LMFAO Still ‘On The Hiatus Tip,’ Sky Blu Says

Donning almost exclusively spandex, Sky Blu and Redfoo stormed the charts as the party-rocking duo known as LMFAO. Together they released fun-loving, fist-pumping dance tracks about being sexy (and knowing it) and taking shots. But last September, LMFAO announced the party was over and that they'd be going on hiatus to pursue projects outside of the leopard-print-wearing group.

Now, with Sky Blu about to drop his solo album, Rebel Music, on July 4, it seems that LMFAO's break is more indefinite than fans had anticipated.

"It's on the hiatus tip because situations happen where me and Foo have been together 10 years strong, working, doing our thing, and LMFAO's been together for about seven. And we've had a great success, and that whole success was based on an organic lifestyle, an organic situation in the studio. And so for that to come out the right way, we got to allow it to have time to breathe," Sky told MTV News. "People [are] always [like], 'Well, we want LMFAO.' OK, well, you didn't want LMFAO before LMFAO got hot. So slow down. LMFAO gonna come back, but we gonna do it right. We're not gonna rush. Nothing can make us rush."

He continued, "We'll definitely satisfy that thirst for [the fans] because it's important. I know how important it is, and so does Foo.

But at this time in our lives — I'm 26 years old and I got some stuff on my chest I need to get off, too. You'll see! This is just the first installment. I got records. ...

Kings Of Leon Say <i>Mechanical Bull</i> Most Certainly Isn’t A ‘Minivan Record’

The Kings of Leon don't exactly have fond memories of Come Around Sundown, the album that followed their massive Only By the Night but is probably best remembered for Caleb Followill's infamous onstage freakout that came after its release.

Following that incident, the Kings canceled the remainder of the Sundown tour, and bassist Jared Followill hinted at a growing strife within the band, venting on Twitter that "there are internal sicknesses & problems that have needed to be addressed." They'd eventually return to the road, and said problems were never mentioned again. But now, after taking a break from the band, drummer Nathan Followill will admit that it was probably the darkest period in the Kings' career; one they aim to rectify on their upcoming Mechanical Bull album.

"We were able to take a year off, and step away from it for a second, and actually all got to miss what we did for a living," he told MTV News. "It was great being off for a little while, because we all had babies during that time, it was great to connect with the family in that way, but, after a while, we were ready. We bought an old paint factory in Nashville, and converted it into a studio, and we were able to go in there and make a record at our own pace.

"There was no pressure this time around; we weren't coming off the heels of a multi-Grammy winning, multi-million selling record, it was 'OK, we can make the kind of record we want ...

Will Superman, Batman Team Up Onscreen?

Ever since "Dark Knight" trilogy director Christopher Nolan stepped in as a producer on fans have wildly speculated that Gotham City and Metropolis would become sister cities, with Superman being primed for a team-up with Batman. But those dreams have been dashed thanks to "Man of Steel" producer Charles Roven, who set the record straight at the Super-film's red-carpet premiere.

"The Chris Nolan universe ended — as far as Chris Nolan directing, for sure, but I think he's completely [done] — with the 'Dark Knight' trilogy," Roven told MTV's Josh Horowitz. "That's the statement and the stories that he wanted to make."

As big of a bummer as this might be for lifelong DC Comics fans, who passionately want the company to establish a cinematic universe similar to Marvel Comics' string of interconnected blockbusters, it does make sense that a godlike alien visitor with the power to move mountains and defy gravity wouldn't fit in with Nolan's ultra-real and gritty take on the Caped Crusader. But that doesn't mean the two couldn't meet up someday within the context of a new, shared universe.

"[Christopher Nolan] and [screenwriter] David [Goyer], when they were constructing the story, and when Zack [Snyder] came in and it was important to him [that] whatever the world was that we were building here, it allowed for the possibility [of a shared universe]," Roven said. "We didn't want to create a universe where that wasn't possible. We wanted to create a universe where that might be possible."

