Taylor Swift’s ‘Shake It Off’ Is Your New DGAF Anthem

by 2 mins ago

Just when I thought I was out, Taylor Swift pulls me back in. During her Yahoo! live stream on Monday (August 18), the 24-year-old singer officially announced the existence of her fifth studio album, 1989 — out October 27 — and the LP’s lead single, “Shake It Off.”

The song is the VMA performer’s latest collaboration with Swedish producers Max Martin and Shellback, who both co-wrote and produced the Red singles “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” “I Knew You Were Trouble,” and “22.” The decidedly country-less pop track is an infectious DGAF anthem, one that you’ll probably be shout-singing into a hairbrush by week’s end.

And because there was probably some superfan out there in Swiftieland who wasn’t sufficiently gasping for breath following those dual reveals, Taylor capped off the live stream with the world premiere of her “Shake It Off” video.

Directed by Mark Romanek, the clip explores the idea that, as Taylor put it: “You can tell who someone is by the way they dance.” Taylor chooses to explore this theme by throwing herself into the ring with a bunch of professional dancers trained in a variety of styles — you know, no pressure.

Taylor tackles the ballet world.

Christian Bale Welcomes Second Child With Wife Sibi

by 2 mins ago

Christian Bale is a father … again!

The “Dark Knight” actor and his wife, Sibi Bale, welcomed their second child on Monday (August 18), E! News is reporting.

The two have one other child, 9-year-old daughter Emmeline, who was born in March 2005.

While Bale is usually very private about his family life, in an interview with Esquire in 2010, he opened up about fatherhood, saying, “I love anything [my daughter] likes … I find myself tearing up at the most ridiculous things now, sitting next to my daughter while she’s watching a movie,” he said. “Me and my wife look across at each other like, ‘Oh my God! Are we really doing this? Yes we are!’”

When he isn’t caring for his newborn, Bale is busy gearing up for his role as Moses in Ridley Scott’s “Exodus: Gods and Kings.”

by 8 mins ago

Wiz Khalifa’s having the best week ever!

Not only is he releasing his third solo LP, Blacc Hollywood on Tuesday, he’s also celebrating his one-year wedding anniversary to Amber Rose today.

The “We Dem Boyz” rapper’s wife took to Instagram to post the most adorable picture of the couple’s nuptials from last year. In the photo, Wiz is dressed in a sharp fuschia and black tuxedo, while Amber, who is craddling their son, Sebastian “The Bash” Taylor Thomaz, is wearing a beautiful white dress.

Both Wiz and Amber are flashing megawatt smiles as Bash looks curiously into the camera.

“Today was the day we said our vows before God and our Family. I knew as soon as I met u, u were the one for me sweetheart. Happy 1 year anniversary @mistercap and many more to come❤️,” wrote Amber in the caption.

Although the couple officially married in a Los Angeles courthouse on July 8, they held a ceremoney for family and friends in Pennsylvania on August 18.

“Probably the first dance with me and Amber,” Wiz told MTV News last year about the best moment of the ceremony. “Seeing her walk down the aisle … was just mind-blowing.”

Police allegedly put Garner in a chokehold, which brought him to the ground; he died shortly thereafter.

“Ever since Mike Brown went down/ My whole city like, F–k a cop,” Buck raps on his verse.

Obama Speaks On Ferguson Protests: ‘We Must Listen And Not Just Shout’

by 5 mins ago

As protests continue in Ferguson, Missouri, in wake of the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown by police, President Obama addressed the nation on Monday (August 18) to urge everyone to maintain “peace and calm.”

Obama announced that the Department of Justice has opened an independent, federal civil rights investigation into Brown’s death and that Attorney General Eric Holder will visit Ferguson to meet with the prosecutors and community leaders there.

Things turned violent last week when protesters clashed with police, with police using tear gas, rubber bullets and armored vehicles. Obama denounced these actions — and emphasized the importance of maintaining a distinction between military and our domestic law enforcement — saying, “There’s no excuse for excessive force by police or any action that denies people the right to protest peacefully.”

Here Are The 27 Most Haunting Pictures From Ferguson This Weekend

But while the POTUS acknowledged that the “vast majority” of the protesters have been peaceful, he said there were still a minority who have not.

In fact, early on Monday, Gov. Jay Nixon ordered the National Guard into the city after declaring a state of emergency over the weekend.

“While I understand the passions and the anger that arise over the death of Michael Brown, giving into that anger by looting or carrying guns, and even attacking the police only serves to raise tensions and stir chaos,” he said. “It undermines rather than advancing justice.”

The Onion Thinks Facebook’s Proposed ‘Satire’ Tag Is For ‘Dipsh–’s

by 1 min ago

Everyone has that one Facebook friend — you know the one. The one that sends us into giggling fits of superiority when s/he unintentionally posts articles from The Onion to Facebook as if they were fact.

“This is a movie for children!” they rage, linking to an article about the Ninja Turtles’ CGI-spun genitals. SMH, am I right?

