Mack Maine Turns Himself In On Assault Charges

Mack Maine has been released from an Oklahoma County detention center after turning himself in for assault charges.

Last week TMZ reported that the YMCMB president was facing felony charges after assaulting a female fan and her friend on a tour bus in Oklahoma on August 22.

A representative for the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office told MTV News that on Friday (September 20) the 31-year-old, born Jermaine Preyan, turned himself into to the Sheriff’s Office Detention Center, completed a “walkthrough” and was released. He has officially been charged with one count of aggravated assault and battery and one count of sexual battery for the events that took place in August.

Earlier this year, Mack Maine made a visit to “RapFix Live,” where he opened up about his emotional track “Celebrate” and shared a very personal story.

“My mom was about to abort me. She was about to have an abortion,” he told host Sway Calloway, breaking down the content of the song. “She was lying on the table and she changed her life at that moment. She changed her life that day, she got saved and became a Christian.”

Thirty-one years later, the New Orleans native is the reigning president of one of hip-hop’s most profitable and star-studded labels. The Young Money/Cash Money family is currently gearing up for their biggest release of the year, Drake’s third album Nothing Was the Same, which arrives on September 24.
