Why Choose? Becky G Wants All The 5SOS Guys To Be Her VMA Date

Last year at this time, Becky G walked the red carpet at the VMAs for the first time as a new artist on her way up. This year, though, she’ll be asking the questions as the 2014 VMA Pre-Show‘s #instaGLAM correspondent.

“Walking the red carpet last year was so cool because it was in Brooklyn [at the Barclays Center] and I got to be a part of it and got interviewed,” Becky told MTV News. “But now to be working the red carpet and interviewing people myself and giving fans the inside scoop on everything that’s happening backstage and leading up to the VMAs on the day of is so mind-blowing to me.”

It’s especially sweet because the show is taking place, literally, in Becky’s ‘hood: Inglewood. “I’m an Inglewood girl, born and raised, so it’s something really special for me to have all these iconic artists be at this iconic venue.”

The “Shower” singer was standing in the backstage are of Inglewood’s legendary Forum, where the VMAs will rock the house on Sunday, August 24, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.

Becky’s still trying to figure out what she’s going to wear for the show, but one thing she knows for sure is who she’d like to have on her arm on Sunday: VMA nominees and performers 5SOS. Like, all of them.

“I’ve never met them before but I’m really excited to meet them,” she said of Luke, Michael, Calum and Ashton. “Just because a long time ago I actually saw them open up for Justin Bieber at my very first concert and I remember thinking, ‘Wow, these guys are soooo good! Like, I have no idea who they are, but they have everybody with their hands up and cell phones up.’ And they were just rockin’ it out.”

Watch Becky crushing on 5SOS.

We’ve told you all week which 5SOS we’re bringing as our date to the VMAs, so we asked Becky who her dream date would be. “All of them! They’re all very good looking!”

Ball’s in your court, boys.
