Kelly Clarkson Gets Ready For Married Life On ‘Tie It Up’

Kelly Clarkson is not only ready to walk down the aisle in her real life, but on her new single as well. On Saturday the singer took the stage at the CMA Music Festival in Nashville, where she debuted her brand-new country-tinged track, "Tie It Up."

On the feisty tune, Clarkson proposes that she and her man, well, tie it up and marry one another. She sings, "Let's set the date/ Let's hire a band/ Let's cut the cake/ Tie up the cans ... Every wall needs a frame/ Every ball needs a chain/ I'm talkin' about tying the knot/ Tie it up."

While Clarkson has experimented in the world of country music before, this single veers more in that lane than her previous releases. During her set, the singer reportedly told the crowd that she was nervous to preview her new, twangier sound.

"This is my first official set at a country ... thing. I've been nervous all day because I wanted to be good for you!" she said during her set at the LP Field. "I'm secretly freaking out right now about where my ring is. I know Brandon is having a heart attack. Sorry baby, I love you! I got nervous about tonight so I probably took it off while doing something."

She also posted the art for the track on her Instagram. It features Clarkson in wedding attire, her left arm tied with rope to her significant other.

Clarkson announced her engagement to talent manager Brandon Blackstock last December.

‘The Purge’ Shocks Box Office With $36.4 Million Debut

Sometimes in Hollywood, smart concepts and high profit margins will trump big budgets and big stars.

June kicked off with Will Smith flaming out in the critically reviled vanity project, (which paired him with his son, Jaden) in an effects-heavy sci-fi story under the direction of big name director M. Night Shyamalan. This past weekend, the box office was dominated by a micro-budget movie, which clobbered another pair of A-list actors.

from the same producer as the "Paranormal Activity" series and "Insidious," was made for just $3 million but managed to debut at #1 with $36.4 million, beating even some of the highest industry expectations. The story about a future where people are allowed to break the law for one day a year became the largest opening ever for Ethan Hawke, as Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson saw their poorly reviewed "The Internship" open at #4 with $18.1 million.

The opening was significantly higher than Hawke and producer Jason Blum's previous collaboration, "Sinister," which was released in October of last year. "The Purge" usurped last year's similarly micro-budgeted as record holder for largest opening of an R-rated horror movie that wasn't a remake, a sequel or an adaptation.

Vaughn and Wilson were a blockbuster team in the well-reviewed R-rated comedy "Wedding Crashers." Going into the weekend, The Onion joked that "The Internship" was "poised to be the biggest comedy of 2005." With its bad reviews, bad buzz and lackluster opening, the Google-centric PG-13 comedy won't make anywhere near the $209.2 million made by "Wedding Crashers" back ...

The Wanted Welcome Nathan Sykes Back Onstage After Vocal Surgery

The Wanted had a huge surprise for fans during their set at the Summertime Ball Festival in London on Sunday: the return of Nathan Sykes.

The 20-year-old singer has been missing-in-action since undergoing vocal cord surgery in April, and the rest of the boys made it sound like it was unclear when he would return during a late May appearance
on the E! talk show "Chelsea Lately," when they said they hadn't spoken to him in several months.

But, taking the stage in front of 80,000 fans at Wembley Stadium, Sykes appeared back in form, though he told British reporters afterwards that he's yet to finish his vocal parts for the group's next album after suffering what was reported to be a hemorrhaged vocal cord. According to reports, after the Wanted ran through a set packed with hits, Sykes came out to sing his solo on the single "I Found You," to the delight of the sold-out crowd.

Manager Scooter Braun was psyched to see the boys back together, tweeting, "That was incredible!!! @NathanTheWanted I'm very proud of u. U worked hard and that was an amazing surprise and ridiculous solo!! Well done!"

It was an emotional moment for Sykes as well, who wrote, "Thanks for all the love today. Really put a smile on my face."

The
singers have been giving fans a sneak peek at their private lives on the E! reality show
including how they've been faring while waiting to see how Sykes recovers from his surgery.

