Jay Z And Kanye’s SXSW Reunion: 5 Things To Expect (And Hope For)

SXSW just got a lot more interesting. Samsung announced Monday (March 10) that Jay Z and Kanye West will be descending upon the already star-studded festival Wednesday for a special, one-night-only performance at Austin Music Hall.

But here's the catch: wristbands for the epic Watch The Throne reunion will only be handed out to owners of Samsung Galaxy devices — with the Milk Music ad-free radio service downloaded on it — starting Tuesday (March 11) morning at 10 a.m. at the Galaxy Experience located on Second Street and Trinity.

The fact that Samsung is responsible for the hottest ticket at the festival this week should come as no surprise, considering the company helped Hov usher in his "new rules" with the release of his latest opus, Magna Carta Holy Grail with one million copies sold the day it debuted. A lot has changed in Jay and Ye's lives since they last toured together in 2012, so here's a few things we'd all like to see when they hit the stage:

1. Break Their 'Paris' Record
While in Paris, the pair performed their Grammy Award-winning "N---as in Paris" a record 12 straight times. For this one-off show, we'd love to see them go for the baker's dozen.

2. A Cameo From Kim And Bey
Since they went their separate ways to tour for MCHG and Yeezus, respectively, Kanye has found his own Bonnie to his Clyde, so it's only right that both of the rap kings' queens join them onstage.

3. And Another From JT
Kanye can squash his beef with ...

Hello there, good-looking reader. We know a few things about you, just by looking at you. You have a lot going on in your life, short on time but long on the need for pop culture savvy. When "Veronica Mars" was on the air almost a decade ago, you may not have found the time to watch it. After all, DVR wasn't really a thing then, and the show was only on for three seasons. (RIP, UPN.)

Now, however, what's a culture addict to do when a hotly anticipated, Kickstarter-funded movie is on the horizon, and there's no time (or attention span) to be found to watch the entire series before the Friday release date? Watch the first eight minutes of the film with our handy annotations, of course, and then sit back and enjoy the ride come this weekend. Welcome to Marshmallow-dom, reader.

You can check out the first eight minutes of the movie now on Fandango. Here are your study notes to bone up before the final exam Friday.

"I need your help, Veronica."

Everyone needs something, right? As it turns out, people need a lot from Veronica. Every week on the show, some student or another would corner her (often in the bathroom, weirdly) to enlist her services in proving tampering in student elections, finding a ...

There Are Four Lily Allens In ‘Our Time,’ And They’re All Badass

There are many, many Lily Allens — the one with the pink eyeshadow in "Smile," the washed-up party girl in "22,," the bad bitch in "Hard Out Here" — and in her latest video, for "Our Time," we see what happens when four of them get drunk and team up for a wild night out in Londontown.

There's the most recognizably Lily Allen Lily Allen, wearing a white fur coat and her jet-black hair in a high ponytail. Then there's the more uptown-girl Lily, her hair in a posh updo. And finally, there's the rough-around-the edges blonde, who ends up getting into a fight with the one dressed up as a hotdog — apparently, the sausage product is having a moment. But worry not, they make up, and all four share a rather friendly cab ride home together — with the blonde and the raven-haired Lilys even sneaking in a steamy — and, if you think about it, a very weird —kiss in the back seat.

It's all fitting for the slightly hedonistic "Our Time," off Allen's May 5 album Sheezus. "And we can swing and dance the night away/ We don't give a damn what people say," Allen sings on the track. "We've had enough so turn it up/ Tonight we're taking over."

"Our Time" is the third single off Sheezus. In addition to the video, Allen also revealed the full track list for her May 5 album on Monday:

» "Sheezus"
» "L8 Cmmr"
»"Air Balloon"
» "Our Time"
» "Insincerely Yours"
» "Take My Place"
» "As Long As I Got You"
» "Close Your ...

Lil Boosie Wrote 1,018 Songs, A Book And A Movie In Prison

After serving four years in prison for a drug conviction and probation violation, Lil Boosie is finally home. The Baton Rouge rapper was released last week, to his own surprise, and on Monday (March 10) he made his first public appearance during a live stream Q&A in New Orleans.

After some words from Bun B, Jeezy and his lawyers, Boosie sat down with host Angela Yee to explain what it's been like getting reacquainted with the world. The 31-year-old said the first thing he did upon was release was to pick up his seven children in Baton Rouge, and since then he's been in the studio working on his next album.

Boosie admitted that he's had to get used to some new applications, like Instagram and Apple's FaceTime, which weren't popular when he was first locked up. That said, he noted that social media has definitely earned him some new fans, and the excitement for his release was palpable, with one fan even comparing his return to Jesus' resurrection. He still hasn't tweeted, officially, but he's gearing up for it.

Video streaming by Ustream

During the Q&A he revealed that he'd penned 1,018 songs while behind bars — yes, 1,018, which gives him plenty of material for the new album he's already begun to record. Boosie explained that he's currently restructuring his deal with Trill Entertainment and Atlantic Records, both of which have been fully supportive of him.

