Will Baby Bash Show Up On Wiz Khalifa’s Blacc Hollywood Tracklist?

by 05/18/14

Wiz Khalifa is getting ready to go full throttle. The Pittsburgh rapper is prepping a new mixtape called 28 Grams that he’ll drop shortly, and that will be followed by his much anticipated third major label album Blacc Hollywood.

Thus far he’s dropped the single “We Dem Boyz,” without revealing a full tracklist for the project — but there’s a pretty good chance that his son Sebastian “The Bash” Taylor Thomaz, will end up on the record.

“I always put my baby Amber on there, and Sebastian — he’s been coming to the studio more and more lately so it’s hard to keep him out of the booth,” Wiz told MTV News after his Hangout Festival set this weekend.

No details on exactly how Bash will be featured (baby’s first words?), but Wiz confirmed that the project is ready to drop as soon as he pulls the trigger.

“It’s all the way done, it’s finished, there’s nothing else to be done,” he confirmed. “I have a release date but we’ve got the tour coming up, so it’s just about putting everything into place before we let people know, but just know that it’s gonna come and it’s gonna be big.”

The Taylor Gang rapper recently struck up a friendship with legendary singer, Charlie Wilson, but unfortunately he won’t end up on the LP.

“I haven’t gotten a chance to work with him yet, but I text him all the time just to see how he’s doing and ...

At Cannes, Robert Pattison is Busy Redefining His Career with ‘The Rover’

by 05/18/14

Long gone are the Twilight days of Robert Pattinson’s career. In their stead? Well that’s where we get the really, really good stuff. And it may be with his latest film, The Rover, that the actor finally gets his due. But we suppose that’s what one would hope comes out of working with the acclaimed David Michôd, whose 2010 film Animal Kingdom was one of the most talked-about films at Cannes in 2010.

And dues he is getting — critics the world over are currently getting their cinematic fill in the fancy little French town, so there’s nary a reason to be easy on anyone. Instead of relegating Pattinson to the sparkly vampire corner now and forevermore, they’ve instead embraced the actor’s turn in the post-global-catastrophe film as a “revelation” and “career-redefining.” They just grow up so fast, don’t they?

Pattinson is repeatedly regaled as “the film’s greatest surprise” by critics, applauding him for being an “oasis of humanity in this stark, forsaken land.” To be a beacon of hope in a dystopian future? Not too shabby.

The film focuses on Guy Pearce’s character, Eric, on the hunt for his stolen car in a desolate Australian town ten years after the catastrophic event that took down the world’s economy. Think of it as a Dude, Where’s My Car? for the post-downfall-of-society age. Would that make Pattinson the Sean William Scott of this age? My, what a thought.

Fat Joe’s ‘Another Day’ Video Raises Kidnapping Awareness

by 05/18/14

Fat Joe has always represented for his hood but with his new video, Don Cartagena tells a drastically different story.

“Another Day,” which premiered Sunday (May 18), on MTV Jams as the station’s Jam of the Week, features Joe, Rick Ross, French Montana and Tiara Thomas. If the track sounds familiar to you, there’s a reason: it draws inspiration from Queen Latifah’s 1993 single “Just Another Day.”

While Tiara Thomas and French rework the memorable hook, Joe Crack spits about the ills of the world with a focus on children who have been kidnapped. “All I hear is sirens, the sound of guns blasting/ A little girl is missing but ain’t nobody asking,” he raps compassionately.

At the close of the video, the MTV2 “Off the Bat” host flashes a few key statistics across the screen. According to Joe’s estimation, 2,000 children go missing every day and 42 percent of missing children are African American and 28 percent are hispanic.

People Hula-Hooping On The Beach Is Even More Mesmerizing Than We Thought

by 05/18/14

When it comes to music festivals, you can count on three things: music (duh), flower crowns and, yeah, hula hoopin’. I jumped right into this trend earlier in the day at the 2014 Hangout Festival, and I must admit that it’s so addicting.

Watch these hoopin’ girls below and try not to be hypnotized.

Whoa, like f’real?

Can’t even.

How are they not dropping those hoops?

What are you, like, 10? I can barely get a hoop around my waist once.

The Black Keys Say Bieber Beef Is More Of ‘A Sausage Patty’

by 05/18/14

The Black Keys‘ Patrick Carney can eat Justin Bieber for breakfast. That is, of course, based on the name of the uneasy rift the two musicians have with each other.

The fight started around the 2013 Grammys, when the drummer made comments about Bieber’s money. Bieber responded on Twitter by saying he should be “slapped around.” A few tweets and many threatening Beliebers after, Carney said last week that Justin is a “fucking irresponsible asshole.”

“It never was a beef,” Carney told MTV News at the 2014 Hangout Festival, where they rocked the crowd as headliners. “I mean, I have a beef with a lot of people. I have a small beef with him. It’s more of like a sausage patty.”

Tasty.

So maybe Carney is ready to toss that sausage patty into the trash and move on?

“That whole thing, that’s so obnoxious,” Carney said. “[People ask] what do you think about Justin Bieber not having a Grammy? The dude’s a milionaire, you know? We’re from Akron, what kind of question is that? I’m a grown man. Why do I give a f–k about Justin Bieber? I’d rather have his stacks. We’d be racing Lamborghinis in Miami. That’s just us. We just haven’t gotten there yet.”

How Many Famous Faces Joined Andy Samberg For The ‘SNL’ Finale?

by 05/18/14

Here’s the fun thing about “SNL.” It’s like high school, where everyone gets nostalgic and can’t help but drop by to see each other again and rehash the best of times (albeit with way funnier people than your average hometown). Season finales usually feature some familiar faces, and this one might have set a record for most celebrity cameos in a single episode. (Our official count was 12.)

