Homecoming isn’t just for high school students anymore. Celebrities are getting in on the action as well, thanks to MTV.
We are officially kicking off MTV Homecoming, where 32 of the biggest stars in pop culture will battle it out for the title as homecoming king and queen…bracket style.

So who will rule the school? Well, that’s entirely in your hands. The first round of voting begins today (October 13) and ends on October 16, when 32 people will be narrowed down to 16. You can help your fave advance to the second round by voting as many times as you wish and by spreading the message on Twitter, Instagram, Vine and Tumblr using the hashtag #MTVHomecoming.

Stars from all different genres of the pop sphere — music, movies, reality TV and YouTube stars — are going head to head in this interactive battle, and if you are noticing that some of the big name players are missing (Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, Justin Timberlake, etc.), there is a reason why — everyone on this list is 30 and under.
The first round match-ups were decided at random — like, literally we pulled names out of a hat.
So, will Ariana Grande and Big Sean become the cutest homecoming couple ever? Will Demi Lovato take down Rihanna in the first round? Could we see Katy Perry and Taylor Swift battle it out? Could Directioners and the 5SOS Fam duke it out in the final round? It’s up to you to decide who wears the pop culture crown.
