‘The Raid 2’: The Sundance Reviews Are In

Director Gareth Evans' "The Raid 2" doesn't hit theaters for a few months yet, but the Indonesian martial arts epic has already enjoyed an early premiere at the Sundance Film Festival — and based on early reviews, the film's theatrical release cannot come soon enough.

Critics are raving following Tuesday's premiere of Evans' "Raid" sequel, which follows Iko Uwais' Rama out of the tenement building and onto the mean streets of Jakarta. By and large, reviewers agree that "The Raid 2" improves on the first film in significant ways, with some going so far as to call it the "Dark Knight" of action movies. High praise, to be sure.

Take a closer look with this snap-shot of reviews.

The Story
"Whereas the first movie was mean and lean, the sequel is epic and explosive with a twisting crime drama serving as the backdrop for some of the best action scenes you'll ever see. ... Picking up where the first film left off, Rama (Iko Uwais) has brought in corrupt cop Wahyu (Pierre Gruno), and is now being offered the chance to go after the big fish that are ruining the city. He's reluctant to join the cause, but when the increasingly powerful gangster Bejo (Alex Abbad) kills [REDACTED FOR SPOILERS], the super cop agrees to go undercover and bring down crime boss Bangun (Tio Pakusodewo). Daniel Radcliffe Builds The ‘Brooklyn Bridge’

For his next announced project, Daniel Radcliffe will once again be leaving the wands and wizardry of "Harry Potter" behind him — although, based on the film's premise, some magic might have come in handy.

Radcliffe is attached to headline a new drama titled "Brooklyn Bridge" for director Douglas McGrath, Goldcrest Films and Killer Films. The movie takes its cues from true events, chronicling the construction of New York City's iconic Brooklyn Bridge. Radcliffe will play a "brilliant but inexperienced engineer" who oversees the bridge's construction following the death of his father, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"Besieged by calamity, danger and doubt, his obsession to get the job done threatens his health and his family until he discovers an improbable ally in his charming and shrewd wife," THR adds. According to the report, producers are currently working on announcing the other actors in the film, including the lead actress.

"Having Daniel's involvement is a massive coup for the film," said Goldcrest Films' Pascal Degove of Radcliffe's casting. "Not only is he perfect for the role, but he's consistently proved himself to be one of the very few actors who is genuinely a massive draw for audiences of all ages."

Filming on "Brooklyn Bridge" begins in August. Beyond that film, Radcliffe has several projects in several stages of development, including the currently filming "Frankenstein" and the as-yet-unreleased "Horns," based on Joe Hill's novel.

Matt Damon Dishes On ‘Interstellar’: ‘Just Another Big, Awesome Chris Nolan Movie’

As Christopher Nolan continues to shroud with secrecy, we will continue to harass his actors into revealing details about the highly anticipated project.

Our latest victim: Matt Damon, who kept plot details under wraps but was quick to gush about the "awesome" performances that we can expect to see.

"I don't have a big part," he said, "I was thrilled to be able to work with Chris and I had a blast working with him."

The star-studded film boasts performances from Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Casey Affleck, Michael Caine, John Lithgow, Ellen Burstyn and even little Renesmee herself, Mackenzie Foy. According to a brief synopsis of the film, it involves space explorers, a wormhole and interstellar travel.

"I really had so much fun and Matthew... talk about being in the zone. He's really just crushing everything right now," Damon gushed. "I think it's gonna be great. I think it's gonna be just another big, awesome Chris Nolan movie with awesome performances from Matthew and Anne."

And while "Interstellar" doesn't hit theaters until November 7, Damon can be seen opposite George Clooney, Bill Murray, John Goodman and Cate Blanchett, to name a few, in out February 7.

So what's next for Damon? Well, as long as he and Ben Affleck are BFFs (spoiler alert: the second "F" stands for "Forever"), there will be speculation about another on-screen team-up. The most recent gossip monger: none other than Harvey Weinstein, who last week went public with his desire to have the duo take on the leading roles in "A Speck ...

Two ‘Game Of Thrones’ Stars In Running For ‘Fantastic Four’ Lead

Of the big superhero movies scheduled (or previously scheduled) to hit the big screen in the summer of 2015, Fox's reboot of "The Fantastic Four" is the one we've heard the least about. While and before getting delayed, the Marvel team of Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch and the Thing have beensuspiciously absent from the conversation.

Well, Variety ended some of the radio silence today, reporting that Simon Kinberg's rewrite of the script is finished and that director Josh Trank ("Chronicle") is expected to test actors for the roles of Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman by the end of the month.

The super elastic Mr. Fantastic has been a role often associated with "Spectacular Now" breakout Miles Teller, but Variety claims he is just one of three actors testing for the part. The other two slots belong to "Game of Thrones" actors Richard Madden and Kit Harington.

When MTV News spoke with Teller last week at the Sundance Film Festival, where he premiered "Whiplash," the actor expressed uncertainty and enthusiasm for the role.

"I've told you this before. I think Josh Trank is a very talented film maker," he said. "I think that if it were all to come together and land in my pocket, I would absolutely love to put a new face and a new spin on a character, one that people have already done and do something different with it."

As for the part of Sue Storm aka the Invisible Woman, Variety claims that franchise shortlist regular Saoirse Ronan is testing along with Kate ...
