Lady Gaga, Madonna Accused Of Breaching Russian Immigration Laws

After months out of the spotlight, Lady Gaga is prepping for her likely triumphant return with ARTPOP, and Little Monsters across the globe are waiting with open arms. But one country may not be so welcoming.

Nine months after a live show in St. Petersburg, Russian politician Vitaly Milonov has reportedly filed a request to launch an investigation into Gaga's stay in the country, saying she did not obtain the proper visa to perform. According to the conservative lawmaker, the singer only had a tourist visa at the time, which does not allow for commercial activity. He's launching the same accusation at Madonna, who visited the country in August 2012, reportedly with the same type of visa.

According the The Guardian, prosecutors are considering asking Russia's foreign ministry or federal migration service to press charges.

The claims come at a fragile moment in the United States' relationship with Russia. In late December, President Vladimir Putin approved a law banning American families from adopting Russian children, and the country's discrimination against homosexuals has been met by outcry from the U.S. and beyond.

Following their 2012 shows, Milonov accused both Gaga and Madonna of "promoting homosexuality" to minors, which is illegal under a recently passed law. Madonna used a show in Moscow to express her support for Pussy Riot, who were jailed in the country after speaking out against Putin. Gaga, meanwhile, had been accused by Milonov of using her "music, songs and such" to make "direct calls to 12-year-old citizens to support the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual ...

Daft Punk To Appear On ‘The Colbert Report’

Stephen Colbert is about to "Get Lucky."

Daft Punk will make a rare TV appearance on Tuesday (August 9) night's episode of "The Colbert Report," a spokesperson for Comedy Central has confirmed to MTV News. And, from the sound of things, they'll be performing, too.

"'The Colbert Report's' concert series 'Colbchella' will feature Daft Punk on Tuesday," the rep for Comedy Central wrote in an email.

It will mark the Daft Punk's first TV appearance since releasing Random Access Memories earlier this year, and while it's not clear what songs Daft Punk will be performing on the show, one can logically assume it will be their massive hit especially given a somewhat random appearance Colbert filmed earlier this week on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," when he shuffled onto the set to the strains of the song before disappearing without saying a word.

Fans of the "Report" quickly began speculating that scene was shot for a skit that will also feature Daft Punk, though it's not known if the other artists featured on "Get Lucky" — Pharrell and Nile Rodgers — will also appear on the show.

Reps for Daft Punk did not respond to MTV News' request for comment on the matter by press time.

Last year, Colbert's "Colbchella" concert — officially dubbed — took place on the deck of the U.S.S. Intrepid, and featured performances by Fun., Santigold, the Flaming Lips and Grizzly Bear. In 2011, Colbchella's "Rock You Like A Thirst-Icane" boasted a lineup that included Bon Iver, Florence and the Machine, Talib ...

Mark Wahlberg, Denzel Washington Point ‘2 Guns’ At ‘Smurfs’

The first weekend in August promises a close race at the box office between action duo Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg, Smurfette Katy Perry and clawed superhero Hugh Jackman.

At a time when the summer-blockbuster season usually starts to cool down, featuring Perry as the voice of Smurfette and R-Rated action-comedy "2 Guns" will squabble for #1 against last weekend's well-reviewed Hugh Jackman's superhero flick could hang onto the top spot given that its second week drop-off is expected to be much less steep than the poorly received "X-Men Origins: Wolverine."

"The Smurfs 2" opened on Wednesday. The sequel mixes live action and animation like its predecessor, based on the 1980s cartoon, toys and the original Belgian comic strips. The family-oriented flick sat at a very "rotten" 14 percent on Rotten Tomatoes "Tomatometer" as it entered the weekend, even lower than the first.

"2 Guns" has received decent reviews and Denzel Washington is of course a reliable box office draw. Wahlberg has had huge hits like "Ted" in recent years, though this buddy cop picture will likely open in the same mid-$20 million range as his "Pain and Gain" in April.

"The Smurfs 2" is tracking in the same range. The first movie made most of its $421 million internationally. "Despicable Me 2," a huge hit for Universal that has already made more than $300 million domestically, is still being promoted via McDonald's kids' meals and Cheerios, among other avenues. The continued interest in "Despicable Me 2" will soften the impact of "The Smurfs 2" for sure.

Jackman's sixth turn as ...

Megan Fox Pregnant With Second Child

Just nine months after becoming a mom for the first time, Megan Fox confirmed she's expecting her second child with husband Brian Austin Green.

"I can confirm Megan is expecting her second child with her husband, Brian, they are both very happy," a rep for the actress told the New York Post's Page Six on Friday (August 2).

Fox gave birth to son Noah last September. Green also has a son, Kassius, from a previous relationship with actress Vanessa Marcil.

