Kanye West Gets Sentimental On The College Dropout’s 10th Anniversary

Kanye West is feeling a little sentimental today, but can you blame him? Exactly 10 years ago he released his debut album, The College Dropout, laying out chapter one in a flourishing career that has seen no limits since then. That's definitely worth reflecting on.

On Monday (February 10), 'Ye took to Twitter to thank fans for sticking with him through his come up, reiterating that it wasn't an easy ride.

"Ten years ago today we finally released what had been my life's work up to that point: The College Dropout," he began. "I say "finally" because it was a long road, a constant struggle, and a true labor of love to not only convince my peers and the public that I could be an artist, but to actually get that art out for the world to hear. I am extremely grateful to each and every person along that road who helped, lent an ear, lent their voice, gave of their heart to that project, and to all the projects that followed, and are to come."

Though we often hear Kanye venting about his issues with detractors, today he was only focused on the positive.

"I am honored and humbled by my fans, for the unwavering support and love over the past ten years," he continued. "I wake up every day trying to give something back to you that you can rock to and be proud of. Ten years later I am still the same kid from Chicago, still dreaming out loud, still banging on the door. The doors may be heavier, ...

Nick Jonas Ready To Show People What Kind of Musician He Really Is

Fans might have been pleasantly surprised when the news broke that Nick Jonas would be taking on the job as creative and music director of Demi Lovato's Neon Lights Tour.

For the past several months, Nick and Demi have been working hard on her but now that the tour is officially underway, it's time for Nick, who parted ways with his brothers back in October, to concentrate on his next venture: himself.

"I'm still figuring out all the pieces. I'm working on just trying to be creative right now," Jonas recently told MTV News. "I've actually got a handful of songs that I'm really excited about."

It turns out fans might get to hear this music sooner rather than later, with Nick teasing that they will be "releasing some news pretty soon."

"It's very exciting," Nick said. "And I'm ready to sort of show people who I am as a musician and play that out."

Nick, who is also starring in the upcoming thriller "Careful What You Wish For," is no stranger to working on his own. Back in 2010, Nick formed his band, Nick Jonas & the Administration, and released their album, Who I Am, an acoustic-folk-pop record that peaked at #3 on the Billboard charts.

Even though the Jonas Brothers might have broken up, citing a deep rift in the band, that hasn't stopped them from seeing each other. Nick, along with his brother Joe, both posted photos of themselves meeting big brother Kevin's new baby girl, Alena Rose, who was born earlier this ...

Girls On ‘Girls’: Brooklynite Maddy’s Dog Is Such A Jessa

Here's the thing about free snacks in office environments: Everyone loves them, but seemingly nobody knows how to act appropriately around them. It's like spotting Tina Fey on the street — yeah, you love her, but you're gonna be mad at yourself if you don't approach her, but you're also gonna feel pretty bad if you approach her. As we saw on this week's episode of "Girls," "Free Snacks," Hannah knows the snack struggle is real. As it turns out, this week's Girls on "Girls" special guest, 27-year-old Maddy Boesen, knows it too.

It seems that the discussion around "Girls," a show centering around the lives of young women figuring it out in present day New York City, is led overwhelmingly by, well, not girls. Enter Maddy and the rest of our weekly Girls on "Girls" panelists, whose expertise on the show comes from living it.

Maddy is a social science researcher who hails from the Brooklyn neighborhood of Crown Heights. Read on to find out who in her life is such a Jessa, her office snack wisdom and the worst thing she's ever said to a boss.

Are You A Girl?

I'm most-down with "lady." "Woman" is fine, too.

Do You Relate To 'Girls' In General?
Oh, strongly, although more in relation to who I was four or five years ago than where I am now. In each episode of seasons 1 and 2, Hannah says something I have said verbatim. I enjoy anti-heroine stories in general, but there's something about the specific opportunities one has in Brooklyn that nurtures Hannah's dark side ...

Benedict Cumberbatch Explains His Controversial ‘Sherlock’ Relationship

The last episode of "spoiler) the titular detective revealed he wasn't dating one of Watson's wife's best friends for love... It was to gain access to an adversary's files.

The DVD/Blu-ray collection for season three, which hits stores February 11 from BBC Home Entertainment, includes a number of special features. But the one of most interest for fans who still debate the above sequence of events would be "Fans, Villains & Speculation: The Legacy of Sherlock Holmes," featuring an interview with series producers Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss and star Benedict Cumberbatch, explaining the decision to have Sherlock break a woman's heart; a feature we have an exclusive excerpt from below.

"In the original story, he does become engaged to Milverton's maid," Gatiss explains. "Heartlessly, which is what Steven has extrapolated into this thing."

Gatiss and Moffat go on to laugh about how Watson's (Martin Freeman) reaction to Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch) was their reaction, as well. "But you're behaving like a human being here!" Gatiss says, laughing.

"You think it's nice, he's become humanized," Moffat continues. "He knows how to do all that, but he exploits it to terrible ends."

"It's devastatingly cruel, what he does," Cumberbatch adds on a more somber note. "He inveigles his way back into her life and impresses her, and turns his ability on to a single focus."

You can check out the rest of the feature, as well as two more exclusive to home video featurettes when the blu-ray and DVD hit stores on February 11.

How You Can (Maybe) Still Download Flappy Bird

That horrified squawking you heard from the smartphone-clutching masses over the weekend wasn't a reaction to a widespread bug or outage — no, it was because Flappy Bird will flap no more.

