Some people use Tinder just to hookup, but plenty more use it because they are looking for a relationship. If you’re looking for a dating app that makes absolutely no pretense about what its users are looking for, then Mixxxer is for you.
Even if it’s not for you, you’re at least curious about how it works. That’s why I created and deleted a profile in sex minutes to give you a SFW taste of the newest NSFW dating app.
Registering
Apple and Google have banned Mixxxer from their app stores, so it is only available as a mobile site. To log in, you can use a desktop, but from there you need to use your mobile device to sign in and navigate the site. Some might view this as tedious, others might view it as pleasantly private since you don’t have a Mixxxer icon on your phone and you don’t need to sign in through Facebook.
Making A Profile
After creating a screen name and entering a zip code, you can upload a photo. You can load as many racy photos as you want, and there is also a “shower door” feature that can blur them if you’re bashful. From there, you select a mood from a list that includes “dinner and dancing” to way more graphic and detailed options. The status message is below your mood and is customizable to whatever you’re looking for.
Then you enter your basics from more pre-set lists.
If your “revealing” pics don’t reveal enough about you, you can describe yourself.
You can also fine-tune your search results.
Finally, you can really tell other users what you want out of this site.
Browsing
Mixxxer selects matches within a few miles of your location. Glancing through, many of the users I saw seemed fake (or professional). A few seemed real. Also, whoever you are and whatever you’re into, it looks like Mixxxer is at least trying its best to accomodate.
Selecting
Just like Tinder, Mixxxer lets you select by “swiping” photos. Except instead of swiping, you click on a button of the two people from the bathroom signs having sex. You can also pay extra to send messages.
Canceling
Not to your liking? Canceling was simple, but it does try to entice you to come back.