Fox is currently in the middle of filming for the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" reboot, but she has spoken openly about motherhood and her desire to expand her family. In the March 2013 issue of Marie Claire UK, she revealed, "All I wanted to do my whole, whole life was have a baby and, now, I've finally done it. I just want to give Noah as much of myself as I can. And I want to have more kids. That is where my heart is."

Green and Fox first met on the set of the sitcom "Hope & Faith" in 2004 and became engaged in 2006. After a brief split in 2009, the couple renewed their engagement, eventually tying the knot in June 2010 in Hawaii.

"I feel like I'm with my best friend," Fox told MTV News about Green last year while promoting her film "Friends With Kids." "I've been with him for so long, so it feels natural and comfortable."

Fox is currently shooting the live-action in New York City. The film reunites her with "Transformers" director ...

Ariana Grande Goes Black And White For ‘Official’ Yours Truly Cover

Ariana Grande was only teasing her fans earlier this week when she revealed a pink-hued album artwork for her September 3 debut, Yours Truly. But the fun and games ended late Thursday when she released the official black-and-white cover.

The new art features the singer in a frilly top, standing in the light, her eyes closed and her head tilted seductively to the side. As for that other shot of the singer kneeling in roses? Well, she's got other plans for it.

"Alright I'm done messing with you all although I have to admit it was pretty fun," she said. "Those other photos are all part of the album packaging."

The new image has garnered reviews like "perfect," "so beautiful omfmgk" and "literally can't stop crying. I wanna hug u Ariana." Though some fans felt that the cover is "basic" and looked too much like her art for her new latest single,

Fans only have to wait another month to hear what Grande has in store musically on the release. And, she told MTV News that the album will finally show the world who Ariana Grande is, after spending the last few years rising to fame on Nickelodeon series "Victorious" and "Sam & Cat."

"What they can expect is to get to know me, finally... Now they get to know me as Ariana," she said. "I'm very excited for that. It's very personal. It's super personal and it means a lot to me. It's incredibly emotional and sentimental."

Katy Perry Vs. Lady Gaga: Who Will Survive The A-POP-calypse?

Forget the summer of 2013; we already know the score: Robin Thicke 1, World 0. The year's real showdown is looming on the horizon ... when two of the biggest stars on the planet go head-to-head in a battle for pop supremacy.

We're talking, of course, about Katy Perry vs. Lady Gaga. The A-POP-calypse.

They'll both release albums within three weeks of each other — Katy's Prism is due on October 22, Gaga's ARTPOP on November 11 — and though you could just chalk those dates up to the traditional fourth-quarter rush (when labels stack their biggest releases to capitalize on the holiday season sales bump), there are some who see them as something more.

Forget about mere coincidence or corporate strategy ... this could be personal.

"The timing is probably intentional," Nicole Sia, SPIN's managing editor said. "I just watched Katy Perry's 'Part of Me,' and there's a scene at an awards show where Katy's presented an award, and she's backstage and Gaga walks by and is like 'Congrats,' but is throwing shade in a way. So I think it's going to be a showdown."

Of course, personal vendettas aside, there has to be a winner. And just who will come out on top is a matter of much debate. The stats certainly seem to favor Gaga — she's sold more albums and singles — but one also needs to consider recent history, which seems to favor Katy. After all, she's coming off the historic success of her Teenage Dream album, ...

Lindsay Lohan’s ‘Canyons’: How Did She Do?

Lindsay Lohan's dark, noir thriller, is out this weekend. And despite some Lohan-heavy, drama-related headlines during the film's production, the actress, fresh off a court-ordered three-month stint in rehab, is garnering generally positive reviews.

In the film, Lohan plays Tara, a Hollywood social climber trapped between a dysfunctional relationship with trust-fund kid and wannabe Hollywood producer, Christian (James Deen), and a former flame, struggling actor Ryan (Nolan Funk). It was directed by "Taxi Driver" scribe Paul Schrader and penned by .

The movie takes a look at the seedy side of Hollywood and the lengths people will go to try and make it in the business. The movie also puts a spotlight on the social boundaries put on technologically driven modern romances, leading to some especially eyebrow-raising sex scenes between Lohan and Deen. Given how much was written about the film even before critics got a peek at any frames, what are they saying now about Lohan's performance?

Far From Perfect
"The undimensional and unambitious character conceptions offer very little for the actors to work with; they have no humor, no worthwhile insights, no detectable, relatable humanity. Nor are there significant dramatic opportunities to test either Lohan, who comes off OK but unexceptionally, certainly compared to some of her earlier roles, or the less familiar names." — Todd McCarthy, The Hollywood Reporter

Signs Of Life
"Of course, many people of my generation will flock to this movie to watch Lindsay Lohan. She's the best thing about this movie, along with a monologue from James Deen peppered with the ...
