‘Jem And The Holograms’ Gets ‘Pretty Little Liars’ Star

Your favorite TV stars are jumping out of the small screen for “Jem and the Holograms.”

Aubrey Peeples (“Nashville”) and Aurora Perrineau (“Pretty Little Liars”) have been cast as Jem and Shana respectively in the new film adaptation of “Jem and the Holograms,” based on the animated 1980s TV series (which itself was based on a series of toys). Hayley Kiyoko and Stefanie Scott round out the holograms as Kimber and Aja, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Not only was the cast released, but the film’s official website also has the first character posters from the film, featuring each bandmember’s signature hair color and style. The production is clearly going full steam ahead, as it was first announced only last month.

Jon M. Chu, who last directed “G.I. Joe: Retaliation,” will direct the film, which will center on Jem’s musical adventures around the world, and will import the characters into the modern world.

There’s no release date for the movie, but based on the insanely quick casting and production so far, we probably won’t have to wait too long.