And, who would he like to work with? "I got a hit for Justin Bieber," he answered, to laughter.

Despite being on probation, possibly ...

Lady Gaga Is The First Woman In 15 Years To Keynote SXSW Music

Lady Gaga's performance and keynote speech at South By Southwest Festival will be historic for more than one reason. Not only will this mark Gaga's first stint at SXSW, she's also the youngest keynote speaker the fest has ever had at 27 — and the first woman in 15 years.

"I think she's a pretty obvious keynote choice," music festival general manager James Minor told MTV News. "Our festival is known for its diversity and I believe that having her as a keynote follows with that thinking. In the past we've had everybody from Lou Reed to Smokey Robinson to Dave Grohl. We've kept it pretty diverse throughout the years."

Although speakers have, indeed, run the gamut over the years, it has been a while since one of those speakers has been a woman, according to Minor. The last female speaker was singer Lucinda Williams in 1999.

"It's definitely not something that we planned," Minor said. "It's just kind of the way that things worked out. It's about time."

Gaga announced last week that she would be making her very first SXSW appearance with a performance Thursday evening at the Stubb's Doritos #BoldStage.

All proceeds will go to the Born This Way Foundation and tickets will be doled out to fans who undertake Doritos Bold Mission challenges, which include everything from busking to leaping from a platform and nabbing a golden ticket.

Minor doesn't know what is expect from the performance quite yet, but he thinks it will certainly be unique. "It's something that she's developing just for ...

‘Walking Dead’ Star Emily Kinney Resurrects <i>Expired Love</i> On New Album

As the young, optimistic Beth Greene on actress Emily Kinney has been known to bust out with a cover song or two, riffing on jams by the likes of Tom Waits and Waxahatchee. However, in the land of the real — where zombies are not yet feasting on our lives and limbs — Kinney is all about the originals.

The actress/musician has two albums under her belt currently: Blue Toothbrush, which she released after she made her Broadway debut in "Spring Awakening," and Expired Love, which she plans to re-release on March 18.

"Expired Love was a lot about relationships and relationships that were over and sort of dealing with a way to put them in a little place and move on," Kinney told MTV News. "Now I'm finding I am writing some different songs about how my life has changed a bit with 'Walking Dead' and maybe what it means to be an artist."

Expired Love is composed of seven vocals-driven tracks that take place in Kinney's current hometown of New York City — songs that deal with everything from long walks with exes around Times Square to parties in Brooklyn. And, despite its seemingly Dead-themed title, it's a lot lighter than the subject matter of the popular TV show.

"I like to use the places around me, I like to use real situations I've been in to at least start the song," she said. So, think lingering exes rather than lingering corpses.

When it comes to balancing her musical and actor-ly aspirations, Kinney said that she gives each ...

Little Mix Take The Toilet Paper Challenge And Tell A Crazy Story: Watch

Little Mix came in for "Live from MTV" on Monday (March 10), treating Mixers to a little story time.

The fivesome are smack dab in the middle of the Neon Lights Tour, opening for Demi Lovato. And since they've been busy taking stage after stage, Perrie, Jesy, Leigh-Anne and Jade have racked up quite the collection of stories.

From describing the moment they met to their craziest moments from the tour, they went in depth with each story, giving fans every detail — including their first impressions of each other on "X Factor."

"I was expecting her to be like Ellie Goulding's voice," Jesy said of meeting Perrie, whom she described as a boho, hippie chick during auditions. "But then she started singing like [diva voice]!" Turns out, every girl surprised each other.

Along with the stories, Little Mix played a bunch of fun games, including Little Mix Remix, where they had to make-over songs. The group rapped En Vogue's "Don't Let Go" in harmony, and we're pretty sure it's radio ready. Hip-hop world, watch out!

In anticipation of Perrie's wedding to One Direction's Zayn Malik, they played a bridal shower game, crafting dresses out of toilet paper and the audience members served as models. If you think that's difficult, well, they only had 60 seconds to do it. Now that's a challenge!

Girls On ‘Girls’: Brooklynite Hilarie Doesn’t Do Wigs

We asked real Brooklynite Hilarie Ashton what she thought of this week's episode of "Girls," "Role Play."

TXT Remember the time you threw on a blonde wig and pretended not to know your boyfriend, resulting in him being assaulted by a well-meaning stranger on the street? Yeah, us too.

For a show that's supposed to be about New York women figuring it all out, an alarming number of the voices leading the conversation about HBO's "Girls" appear to be, well, not New York women, figuring it out or otherwise. Enter Girls on "Girls," our weekly reaction column spotlighting the ladies who know what's what when it comes to being female in the city.

This week, we're joined by 30-year-old Hilarie Ashton, who hails from Brooklyn's Fort Greene neighborhood, to discuss the March 9 episode, "Role Play." Read on for discussions of bad job interviews, whether Hilarie is a "girl" and when it's appropriate to wig out.

I have a complicated relationship with GIRLS. I hate-watched the first few episodes of the first season, and quickly realized I actually loved it. That latter feeling usually persists, punctuated by bouts of "Ugh! I can't believe [blank] just said that."
