Always on the cutting edge, Rihanna is bringing her signature sense of style to TV this week for her Bravo series
While a version of the show aired in the U.K. last year, Bad Gal RiRi is taking it Stateside for the first time, and she’s doing it with fashionistas Pharrell Williams, supermodel Erin Wasson and her own stylist Mel Ottenberg. The show gives 12 wannabe designers a shot at fashion stardom, a slot on Rihanna’s design team, a cash prize of $100,000 and a spread in Glamour magazine.
If that weren’t enough, the chart-topper also invited celebs Kid Cudi, Miley Cyrus, Carly Rae Jepsen, Khloe Kardashian, Kylie Minogue, Kelly Osbourne, the Band Perry, Naya Rivera, Big Sean, Nervo and Ne-Yo to make appearances.
Naya and Sean caught up with MTV News the day they filmed their appearance, set to air later this season. “Well, the concept of the show, it’s a design/fashion competition show where contestants design outfits for clients, and this week they’re designing a couple’s outfit for Sean and I and we get to pick the winner,” the “Glee” actress teased, with her real-life beau by her side.
“They’re making the outfits for us for one of my album release parties, for the release of Hall of Fame, and if it’s good, we’ll wear it,” Sean added.
During the set visit, the music- and fashion-minded couple shared how they get ready for events with each other, even if they are not together during the primping process. “Me and Naya just get ready for events and stuff, it’s weird. I’ll just be like ‘What color are you wearing?’ She’ll be like, ‘black.’ I’ll be like, ‘cool.’ “
But Naya insists it’s a little more complicated than that. “He’s like slightly lying ’cause he also sends me outfit options and I’ll do the same to him,” she revealed.
“Styled to Rock” kicks off Friday (Octobers 25) at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
