How Carol’s Deadly ‘Walking Dead’ Twist Happened In The Comics

Warning: Massive spoilers from this week's "Walking Dead," and even bigger spoilers from the "Walking Dead" comics, are ahead!

Did you see Sunday's "Walking Dead" yet? If so, how are you holding up? That was fairly traumatic, wasn't it?

Carol's decision to execute Lizzie after Lizzie's decision to execute her little sister stands out as the bleakest moment on an already very bleak show. And while it came as a major surprise to fans who only watch the TV series, it wasn't a total curveball for folks who have read the "Walking Dead" comic books penned by Robert Kirkman and drawn by Charlie Adlard. A very similar event takes place in the comics, even if it plays out a bit differently. Here's how it shakes down, in case you're curious.

(And one last spoiler alert for good measure. If you don't read the comics but you plan to some day, we're about to spill some serious beans — or deer nuts, as it were. Seriously, final chance!)

So, to start, it wasn't Carol who pulled the trigger.

She was busy.

Tyreese wasn't there, either.

He, too, was busy.

And Lizzie and Meeka don't exist in the comics.

Instead, there are two twin brothers named Ben and Billy.

Billy's a sweet kid, but Ben? He's got some "Lizzie" problems.

After that, it doesn't take long for Ben to go "full Lizzie" on his brother.

The group agrees that something must be done about Ben. But one person takes matters into his own hands.

Emma Watson’s ‘Noah’: Check Out An Exclusive Excerpt From ‘Ila’s Story’

"Emma Watson's character, Ila. And exclusively for MTV News readers, we have an excerpt from the book below.

The daughter-in-law of Noah (Russell Crowe) anchors this junior novelization written by Susan Korman, and released by Titan Books. Based on the biblical story of Noah's Ark, the movie is written and directed by Darren Aronofsky, and stars Russell Crowe, Ray Winstone, Anthony Hopkins, Jennifer Connolly and Watson.

The young girl moaned, her eyes flitting open. A deep gash had pierced her belly, and blood was soaking through her dress.

Ila tried to sit up, but it hurt too much. She had no idea how long she'd been lying here, alone in the dark and cold. Right now the camp was silent and still. But earlier it had been filled with sounds, loud, terrifying sounds...

First hoofbeats and loud cries from a band of raiders. Then desperate screams from her mother and her aunts. The men in Ila's family had tried to fight back, but the raiders had arrived so swiftly, and with no warning... Even Ila and the other children had quickly seen that there was almost no chance of overpowering them.

"Mother," Ila whimpered now. But she knew her mother was dead. A brutal raider, his eyes gleaming like a snake's, had grabbed Mother. When she'd tried to fight, he had swiftly stabbed her with his spear.

Perhaps Father will find me, Ila thought. Father had rushed back into their tent for a weapon. He was very strong — able to lift Ila in his arms as ...

Lady Gaga’s Vomit Artist Responds To Demi Lovato’s SXSW Slam

Artist Millie Brown's performance with Lady Gaga at SXSW has had a lot of tongues wagging these past few days — including her own. You know, since she purposefully vomited colors all over the pop icon during her ARTPOP-packed Austin debut.

The messy display has earned its share of Web-time over the ensuing week, drawing criticism from the likes of Demi Lovato, who said that the performance glorified bulimia — criticism that Brown roundly negates.

"I can understand why people would make that association, but my performance really is not a statement about eating disorders themselves," Brown told MTV News. "It's like using my body to express myself. I think a lot of people understand that I'm not trying to punish myself and my body in that way."

"I obviously do not intend to promote bulimia," she added. "I think a lot of people who actually have suffered from eating disorders have found my performance very liberating — have come up to me personally and expressed that. So I think it has actually affected a lot of people in a positive way rather than negative."

Lovato, after seeing Brown do her thing on stage, felt differently. "Sad... As if we didn't have enough people glamorizing eat disorders already. Bottom line, it's not 'cool' or 'artsy' at all," Lovato tweeted. "Would you let someone bring a needle and shoot up on you? Addiction is addiction."

She then called herself a "little monster," affirming her Gaga fandom.

Although Lovato dismisses Brown's work — saying, "Putting the word ART in it isn't a ...

‘Game Of Thrones’ Author Has A Plan To Outrace The Show

"Must go faster. Must go faster."

These are not just the immortal words of Doctor Ian Malcolm in "Jurassic Park." It's also the mantra of fans of "A Song of Ice and Fire," the epic novel saga penned by George R.R. Martin, and the template for HBO's "Game of Thrones."

As it stands, Martin has released five of seven planned books in the "Ice and Fire" series. As it stands, HBO has aired three seasons of "Thrones," with a fourth premiering in just under three weeks. The TV series is on pace to catch up with Martin's novels in as little as one or two seasons, depending on who you ask. As a result, the possibility that the TV show might finish the story before Martin gets to do it on his own terms has caused some fans to lose their heads with worry.