Well, now those poor souls could be spared the embarrassment that is believing fake news, as Facebook is testing a new “Satire” tag — an occurrence that prompted The Onion to respond in characteristically tongue-in-cheek fashion with an article titled “Area Facebook User Incredibly Stupid.”

“Describing him as frequently frustrated and overwhelmed, sources confirmed Monday that local Facebook user Michael Huffman is incredibly stupid,” The Onion wrote. “‘I need stuff easy,’ said the absolute dipsh–, adding that he finds many things confusing, and that those things must be changed so that they make sense to him.”

“At press time, someone had reportedly fixed everything for the goddamn imbecile,” the piece concludes.

Apparently, users had, indeed, been asking for such a feature — likely not as hilariously as the nonexistent Huffman, however.

Mashable reported this past weekend that the new proposed Facebook feature would add a tag reading “[Satire]” to articles found in the related articles unit in our News Feeds.

“This is because we received feedback that people wanted a clearer way to distinguish satirical articles from others in these units,” a Facebook representative told Mashable.

Although it may be obvious ...

This Guy’s Mugshot Will Crack You Up, And Not Just Because Of His Mustache

by 20 mins ago

Police busted 19-year-old Robert Burt of Pittsfield, Maine back in June for operating a vehicle under the influence and driving without a license. After the arrest, one of Burt’s [funny] co-workers decided to haze him by screen-printing the mustachioed mugshot on an orange T-shirt with “Burt Family Reunion 8/8-8/10/2014” and “sponsored by Bud Light and Somerset County Sheriff” below it. The “family reunion” bit is a reference to a member of Burt’s family who is currently incarcerated.

Fast forward to last week. Young mister Burt had to serve two days in custody after copping a drunk driving plea. Guess what shirt he wore to Somerset County Jail…

That’s right, Burt rolled up more than ready for his close-up. When booking him, the police took the mugshot you see above.

Unfortunately, the official mugshot cut off half the joke. Lower on the T-shirt there’s a photo of an overweight cat sitting on a couch next to a beer.

Burt spent 48 hours in jail and apparently kept the cops very amused. In fact, they asked Burt to hold the sign in his mugshot at just the right angle “so you could see the shirt,” he said on Facebook. “They laughed there asses off,” Burt triumphantly wrote.

Upon his release from prison, Burt declared on Facebook, “I’m out bitchs.” He soon afterward changed his profile picture to the now-infamous photo.

Watch Every Single Death From Every Quentin Tarantino Movie

by 21 mins ago

Since 1992′s “Reservoir Dogs,” Quentin Tarantino has been laying his great vengeance down with furious anger on his fictional creations.

Tarantino’s kind of like the movie version of George R.R. Martin: almost no one, including your favorite character (who’s being played by your favorite movie star), is safe from his wrath.

And while his use of naughty words is often chronicled (this “Just The Cussing” cut of “Pulp Fiction” being a good example), somehow no one thought to catalog the insane amount of dead bodies that have littered his movies.

That is until now, as Jaume R. Lauret has created what might be the ultimate Tarantino supercut: Every death in every Quentin Tarantino movie.

From the very first body to hit the floor in “Reservoir Dogs” to the final bloodbath in “Django Unchained,” this supercut should satisfy your blood lust, at least for today, as you relive the best, most horrifying, most heart-wrenching, most limb-chopping fatalities of the master filmmaker.

Quentin Tarantino // Every Death from Jaume R. Lloret on Vimeo.

And fear not, because QT’s got “The Hateful Eight” right on the horizon, and we’re sure at least a few of those eight probably won’t make it to the last frame. If this supercut is any indication, his death streak has actually increased as he’s gotten older, so we doubt anyone will be safe in that one.

‘Fault In Our Stars’ Director May Take On ‘Vampire Chronicles’

by 26 mins ago

Hot off of “The Fault in Our Stars,” director Josh Boone definitely had some options for what he could do next. The guy made a super-successful movie for not much money, which is the ultimate stamp of approval in Hollywood.

So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the guy is potentially adding another huge project onto his to-do list, which already includes — oh, you know — an adaptation of Stephen King’s “The Stand,” which has already chewed up and spit out a handful of directors.

According to The Wrap, Boone is who Universal wants to reboot the Anne Rice’s “The Vampire Chronicles.” The studio recently bought the rights to the series, which includes “Interview with the Vampire” and “Queen of the Damned.”

As interesting as this news is, Boone’s involvement with “The Vampire Chronicles” isn’t official yet, and there’s still no solid word on what Universal plans to do with the rights. Rice wrote 11 books in the series, which follows Lestat, a vampire who Tom Cruise played in the 1994 “Interview with the Vampire” film. There’s also a new novel — the first in 11 years — hitting shelves in the Fall.

So whether this is a remake of “Interview with the Vampire,” Rice’s first book in the series, or an adaptation of another one of the Lestat books, it looks like Boone may be the man with the gig… For now at least.
