Demi Lovato Nabs ‘Glee’ Role With Adam Lambert

Demi Lovato is ready to make her return to acting this fall. The singer will reportedly appear on the new season of “Glee.”

According to TV Line, Lovato, who serves as a judge on another Fox show, “X Factor,” will appear in at least six episodes of “Glee.” The site reports that she’ll play a struggling artist named Dani, who will spend some time with Lea Michele’s Rachel and Naya Rivera’s Santana. She’ll also share musical numbers with Adam Lambert, who joined the show earlier this summer.

Reps for Lovato and Fox have yet to confirm the report to MTV News, but Lambert shared his excitement over the casting on Twitter. He wrote, “@ddlovato I just heard the news! Excited to sing w you girl!”

Lovato’s multi-episode arc is slated to kick off during the October 3 episode, which will mark part two of the Beatles-themed episodes. A tribute episode to late star Cory Monteith will air on October 10 before the show goes on hiatus.

The new season of “Glee” begins on September 26, two weeks after the “X Factor” begins on September 11. Episodes of “Glee” will reportedly tie into “X Factor” results show episodes, as both air Thursday nights.

This marks Lovato’s first foray into acting since leaving her hit Disney show, “Sonny With A Chance,” in 2011. In addition to “Glee” and her role on “X Factor,” Lovato released Demi earlier this year. Lovato is up for a Best Female Video Moonman at the VMAs this year for “Heart Attack.” The VMAs will air live from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center this Sunday, August 25 with Katy Perry, Kanye West, Lady Gaga and more scheduled to perform.