(Too soon?)

But Martin has a plan. The author spoke with Vanity Fair about how the "Game of Thrones" novels and TV series can exist side by side at a similar pace.

"The season that's about to debut covers the second half of the third book," he said. "The third book ['A Storm of Swords'] was so long that it had to be split into two. But there are two more books beyond that, 'A Feast for Crows' and 'A Dance with Dragons.' 'A Dance with Dragons' is itself a book that's as big as 'A Storm of Swords.' So there's potentially three more seasons there, between 'Feast' and 'Dance,' if they split into two the way ...

‘Gotham’ First Look: Here’s The Penguin

Batman's coming to television — or, at least, many of his greatest villains are.

Fox's "Gotham" pilot is currently in production, now that the show's main cast has been finalized. The series focuses on rookie detective Jim Gordon before he became commissioner of Gotham City, and his budding friendship with young Bruce Wayne, immediately following the homicide of the future Batman's parents.

Given the focus on Wayne and Gordon's early years, fans can expect to see equally early versions of some of the other popular figures in the "Batman" universe. Case in point: Robin Lord Taylor, briefly seen on "The Walking Dead" as an ill-fated zombie-survivor, who joins "Gotham" as Oswald Cobblepot — the aspiring low-level gangster destined to become the ruthless Penguin.

While we're still not sure when we'll see the pilot, or a trailer for that matter, we already have an early look at "Gotham," courtesy of on-set photographs from Splash News. Here's what Taylor looks like as Cobblepot:

Pretty quacking good, right? The oversized glasses, the bow tie, the greasy hair — all of it comes together to create the full Penguin package. Great stuff.

As a bonus, do you see the newspaper Cobblepot is reading? It features a first look at Ben McKenzie as Jim Gordon and Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, two of the GCPD's finest. Looks like their hunt for Thomas and Martha Wayne's killer has reached some sort of conclusion, but smart money says there's more to the story than meets the eye.

What do you think of the "Gotham" first look? Let us know ...

‘Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Has A Deathlok Problem

I like now more than ever. Interesting things are happening on the series. Two of the S.H.I.E.L.D. members have died (or borderline died) and subsequently been resurrected by mysterious serums mined from giant blue alien-ish creatures that appear to be Frost Giants. That does not suck.

Plus, with "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" coming up, there's inevitable fallout hitting S.H.I.E.L.D. in the coming weeks, too. Double plus, there's Bill Paxton and the coming arrival of Adrian Pasdar. Triple plus, there's the fact that Deathlok is already here. All good things, right?

Well, maybe not the last one.

New images from an upcoming episode of "S.H.I.E.L.D.," titled "End of the Beginning," have arrived online, giving us our best look yet at what disfigured ex-agent Mike Peterson looks like as the cybernetic Deathlok. Spoiler alert: It ain't pretty, and not in the right way. Avert your eyes now if you don't want to see.

Seriously, go away if you want to wait to see him until the episode premieres in two weeks. Because here he is:

As our friends from a different sci-fi show might respond: "What the frak?"

We've already seen that Deathlok is assembling himself piece by piece. He has the eye implant courtesy of the technology first introduced through Akela Amadaor in "Eye-Spy." He has the bionic leg as seen in the Skye-falling "T.R.A.C.K.S." Now, it looks like he'll have some wrist and chest-mounted support by the time "End of the Beginning" airs on April 1.

(Yes, it's another two weeks until a new "S.H.I.E.L.D." ...

‘The Raid 2’ NSFW Clip: It’s Hammer Time

Two years ago, director Gareth Evans started a revolution in the action movie genre. His film, "The Raid," became a favorite at film festivals before rolling out in a limited release that spawned a cult following.

And now he and his team of expert martial artists are back for "The Raid 2," and MTV News has an exclusive (and NSFW) clip from the upcoming sequel.

Anyone who saw the original "Raid" understood immediately that it wasn't like anything Hollywood was putting into theaters. For one, it had a straightforward premise. An elite SWAT team enters a tenement building, filled with criminals, to arrest the drug lord who sits at the top. That's the entire story, and the thing just goes from there.

But it doesn't just go. It rockets forward. The characters in "The Raid" fight in the pencak silat style — a signature of Evans' movies — and fights are kinetic and non-stop. That style has been carried over to "The Raid 2," but the scope of the story has been blown out in a big way.

Iko Uwais, who played the hero Rama in "The Raid," is back for the follow-up, which picks up the story just minutes after the end of the original. After making his way to the top of the tower, the cop is sent undercover to expose corruption within the police and take out the syndicate for good.

Over the course of the film's massive two and a half hour runtime, we meet a host of new characters, including Hammer Girl, who's featured in our exclusive clip.

"The ...