Kings Of Leon To Unleash ‘Mechanical Bull’ In September

It sounds like Kings of Leon are getting a bit playful on the follow-up to 2010's Come Around Sundown. The group's sixth studio album, Mechanical Bull, is due out on September 24, according to Billboard magazine.

In fact, KOL were all set to announce the details of the release during their headlining set at the Governors Ball Music Festival on New York's Randall's Island on Friday, but their headlining gig was washed out
due to the soggy aftereffects of Hurricane Andrea. Their set was rescheduled and slipped into Saturday's line-up, just before headliners Guns N' Roses. They will spend most of the summer on the road in Europe playing a succession of major festival dates.

Appropriately, the lead single from the album is reportedly titled "Super Soaker," and is due out mid-July. The album was recorded with longtime producer Angelo Petraglia. Earlier this year, bassist Jared Followill told England's NME that he was surprised by the sound of the new music. "I thought we were going to make a really mature album but I'm amazed how youthful it sounds. It's like a mix of Youth & Young Manhood and Because of the Times." The band debuted the surging new rock song
at a California festival date in May.

The new effort is the first from the group since an onstage meltdown
by singer Caleb Followill in July 2011 forced them to cancel the rest of their U.S. tour due to what was described at the time as "vocal issues and exhaustion." Jared Followill ...

Kanye West Debuts New Yeezus Songs, Dismisses Radio At Governors Ball

NEW YORK -- Kanye West opened and closed his headlining set at the Governors Ball Music Festival on Sunday night (June 9) with the high octane Yeezus track and in between that he delivered everything from classics like "All Falls Down," to three brand new tracks from his upcoming sixth solo LP.

While Mr. West is known for his elaborate stage shows, which he displayed during performances of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy last year, the tone of this set was much darker and more intense than usual. During "Black Skinhead," the large stage screens flashed with images of ferocious barking dogs, "not for sale" signs and even menacing figures in black masks resembling KKK garb, as Kanye emerged in a studded black leather jacket and his all-red Air Yeezy 2's, wailing into the microphone and head banging through the song.

"New Slaves" followed with the same level of intensity but then things lightened up considerably with "Mercy." Since he had no guests in tow last night, Kanye simply delivered his own verse, before continuing to "Cold" and then performing a brand new song from Yeezus being billed as which has a very heavy electronic influence.

After playing an extended version of "Power" and taking a short break from the stage, the crowd took a pause from their "Yeezus" chants to sing happy birthday to Kanye instead, as he'd celebrated his 36th birthday the previous night (in the company of Nas and Jay-Z). When he returned to the spotlight, he relocated to another stage in ...

What Is Miley Cyrus Really Singing About On ‘We Can’t Stop’?

Miley Cyrus just wants to party on her new single, Released last week, the tune immediately became a viral hit, and after a few plays, it left some fans scratching their heads about some of its edgier lyrics.

On the track, the lead single off her highly anticipated 2013 album, one lyric has listeners wondering if the 20-year-old is singing "dancing with Molly" (a reference to the party drug Ecstasy) or "dancing with Miley" (a reference to, of course, herself). So, MTV News went straight to the song's producer, Mike Will Made It, for some clarification.

"It's whatever you take it," he explained. "If you want to dance with Molly, then you gonna enjoy the line 'Dancing with Molly.' You know what I'm saying? But whoever wants to dance with Miley, and whoever enjoys Miley Cyrus, then you know what I'm saying, then they're going to take it as 'Dancing with Miley.' So however y'all want to take it. It's not really for us to just really lay out. We just put the record out."

Miley Cyrus Works Hard, Parties Hard!

Whether she's singing about Miley or Molly on that particular line, another lyric — "And everyone in line in the bathroom/Trying to get a line in the bathroom" — has fans speculating if she's referencing cocaine.

"I mean it's a point-of-view record, so she never said that she was standing in the line in the bathroom, trying to get her line in the bathroom. She said everyone in line in the bathroom, trying to get a line in the bathroom," ...