The game, a relatively new phenomenon created by developer Dong Nguyen, flew to the top of Android and iTunes app store charts in recent weeks. It's been available for download since May, but gained popularity only recently.

"I cannot take this anymore," Nguyen tweeted, announcing that he would pull the game from the stores, barring further downloads.

Well, that app flew the nest pretty quickly. Safe to say, addicts are in quite the flap.

Those mourning the loss of the simple game (the user simply had to navigate their basic bird avatar between Super Mario-style water pipes without crashing) have two options to get their game on in spite of Nguyen's reluctance.

If you were one of the many who deleted the addictive game from their phones in a fit of flappy rage, you're in luck: iPhone users can still access the app by checking under the "purchased" tab in the app store.

Even if you never ventured into the depths of Flappy Bird Land, it's still not too late for you — provided you've got the cash and determination. Phones with the app installed are selling for a song on eBay, with one in particular fetching a top bid of $99,900. Easy peasy.

In memoriam of the game, MTV News has collected a few of the most flap-happy tweets about the slain app.

Sam has standards.

Beyonce’s His ‘n’ His Valentine’s Undies Are About Equality

In addition to being a day for love, Valentine's Day is also the one day a year that someone else (besides your mom) buys you undies. In celebration of said skivvy-giving, Beyoncé is out with some intimate new merch and, like Bey herself, they're all-inclusive. No simple "his 'n' hers" for Yoncé.

Currently on Beyoncé's site fans can purchase many iterations of the "Yours & Mine Box Set": one for every kind of couple — be they gay or straight.

The "Mine" undies are a reference to a track off of her self-titled record, and the font spelling out the saucy words is the same as that found on her album cover.

Bey has been a long-time supporter of gay rights and gay marriage. Last year, at the start of California's Proposition 8 hearings, she took to Instagram to show her support for couples wanting to tie the knot, saying: "If you like it you should be able to put a ring on it," including, "We will unite 4 marriage equality!"

She also posted a photo of the Human Rights Campaign's red equal sign with the caption, "It's about time #equality #prop8 #marriageislove . . . show your support!"

V Day is already turning out to be Bey Day for a lot of lovers — one Brooklyn restaurant even has a Beyoncé-themed menu.

"We were just thinking about how to do something fun!" Zahra Tangorra, owner and chef of NYC's Brucie restaurant told E! News. "We have all been so obsessed with the new Beyoncé record and she has always been fabulous ...

How Did Kanye’s Red Octobers Become The Game’s Most-Wanted Sneaker? Here’s A Timeline

For all of the hype built around Nike and Kanye West's Air Yeezy 2s, the much-coveted Red October color just came and went on Sunday.

There was almost a year of hype and genuine controversy, which began with 'Ye's May episode of "Saturday Night Live" and a Kim Kardashian Instagram. But after a couple media rants and a rivaling Adidas contract, it seemed unlikely that the Nike design would ever see the light of day.

Nike announced via Twitter on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET that that Yeezys were available on their website for $245 ... 11 minutes later, a second tweet said the sneaker was sold out.

If you blinked, you missed it, but it's surely worth taking a look at the timeline.

May 18, 2013 — During his spirited "Saturday Night Live" performance, 'Ye not only debuted new music, but his all-red Yeezy 2s as well. Wife-to-be Kim Kardashian helped increase the hype with a glimpse of the shoe on Instagram.

June 12, 2013 — West's long-time manager Don C teased a blank image on Instagram with hashtags #airyeezy2 #redoctobers. 'Ye also announced that he'd raffle off 50 pairs of the shoe around this same time, though we don't think that happened.

October 14, 2013 — Just days after her infamous white swimsuit pic, Kim K showed off a pair of the kicks on IG. "Special delivery!!! Kanye is rehearsing for his tour so I can't bug him right now...hmmmm what should I do with these? #Yeezys #RedOctobers," she wrote.

November 20, 2013 — ...

A Tortured History Of The ‘Independence Day’ Sequel

Tell me if you've heard this one before: Will Smith will officially not be in the "Independence Day" sequel, which is tentatively titled "ID4-ever," which will maybe come out in 2016 and possibly star some of the original cast, including an unconfirmed Michael B. Jordan.

Roland Emmerich's follow-up to the blockbuster that put him, Will Smith and blowing up the White House on the map has been a long time coming, and it's been a rocky road for the movie since its announcement way back in 2009.

Here's a look at the sequel's ups and downs as it has limped its way into production.

October 12, 2009: The Sequel Is Announced

Right on the heels of box office flop "10,000 BC" and just before the moderately successful "2012," Emmerich drops the first word that he and screenwriter Dean Devlin are planning a sequel to "Independence Day." According to Emmerich, having Will Smith on board is "essential for us, for this movie and actually for the audience too."

So much for that.

November 12, 2009: "There's No Script. There's An Idea."

Emmerich gives a few hints regarding "Independence Day 2," the biggest of which is that it would actually be "Independence Day 2 and 3" (because trilogies were so "in" in 2009). Says Emmerich, "We want to do a bigger arc ... and just continue where [the first movie] ended."

Also, the movies would be called "ID4-ever," which would prove to be inspiration for James Franco's famous line in "Spring Breakers."

It's hard to imagine "ID4" without Will ...
