There’s nothing easier than swiping or clicking to get a new single or album from your favorite artist. But what if you could, you know, leave the house and go down to your local independent record store and get a super rare picture disc with the metal-ized faces of One Direction on it?
Today is your day, then. This year’s eighth annual Record Store Day features rare and exclusive vinyl and CDs (and even cassettes!) from more than 400 artists, ranging from classic rockers like Bruce Springsteen, Aerosmith, Jimi Hendrix, to rap gods Public Enemy, the Notorious B.I.G., indie legends the Pixies, Soundgarden, Husker Du and Mudhoney and newer bands like Parquet Courts, Tame Impala and Django Django.
Plus it’s your chance to get the 12″ vinyl of Childish Gambino’s Because the Internet, 8 albums by quirky rockers Cake on 175g vinyl and a glow-in-the-dark vinyl version of Ray Parker Jr.’s “Ghostbusters” single!