‘Man Of Steel’: Young Clark Kent Dishes On His Super Role

"Man of Steel" marks Henry Cavill's first performance as Superman, but he's not the only actor playing that role in the new film. He shares the screen with Cooper Timberline and Dylan Sprayberry, who play Kal-El/ Clark Kent during the character's childhood in Smallville. And after small roles in films like "Land of the Lost" and "Old Dogs," Sprayberry shoulders an enormous responsibility in the film, shepherding the iconic character through some of the most difficult and important times of his life.

MTV News recently spoke to Sprayberry about his performance in "Man of Steel." Naturally gregarious and armed with a wit faster than a speeding bullet, the young actor discussed the process of landing the role and talked about the challenges — physical and emotional — of bringing such a famous character to life. And as the budding thespian begins to build a fanbase, he revealed his first challenge as a public figure — to get a Twitter account.

MTV: Tell me about the audition process. What was that like?

Dylan Sprayberry: I probably went in about four or five times for the audition and they were keeping everything really under wraps. They didn't want anyone to know what it was for, they wouldn't tell me anything. I did a monologue from "Stand By Me" ... [When] I got the third callback and I found out that it was going to be for Superman and then they started pairing me up with younger versions and that's when I met Zack and Deborah Snyder. I auditioned for the bully actually as ...

Russell Crowe Felt ‘Stuck’ In Spandex ‘Man Of Steel’ Costume

After more than two decades in the game, Russell Crowe has become well-known for not just the intensity of his performances but the preparation he undergoes for those performances. But in "Man of Steel," Crowe seemingly met his match as he geared up to play Superman's father Jor-El, thanks to a costume that he described as "one of the toughest he ever had to wear."

"The spandex in this thing is like four layers," Crowe told MTV News at the film's Los Angeles press day. "And then when you put the ceremonial robes on top and 40-pound leather cape and all of that sort of [stuff], it's fine if you're just standing there but when you have to jump around doing fight sequences and everything, it was a bit of a challenge."

Although Crowe was required to participate in some considerably physical sequences, including a fight scene with co-star Michael Shannon, who plays General Zod, the acclaimed actor suggested that the biggest obstacle in the costume was decidedly more mundane. "The main challenge is probably not being able to go to the bathroom for eight hours at a time," he confessed. "Once you're in your costume, you're stuck in it until lunchtime, because it was 20-25 minutes just to get out of it. So there was a lot of new and interesting things on this."

In "Man of Steel," Crowe provides the film's philosophical core: after sending Kal-El to Earth to save him, his "consciousness" nurtures his son through the moral and spiritual minefield of being a citizen of two ...

Gunplay Spits ‘From The Heart’ After Kicking Cocaine Addiction

Gunplay's drug-addicted past is no secret, but now that he's prepping his solo debut album, Living Legend, the Maybach Music spitter is clean, clear-headed and focused.

"I was on cocaine since, like, 10 years, 12 years, something like that. I wasn't junktified where I was stealing stuff and stuff like that, but it was my thing," he said when he appeared on "RapFix Live" on Wednesday. "I have a strong will. I quit cigarettes early this year, cold turkey. Whatever I put my mind to, whatever I wanna do, I'm strong like that. If I wanted to quit smoking refer — it's nothing."

Gun says his moment of clarity came several years ago and after a bit of self-reflection he decided to leave coke alone. "That happened Memorial [Day] Weekend 2008," he recalled. "I was on the beach, I was just goin' hard and just took my last blast and said, 'Man, I'm tired of my nose hurtin', tired of looking all drawed up."

But the Triple Cs standout is no stranger to trouble. Last year, Gunplay turned himself in after a warrant was issued for his arrest in connection to an April 2012 robbery. The charges have since been dropped and now Gun is working toward getting his album out; kicking his coke habit has helped him zero in on his music, he said.

"Within myself, I said if I really wanna get this money, if I really wanna take this serious and not let my family and friends down, let me go ahead and do the right thing. I took ...