The trailers for "Man of Steel" have already hyped up an expanded ...

Kanye West’s <i>Yeezus</i> — Our First Take On The Year’s Most Anticipated Album

On Monday night, Kanye West unveiled Yeezus at a star-packed listening party held on the loading docks of New York's Milk Studios. It was unconventional, to be sure, but that didn't stop the likes of Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Timbaland and New York athletes like Tyson Chandler and Victor Cruz from showing up (it was definitely odd to see Hov standing in the same spot where, hours before, trash had been stacked) to witness West's latest masterwork.

MTV News' James Montgomery and Rob Markman were in attendance, and now that their eardrums have recovered (if Yeezus is anything, it's loud), we asked them for their opinions on the record, breaking down the beats, the lyrics and offering up a final analysis. Consider this the opening lines in a conversation that's sure to go all summer long. That's how ambitious, over-the-top, and challenging this album really is.

The Beats
Before Monday night, Yeezus, had only been projected onto buildings, blasted out of speakers on and boomed across the muddy expanses of Governors Ball — all of which were oddly appropriate, given the album's massive electronic wallop, its seas of squelching synthesizers, stuttering drums and nightmarish vocal yowls. It was equally fitting that West chose the loading dock of NYC's Milk Studios as the next venue for the album's unveiling. After all, what better way to showcase the disorienting depths the album plumbs than a concrete-coated depot? To me, Yeezus recalls the pummeling rush of groups like Death Grips, all gut-hammering electronic low end, guttural yelps, machine-gun drums and stabbing synths. And ...

Demi Lovato’s ‘Candid’ E-Book Takes Fans Behind The Scenes

Demi Lovato is bringing fans into her world with her new e-book, The book, out now, takes fans along for the journey with the singer and "X Factor" judge during the making of her album of the same name, which dropped last month.

Billed as "the official companion" to the album, the book gives fans behind-the-scenes access to the singer, including never-before-seen footage and interviews. In one clip, she says that being honest and open is not only the message she's sending her fans in the book but also on her 2013 album release.

"I wrote about personal experiences and became more candid about them," she says in a video clip featured in the release. "I also feel like my lyrics were more vulnerable, and I'm just really proud of how honest I was in this album."

The e-book also takes a look back at Demi's career up to this point, including a timeline of some of the former Disney star's biggest moments. But the book really takes a look at who Lovato is now as a performer, as evidenced in featured performance footage. In one clip, the 20-year-old belts out her Demi ballad "In Case." Shot in black-and-white, the clip strips it all down and puts Demi's voice on full display.

She said, "This album I've had enough time to really reflect on personal experiences and look back at my life after having overcome a bunch of things. I've been more aware of myself; therefore, when you listen to the album, you can really tell in the lyrics ...

Austin Mahone Shows Off ‘Challenging’ Dance Moves In ‘What About Love’ Video

With his swoon-worthy lyrics, impressive dance moves and signature beanie hat, Austin Mahone is one step closer to pop stardom with his brand-new video, "What About Love."

On Monday, moments after the 17-year-old premiered his latest clip, he stopped by for telling a crowd of his biggest Mahomies the concept behind the video.

"It's me kinda singing to this girl, but it has a lot of flashbacks," Mahone said. "So it's me remembering all the times we had ... there are a lot of good scenes, me in the garage at the motel — it's just a cool video."

Mahone teamed up with famed director Colin Tilley, who has worked with a host of big-name artists, including Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown. Yet what's equally impressive about Mahone's latest effort is his choreography.

"Every video I've done, I've done more and more dancing," Mahone said. "And I think the more videos I do in the future, the dancing is just going to get better and more challenging."

There's one thing that won't get any easier, however: dancing with his beanie hat, especially when, as was the case with "What About Love," he's shooting in the Miami heat.

"It was tough," Mahone said of dancing in his hat. "I definitely lost a couple pounds that day. Just gotta look good."
