50 Cent Wasn’t Invited To His Son’s Graduation

50 Cent isn’t denying that he wasn’t at his son Marquise’s high school graduation over the weekend. But the rapper offered a pretty good reason why that was the case: He wasn’t even invited.

“I don’t need an explanation,” he said on “106 & Park” this week. “My personal life, there’s portions of it that are supposed to actually be personal. And your actual life as an entertainer is a whole ‘nother portion of your life.”

Even so, he’s well aware that much of his life is in the public eye. And with that as the case, Fif did decide to provide an explanation after all.

“I haven’t received an invitation to it,” he said of the graduation gathering. “And when he graduated, I was in Budapest on a movie with Melissa McCarthy, Jude Law and Jason Statham. At some point, the information, the reason why it actually comes out, is because his mom is going to TMZ.”

Initial reports suggested that Marquise expressed his disappointment on a Facebook page, though later reports alleged that it was a fake account. Regardless, the fact that Fif wasn’t at the graduation remained, as did the reason for it.

“My relationship with my oldest son is dictated by his actual mom,” 50 added.

The Queens native tossing the brunt of the blame in the direction of his son’s mother isn’t particularly surprising. Many of the tensions in their relationship have played out in public in recent years.

Also this week, Fif released his latest Animal Ambition cut, “Twisted.”

The album is set to hit stores June 3.
