Rita Ora Joins ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ As Christian’s Adopted Sister

“Fifty Shades of Grey” is rounding out its cast.

Production is underway on the highly anticipated film adaptation of E.L. James’ buzzy book, and it now appears that British singer Rita Ora has joined the cast as Christian Grey’s adopted sister Mia. The 23-year-old tweeted the news on Monday (December 2).

“It’s official! I’ve been cast in @FiftyShades of Grey as Christian’s sister Mia. #FiftyShades,” she wrote.

Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson nabbed the coveted lead roles earlier this year, while Ora joins a supporting cast that includes Luke Grimes, Eloise Mumford, Victor Rasuk, Max Martini and Jennifer Ehle. The film, a joint venture between Universal and Focus Features, is due out on Valentine’s Day 2015 and chronicles the racy relationship between handsome billionaire Grey (Dornan) and virginal college student Anastasia Steele (Johnson).

While this isn’t Ora’s first foray into film, it is definitely her most notable one. The singer previously appeared in Universal’s “Fast & Furious 6” as a racer and before that, she held a role in the British film “Spivs.”

The Yugoslavia-born Ora released her debut album, Ora, in August of 2012.

With the first images from the Vancouver set hitting the web on Monday, the film appears to be back on track. In October, Charlie Hunnam sent shockwaves through Hollywood when he dropped out of the high profile project. The “Sons of Anarchy” actor has initially been cast in the role of Grey before Dornan stepped in to fill his place.
