Lady Gaga Unveils <i>ARTPOP</i> Cover: See It Here!

Lady Gaga started off the week with a big reveal when she revealed to her Little Monsters “a piece of her heart” through her ARTPOP cover art.

The Jeff Koons-designed art features a nude sculpture of herself with a big, blue ball between her legs. It reads ARTPOP across the bottom and her name is also featured on the cover in big, pink lettering.

There are spliced-up images that serve as the background for the album cover, including pieces of Botticelli’s “The Birth of Venus,” which she recreated in her .

The unveiling took place on her website and on billboards across the world. Shortly before it premiered, Gaga described it as “a piece of my heart. Something I cherish deeply. A real depiction of my mind through his.” Of course, the Mother Monster famously refers to Koons on her album’s lead single, “Applause,” when she sings, “One second I’m a Koons, then suddenly the Koons is me.”

Her collaboration with the famed artist will hardly end there. Gaga revealed that “the center image of me is a new Jeff Koons sculpture to be exhibited nov.10 at the artRAVE ARTPOP’s release party!”