It all started in the monologue, where Andy Samberg was super excited to be back on the 8H stage. Samberg apologized that Justin Timberlake couldn’t make an appearance as he is currently on tour in Russia, but JT, ever the gentlemen, sent Samberg a picture for good luck.

Samberg was soon joined by former “Weekend Update” and current “Late Night” host Seth Meyers. Meyers challenges Samberg to best Bill Hader’s record of most celebrity impressions- 23. In lightening round fashion Samberg rips through Young John Travolta, Ryan Reynolds, Keanu Reeves, Zooey Deschanel, Seth Rogen and more, besting Hader at 24. But not to be outdone, Hader appears, retaining his master of impressions title as he pulls out Casey Kasem and Andy Samberg dialogue. Then for fun, Martin Short came over.

Celebs didn’t just hang out on set, but they got some love in the pre-taped Digital Shorts as well. In the first sketch Lil Jon tells a crowd of EDM concert-goers to “get turned up to death,” where the music makes heads explode. In the second short (yes we were spoiled) Pharrell joins The Lonely Island ...

Amber Rose Recreates Baywatch. You’re Welcome.

by 05/18/14

Sorry, Pamela Anderson. Drop the burger, Hasselhoff. Call us when you can storm the beach of Gulf Shores, Alabama, home of Hangout Fest, in an all-black ensemble (avec patent leather Doc Martens) and paradoxically save lives while slaying like muh girl Muvarosebud, aka @Darealamberrose, best known as Amber Rose, who’s hosting “MTV’s Summer Kickoff at Hangout Festival,” where she and host Andrew Schultz will be bringing you summer music, fashion, trends and highlights from Hangout Fest.

You’ll have to wait until the show airs Sunday, May 18 at 7p.m. ET, but until then, mediate on this photo of Amber Rose taking over an Alabama lifeguard stand, and marvel at the fact that her beauty is such that she makes a photo I casually snapped on my iPhone look like a Vanity Fair editorial that Annie Leibovitz and a team of photo pros planned for months. #blessed

Oh, and don’t miss Amber Rose photobombing like a boss and our touching tribute to America’s cutest couple, Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa. Real love, y’all.

The Flaming Lips Bring Rubber Duckies And Red Solo Cups To Hangout Fest — All The Weird… In GIFs

by 05/18/14

We had a high hopes for the Flaming Lips‘ set at Hangout Fest 2014 — what with Wayne Coyne’s Instagrams of that bloody muscle suit and that giant red Solo cup.

Well, Coyne and Co. did not disappoint; they served up a totally tripped-out kid’s cartoon of a performance, complete with singing trees, dancing mushrooms and a sea of bouncing, inflatable rubber duckies. Oh, and the Solo cup also made an appearance — filled with balloons, of course.

Yup, this merry band of freaks totally gave Diarrhea Planet and their crowd-surfing donuts a run for their proverbial money.

Busting into their set with a duo of their biggest hits — “She Don’t Use Jelly” and “Do You Realize” — the band segued into a more subdued set, eerily soundtracking the transition from night into day. And then it got weird again — with flashing lights and tons of ragged-rad noise. They even threw in crowd-pleasing covers of The Beatles’ “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds” and David Bowie’s “Heroes” for good measure.

Take a look at the collection of GIFs below and vibe out, man:

Andy Samberg Taps The Lonely Island And Pharrell For ‘SNL’ Digital Shorts

by 05/18/14

In his opening monologue as host of last night’s (May 17) “Saturday Night Live” episode, Andy Samberg recounted that he had appeared in 100 Digital Shorts, and approximately six live sketches. The guy who brought us “D**k In A Box” and “Lazy Sunday” delivered yet again when he treated the audience with not one, but two new Digital Shorts on the show’s season finale.

First up, Samberg appeared as a raving EDM DJ, perched high atop the elevated booth where he sits in front of a computer pumping out jams to the moshing crowd below. Davvincii, as he is called, fist pumps and finger points his way around, steering clear of pressing the bright red BASS button, leaving the ravers to wonder when the bass will drop. When Davvincii does drop the bass, Lil Jon appears to “get turned up to death.”

Call it a hunch, but we had a feeling that Samberg and his crew, The Lonely Island, were on the verge of releasing some new tunes. In the second Digital Short of the night Samberg and The Lonely Island boys rap about the non-exclusivity of giving out hugs. “You think we’re an item just because I gave you a hug last night? Trick, you better think again” sings Samberg. Pharrell jumps in on the fun, advising “Don’t catch feelings/It ain’t love/They’re just the kings of giving out hugs.”

‘Saturday Night Live’ Reveals Audio From Jay Z And Solange Elevator Fight

by 05/18/14

After a tumultuous week of elevator video footage, mysterious Instagram activity and a silence-breaking public statement, you’d think the Beyonce/Jay Z/Solange outburst would finally be put to rest.

But before we “move forward as a family,” “SNL” decided to uncover what Jay and Solange really were fighting about. Solange (Sasheer Zamata) and her brother-in-law Jay (Jay Pharoah) appear to make a joint statement, with a jumpy bodyguard (Kenan Thompson) standing nearby in case there are any sudden movements. Solange is all smiles, repeatedly expressing her love for Jay, citing the photo evidence at the Nets game the day after the leak. Then we are treated to the footage, with audio.

It turns out, Jay just had a spider on him. Solange is being a helpful family member by doing her best to get the spider off, slapping and kicking her way to protect him from his arachnaphobia. Check it out:
