Miley Cyrus Climbs Atop ‘Wrecking Ball’ To Tease New Video

Just hours before Miley Cyrus twerked and grinded with Robin Thicke in her infamous 2013 VMA performance, she dropped , a slower, heart-breaking ballad from Bangerz.

And now, with the “We Can’t Stop” commotion subsiding and “Wrecking Ball” climbing up the iTunes chart (currently sitting at #10), Miley is ready to let loose her new video for the song.

“#comingMonday,” Cyrus tweeted on Thursday (September 5). The video will make its way to Vevo at the top of the week, and to hold over Smilers, she accompanied the tweet with a teaser photo.

Miley clings to a big, weathered wrecking ball, head tilted back, relaxed. She wears maroon Doc Martens and a tiny white tank. Concrete walls surround her.

After the announcement, dedicated fans formulated a plan to break the Vevo record for most views. Smiler accounts pledged to watch and rewatch the video. “We Can’t Stop” hit the record for most views in 24 hours with 10.7 million views when it debuted, but in July, One Direction’s “Best Song Ever” overtook the clip.

“I’m praying that the #WreckingBall music video will be artistic and not twerky twerky. It’s a good ballad, Miles. ❤” one fan wrote, while others quoted the song’s lyrics.
