‘The Voice’ Recap: ‘Rugrats’ Star Goes Team Blake In ‘Dirty’ Blind Auditions

is back with a vengeance. Coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green didn’t waste a moment getting into each other’s hairs and picking sides as the second round of blind auditions went down last night.

The rapport among the celebrity coaches was evident as they often expressed their love for one another, but a rejuvenated Green and Aguilera stepped up their pitching game by taking down their competition by any means necessary.

Here are some of last night’s stand-outs:

These Boots Are Made For Stalking
When 16-year-old Jacquie Lee took the stage, she assumed her voice would be the topic of attention. Although she got Shelton and Xtina to turn their chairs, fellow coach Green seem enthralled with Lee’s studded boots, asking her, “Did you get those boots from Aldo?” and later taking a photo of them. When the conversation turned back to the music, Xtina and Shelton began the digs. “He’s bored of winning,” Aguilera said of Shelton before he piped in, “I specialize in 16-year-old girls winning this show.” That sealed the deal, and she went home to Team Blake.

Risky Business
Cole Volsbury took a huge, unique risk for his “Voice” debut. The early twenties soul singer piqued Green’s interest with his rendition of “The Jeffersons” theme song, “Movin’ On Up.” Luckily, the unusual song choice paid off, and Volsbury landed on spot on Team Cee Lo. “Anyone who has the audacity to do that song I have to be associated with,” Green said.

Deck The Halls
With boughs of Holly Henry, that is. When the shy 19-year-old arrived on the stage, no one quite knew what to expect. Her “beautiful, silky tone” was evident from the get-go, resulting in all four coaches turning their chairs during her rendition of Coldplay’s “The Scientist.” “I almost broke my hand hitting this button,” Shelton emphatically claimed, “Because of you I am officially excited about season five of ‘The Voice.’ ” The platinum blonde indie folk songstress blew the coaches’ minds and eventually decided Blake Shelton was her coach-to-be. Fa la la la la la la la la.

From Rugrats To Riches
You probably know 54-year-old E.G. Daily and don’t even know it. The well-known voice actor is most famous for voicing the lead Tommy Pickles in “Rugrats” and starring opposite Pee Wee Herman in “Pee Wee’s Big Adventure.” But it was Daily’s singing voice that caught the ears of coaches Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green. “E.G. can do things with her voice that are impossible,” Shelton said, while Green praised her unique rasp. While Green knew all about her past, Daily was intent on the future opting to be on Team Blake.

Island Vibes
Tessanne Chin didn’t have to do much to turn all four chairs. The native Jamaican’s sterling voice hit the coaches within her first few notes. “This is gonna be a dirty fight,” Levine said after Chin performed a passionate and triumphant cover of Pink’s “Try.” While Aguilera gushed over her “passion” and “heart,” Green revealed he wanted to “accompany” Chin to the top, platonically. Kinda. Having to weed through the desperate pitches, Chin eventually landed on Levine as her coach, giving him a big boost.

The final tally: Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green with four apiece and Adam Levine with five members, so far.

If the first two episodes of season five are any indication of what’s to come, we predict a thoroughly entertaining season.
