What better way for Justin Bieber to celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving than with new music? On Monday (October 14), he dropped his new track, “All That Matters,” the latest release in his Music Mondays series.
Much like Bieber’s first entry into the 10-week project, this track also veers a bit into sexy musical territory carved out by the likes of Miguel and The Weeknd. The Diplo-produced song opens up with acoustic guitar before a thumping mid-tempo beats comes in alongside Bieber’s vocals. The track continues the 19-year-old’s path down R&B lane. His lyrics also show a new-found maturity.
“Yeah, yeah, what’s a king bed without a queen/ There ain’t no ‘I’ in team/ You make me complete/ You’re all that matters to me,” he sings on the funky track, featured on his music journals project.
Bieber will release a new song every Monday until the release of his concert film/documentary, The film, directed by “Never Say Never” director Jon M. Chu, is slated to hit theaters around Christmas.
As for this batch of new tunes, Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, has made it clear that it’s “really for the fans.” He added, “You know he wants to show growth, but he wants to speak for himself,” he said. “These are very creative people and you can’t put them in a box and there’s nothing against the normal way of doing things. We will do that again.”
