David Bowie Is Having Kind Of A Moment Right Now

Although David Bowie Day might have come and gone, the legendary glam-rock singer and totally influential fashion icon just won’t quit. He’s got a brand-new single, an “American Horror Story: Freak Show” homage and even a museum exhibit dedicated to his damn self.

On Sunday (October 12), Bowie premiered his new single, “Sue (or In a Season of Crime),” on BBC Radio 6. The seven-minute prog odyssey is a long way away from the catchy glam-rock hits that shot him up the charts over 40 years ago, but it still features plenty of the singer’s freakish charms. It’ll appear on Bowie’s forthcoming compilation album, Nothing Has Changed, due out November 17.

That’s not all. On Wednesday (October 8), Jessica Lange’s character on “American Horror Story,” Elsa Mars, sang Bowie’s seminal “Life On Mars” in a bizarre stage show, even though this season is set 19 years before the single was released in 1971.

According to the show’s creator, Ryan Murphy, David Bowie was totally cool with his song appearing in the episode, as he identifies as a freak himself.

And in case you missed it, Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art is currently hosting an entire exhibit on the star’s career called “David Bowie Is.” A documentary by the same name based on the collection saw its stateside release at the end of September.
