Forget the 12 days of Christmas. What about the 10 weeks of Bieber? Starting on October 7, Justin Bieber will kick off a series he’s calling Music Mondays with the long-awaited single, “Heartbreaker.”
The plan calls for a new song to be released at midnight on Sunday in the lead-up to Bieber’s upcoming movie. “Sunday Midnight #heartbreaker #MusicMondays #10weeks,” Bieber tweeted on Wednesday.
Back in July, Bieber posted the first line of the song on Instagram. “Ooh, girl, I got a secret place that we can go/ ‘Cause girl, I really want to be alone/ And, baby, nobody else got to know,” he sings on the R&B-influenced track that has a sexy groove. The tease for “Heartbreaker” has been going on for months, including the release of the cover art back in June, which consisted of a crumbling purple heart .
He reposted the cover on Wednesday with the message, “Are you ready?” Manager Scooter Braun seconded that emotion, adding later that night, “So it begins … #Sunday #midnight #10weeks #musicmondays — expect the unexpected.”
Not much is known about the follow-up to 2011’s “Never Say Never” movie, but Braun has promised that a sequel is coming later this year. “[Justin] gives u some new music in October until December and then a special movie on Christmas,” Braun said of the in-the-works documentary on his Believe album. That is, assuming director Jon Chu can finish it in time.
