Taylor Swift is officially gracing the “The Voice” as a guest advisor. With the news of her brand new album 1989 and the success of her new single “Shake It Off”—her second No. 1 to date—it’s safe to say that Swift is back, and this time she’s ready to dominate the pop world. And in 2014, appearing on “The Voice” is practically a requirement.
US Weekly reports that Swift will appear in a similar capacity to Chris Martin’s season six appearance, helping out across all four teams. Will she advise them to get moves like Mick Jagger as Martin did? Given her new single’s focus on dancing, she just might.
Swift will join the show’s veteran judges Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, and of course, the brand new coaches Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams who will also appear on this upcoming season, filling in for Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green respectively.
Each judge will also have an advisor this year. Levine will work with Stevie Wonder, Gavin Rossdale will work with his wife Stefani, country trio Little Big Town will advise Shelton and Alicia Keys will join Pharrell.
The season kicks off September 22 at 8 p.m. on NBC, which is just about a month before Taylor’s new album comes out, on October 27. Taylor previously performed on Season 4 of the “The Voice,” so maybe we’ll get more teasers from her during her stint on the show!
