3. You’re okay with missing the biggest night in pop music.

4. You didn’t realize the VMAs are free to watch.

5. You’re fine with not being able to relate to everything everyone will be talking about for the next three months, minimum.

6. You’re in a cult. Please stop reading this and seek help. (Unless the cult involves pure surrender to Beyonce.)
